Molotov's Coctail is a "Poor mans granade". It was developed by finnish alcihol idustrial ALKO during the II WW. It was originally made out of gasoline, pure alcohol and tar. When the finnish threw the bombs to the soviet tanks they yelled "Terveisiä Molotoville" what means "Say hi to Molotov", so they started to call it "Molotov's Coctail. It is pretty useles for a bomb, but it's easy to make so it is very popular.

O2 is an oxidising agent. It is not flammable. Combustion (ie fire) is caused when a spark or other ignition source starts a reaction between a flammable fuel and an OXIDISING AGENT. The oxidising agent isn't combusted. Rather it combusts the fuel.

The definition of flammable is basically "able to undergo a spontaneous reaction with oxygen (or an oxygen containing material) after an initial activation energy has been produced. (the spark)

theres also a lot easier way to do pretty much the same exact thing. take a lighter and have someone hold their hands cupped together to form a pretty small "container" and click the gas button (but dont create a spark) with the lighter. this will just release the gas into the "container". do that with a few 2-3 second bursts and immediately light it. it might take a few trys but i think its kind of neat (being that you only need a lighter)

Actually, pure oxygen is extremely flammable, and hydrogen does not burn with an invisible flame. When rockets take off to go into outer space, one booster is filled with oxygen, and the other with hydrogen. They BOTH produce fire, and when they meet, a puddle of water is left over.

Either way, I was thinking about electrolysis when I posted my previous explanation. I misunderstood the description, but if that WAS what he was doing, I'd be right.

@SockPupp : Oxygen, in whichever state (Gaseous, LOx or solid oxygen), is NOT flammable at all. Oxygen cant combust. Oxygen is just a good oxidizer, and in the case of LOx (liquid oxygen), it is a VERY strong oxidizer, which pretty much makes EVERYTHING flammable.

What you're doing is separating the oxygen and hydrogen atoms in the water molecules. Both of these are flammable gases, so when you light them on fire, they combine in a combustion reaction and produce fire and water vapor.

So basically, you're breaking water apart, and putting it back together.

It is pretty cool though. :)
