AS I recall, it's a Czec chassis. When Germany invaded other countries during the early part of the war it took over many of their tank plants and used them to supliment their own. Hence it was not uncommon for Germany to field all sorts of chassis early on in the war.
Look at the first and 2nd wheels. Their is a gap. Plus the wheels are not interwoven like on a true tiger. Czech Chassis was very small and was used on the Pzkpw35/38, Marder, Hetzer, and various other designs.
I didn't say that it was a Tiger. I just said that it was painted up as a German tank for a battle recreation. It was somebody else who said that it looked like a Tiger.
This event? Is it one of mine? I must have made a mistake.
It was some years ago. All that I remember is that the comentator identified it as an Eastern European chassis (Czec, I think) that had been Germanified. I don't recall what model turret/gear was put on it.
yes..thats why the battle of kursk was lost...the new panthers hat mechanical problems so most of them werent even used at the mainbattle!but what is that for a tiger in the video?it´s not a normal E!
Er, don't you mean that it's an Eastern European tank from a slightly different period painted up in WWII German colors for a battle recreation.
It's not a scratchbuild and it's certainly not a carnival float put on top of an old auto.
The display was actually in Europe a year or two ago. It's much easier to get a clasic tank in Europe than it is in America. People there can just put real tanks on trailers and ship them in.
Not a real tiger. Hull/wheels looks like T-54

German tanks ended up being too complex and to untried. At the end, many were rushed into battle and suffered mechanical problems.

That german Tank is not a WWII Tank. It is a selfbuild Phantasytank, that looks a little (but realy only a little) like a Tiger.
But the T 34 realy rules. ;)
