btw dj dans tracks and his label itself (in stereo) produce mainly fidget these days, switch produces fidget(hes the one he named it), sinden produces fidget, wonk produces fidget. Fidget is Wobbly and Wonky. This is Nu Disko and before that genre came to be named more recently you would refer to this as an electro or describe it as electro meets indie rock . they are such different styles its ridiculous. This has been a public service annoucement.
if you think its dubstep because of the mention dub, know that the producer term dub has nothing to do with dubstep and never has. its been used since the beginning of electronic music. dubstep evolved from reggae which is why all the emphasis is always on the 3rd beat in the measure as all the tracks are very different in style in dubstep but they all have that laid back subbass that begins on the 3rd note of a 2 bar phrase and a heavy stacked and grooved snare that hits on the 1.3 every bar

That you can call electro, electro rock, but because nu-disko is starting to become more widely known to characterize this style i felt the need to make sure nobody was smoking a ton of something and called this dubstep or fidget, which are more similar to each other than this is to fidget. think indie rock w electro, think crystal castles, le castlevania. thats nu-disko. nothing to do with disco tho.
fidget house before it became a genre very similar to electro house but with the characteristics i described earlier. This is more nu-disko because it has a very electro but very band type sound to it. to my knowledge there has never been and probably never will be a fidget song produced that uses lyrics in the same way you would expect to hear in an indie rock song. the bassline here is a high passed heavily distorted bass guitar with a sine wave layered under it to make it rattle your chest
detuned left and right(its called spread) to give it a very prominent stereo image. in fidget that i've written that many have agreed nails the genre i used a total of 12 synths in the course of just 8 bars for the bassline alone. i dropped this exact remix of this exact track before it was released on one of my promo mixes in 2008. at that time people were just calling it electro because just like fidget the sound itself preceded the genre, i played electro house before it was a genre and

In a typical bassline that fits the fidget sound you ahve very massive synths usually stacked saw osc's detuned to the effect of a chord with a seperate low register 100-40hz sine wave synth underlying each different synth to make the other synths shake the room. its a very wide sound, the higher synths are usually detuned from each other and also

this is not fidget, ive played a blend of electro house fidget and techno for years and even played fidget before switch gave it that name. fidget doesn't have a band type sound to it at all. its very synthetic, uses the same beat structure as jackin house and the signature to its sound is the use of multiple and layered bass lines and lead synth lines with lots of frequency modulation usually via a synthesizer set to be monophic(one voice) and with varying levels of portamento/glide for
This is Fidget. Not Dubstep. Get it right. Unfortunately, it's a dying breed of music, along with all the other fidget guys like Hervé, Fake Blood, Duke Dumont etc.... all decided dubstep would make them more money. Chavs now to me.
Dubstep? Don't make us laugh. Fade got douchey and corny as fuck as fast as it began. Quit clinging to the old cool you've been distributed. THIS sound is forever cool.
@w00t420 your mom is totally electro. stfu, dick. it's called dubstep. it even says that in the name of the song. "dub" = dubstep. learn your music genres, moron.
I've enjoyed this tune very much. Very good vocal. I'm not big on male vocals but was sold on this. Listened to this song alot last summer while I walked home from work. LOL.
Love this tune. Reminds me Kranked: Revolve.
