  • What a pleasant step into the past. The video / photo montage was very great and the song brought back memories of what my dad used to like to listen to and I thought he was soo square.

Who new that what was so good back then would still sound so darn good 50 + years later.

  • @jndobbie Thanks for the kind words....I'm sure Bobby will appreciate it.

  • My father Murl Liverett was a good friend of Bobby Edwards. We visited them in Tennessee when I was a child. The water in the beginning of the vedio was across the street from their home. This brought back memories for me. Love the vedio.

  • Glad you enjoyed the video...Bobby and I go back a long ways as well. I hope to do another video montage of Bobby in the near future with some newer photos and maybe another one of his hit songs so stay tuned...thanks for the comment..Charles

  • Love this song as this is the version I was looking for. I remember this playing on the juke box when I was a young boy back in the early 60s and always like it. Great song, great singer... love the back up singers, too.

  • Thanks Doug, I'm glad you enjoyed the montage. Bobby has been a close friend of mine for many many years and we've played a lot of shows together. The backup singers were a group called "The Four Young Men". Thanks for your comment.

  • hey there. my brother wrote you and told you bobby and our dad were friends. i have an album of bobby from many years ago and it is signed "to paul, the best manager a guy could have" then in 96, i had to notify bobby of his dear friend passing. he was still in anniston then i think. i thought i had caused him to have a heart attack the way he reacted to pauls passing. his wife had to call me back and find out who and what had upset him so much. if you talk to him tell him that we said hi

  • hey there. my brother wrote you a few weeks ago about bobby and our dad being friends. i have an album of bobby from many years ago. it is signed by bobby to my dad telling him he was the best manager a guy could have. also in 1996 when our dad died, i thought i had caused bobby to have a heart attack when i notified him that his good friend, paul had died. he dropped the phone and his wife called back to find out what had been told to him to upset him so much.paul talked of bobby alot.

  • Egle4,

Is Bobby still alive? My dad was Paul Cureton that wrote the song "You're the reason". You can see a picture of him at the 1:04 mark on your video.

Unfortunately, he passed away several years ago. My dad and I went out to visit Bobby when he lived out east of Anniston.

I greatly appreciate you putting this on you tube. My dad had great memories he made with Bobby.

  • And tell him I'm singing it down in Australia too. Hope he gets a royalty check now and then.

    Mick

  • Wow! What memories! Bobby used to come to my house to visit my parents in Anniston when I was young. They knew him before he became a star. Would love to contact him. Does he have an e-mail? Polly was my nurse when my son was born. Thanks for the video.

  • Wow! I've been wanting to hear this song again for so long.

Bobby is my 2nd or 3rd cousin and he brought this record over to our house ('60 or '61) and played it on my little record player and told my Dad (Snookie/William) I think I've got a hit!

And he did. Thank you so much!
