I saw Seinfeld at a Hard Rock Cafe twenty years ago. i don't think he was joking. most of these actors and stars have egos; I've got no problem with that. And the stigma of having your show canceled is a pretty big deal. I understand why he would take exception to LK's question, which wasn't a very astute one.

I love all these Seinfeld fans trying to defend Jerry in the comments - in case you guys forgot, Seinfeld was cancelled in 1998. This interview happened, what, nearly a full decade later? I'm sorry, but no matter how much money your show made, after that long you have to expect that people might not be all that clear on who you are or what you've done. And what of those who DIDN'T watch the show at all?
Bottom line: Seinfeld is rich but no longer relevant and he doesn't like it, not one bit.

Newsflash for the ignorant masses: Jerry didn't do anything wrong. Yes, he exaggerated it at the very end to ease some comedy into it, because that's what he does for a living: he writes comedy. But it's insulting to compare someone with as much success as he had to someone else who's show may have sucked so bad they refused funding for it. He has every right to get on Larry king about it.
