know this video is over one year old but I bet that extra month did good. I believe your dermatologist is very careing about your skin and as you said, 'reduce the risk of relapse'. How is your skin today. I am doing accutane now, half into month 4. My skin has now started to look better, recently. I am doing 40mg a day and weigh 155 lbs.
hii , you look very good. soryy i have a question , im using accutane now i started in june, do u think it will work because in the summer the sun is strong , like is the sun a problemm ??? plz reply mee plz ?? thank u
....question about the African Black Soap - it says it is rich in vit A...aren't we supposed to avoid products with Vit A while taking Accutane as it can be toxic (since Accutane itself is a derivative or Vit A)?...Also, did you experience a plateau in month 4? (I seem to be leveling out in the benefit dept and hoping that next month goes better). I am 34 & am on 60mgs. You are very pretty & well spoken...thanks for sharing your experiences on this medication. Good luck!
@shagonwagon01 I don't know about 'getting' a tattoo while you are on it....but I have a tattoo and have been taking Accutane for the past 4 months and it has not affected my ink at all....good luck!! (by the way...Accutane is working GREAT for me!!)
I'm on Accutane now! It's been about 4-5 days, and my face is HURTING really bad, since I have all these pimples developing...it's also embarrassing. Is this normal? Does the medication make your face worse then better?
Hey, Im not sure if anyone informed you yet, but it is completely normal for the first month. By now you're probably just dealing with minimal dry skin. Hope your treatments are helping!
I took Acc. 20+ yrs ago. All I can say is I hope you never have the side effects I do now. Degen. disc/ skin flare ups/ and other issues. I always lived a very healthy lifestyle... so all i can say is all the best with your treatment.
Hello! I am going for my bloodwork next week and if everything goes ok i will be able to start accutane in about 3 weeks... Would u recomend going on it? I have moderate to severe acne with some cycstic acne. Side affects... etc... would you say go for it? I tried everything else! :(
Accutane was the best decision of my life. It has changed my life so incredibly, and I have never felt so confident and free (of makeup dependence!). The side effects I experienced were not severe, physically, but I did experience some mental effects. My concentration and comprehension ability suffered, along with an increase in my moodiness. All has subsided now (i have been off for over a month).
Some people have dry skin to the point where they cannot take scalding hot showers. I've yet to have a problem with this, but I have not had severely dry skin (see list of supplements) while on Accutane. I've yet tot go in a hot tub, so who knows.
Hey, just finished watching your vblog and I'm with you on the increased indifference and irritability. I'm just heading into my third month now and I find that things which would ordinarily not bother me are making me furious. I get by just by telling those around me what I am going through and also realizing that it's probably the drugs that is making me feel this way (seems to take the edge off). At any rate, your skin looks great and I hope you keep the updates coming!
1) I didn't have any body acne at all, either. Maybe little ones on my back and chest if at all. For some reason, my case was extremely unusual and I had NO initial breakout whatsoever. It could be because I started the supplements *look at the info on my main youtube page* so early, but I doubt that alone prevented it all together. My acne cleared up within the first 3 weeks.
2) I just recently started the black soap and shea butter, long after my acne has been gone. The black soap may be too harsh on severely dry skin so I would look up more information before using. I never experienced extremely dry skin so I knew it was right for me. Both are excellent in preventing breakouts; however, the shea can be a bit greasy and I would suggest only using it at night. I think both have helped with scarring, for sure. I had a ton of red marks and they are almost gone now!
Also, in regards to initial breakout, I would watch other videos. I expected the worse and received the easiest physical side effects from accutane all together. Just expect the worst, hope for the best, and KNOW it will be over soon enough. My acne is clear and I have never had skin this soft and radiant since I was 9 years old (I'm 22).
Thank you so much for your response. I'm really excited and happy for you. You're skin looks amazing so it gives me hope really. Wish me luck to no initial breakout and NOT looking like the elephant man for a month.
This is the kind i use and to be honest its even better then the raw kind...some beg to differ but once again look at the ingredients...this soap has more honey n shea butter then any other soap!! this stuff is amazing and the big bar lasts ages..
I use black soap & shea butter daily also...for those whos skin may dry out with raw black soap...try and find the brand dudu osun black soap..its similar ingredients but it has honey, shea butter, aloe, lime & lemon juice added...truss me its all %100 natural and does not leave your skin dry at all...i then use 2 drops of tea tree oil with a dab of shea to moisurise...amazing results. look up the ingredients for dudu osun
Ive been using both for years now...prolly 5 years and i wont use anything else...the trick with any blk soap is to use it very gentle, alot of people have dry skin issues cause they scrub very hard, this soap is very raw and concentrated but if you be gentle your see amazing results. I love it, alot of men use iblk soap and shea for shaving problems, works wonders. ill post the dudu osun ingredients for the blk soap i use which is the nigerian handmade soap. you have to try it out!!
Thanks for the suggestions. That totally sucks that you're treatment is extended, but I'm sure it will only benefit you in the long run. ANd you look so GORGEOUS!! Your face is glowing!
pshhh you're too nice.. its the glow powder from cs :P but yeah, I keep reminding myself that he's just extending it to ensure it doesn't come back.. sigh.
your skin looks great! I've also felt like it's been harder to concentrate from time to time. and a few times I randomly cried over the stupidest things! it was so weird! I'm sorry you have to be on accutane an extra month, but it'll go by in no time! good luck!! :-)
the african black soap is not too harsh while on accutane (since it helps with acne?) The main reason I'm asking is because is because I just started accutane 2 days ago and I'm actually placing a coastal scents order soon so I'm thinking about getting these if you recommend them!
my face has not been very dry at all, only a little bit, which is why I started using the african black soap. if your skin gets dry to the point of peeling, or just extremely dry, I would not use the african black soap. I would DEFINITELY use the unrefined shea butter, though. its amazing. you only need a little bit and it can last up to 2 years if stored correctly!
Your really cute

Couple of questions:
1. I don't have body acne at all, just on my face; however everyones making me freak about the initial breakout, how bad should I expect it to be?
2. I ordered the black soap and the shea butter, does shea butter cause breakouts at all, and also do you feel like it helps with scarring?
Thank you so much for putting yourself out there.
