What a pleasant step into the past. The video / photo montage was very great and the song brought back memories of what my dad used to like to listen to and I thought he was soo square.
Who new that what was so good back then would still sound so darn good 50 + years later.
Ashamed to admit I`d never heard of Edwards, but his is my kind of country music. I`m also finding out there are a lot of other "forgottened " artists out there to be rediscovered, so please do like you said about future videos---I`ll be looking forward to enjoying more. Thanks!
My father Murl Liverett was a good friend of Bobby Edwards. We visited them in Tennessee when I was a child. The water in the beginning of the vedio was across the street from their home. This brought back memories for me. Love the vedio.
Glad you enjoyed the video...Bobby and I go back a long ways as well. I hope to do another video montage of Bobby in the near future with some newer photos and maybe another one of his hit songs so stay tuned...thanks for the comment..Charles
i was 15 when i first heard this in 1961...., I bought it on a 45, was getting a bit scratchy, now i have it onCD, I still play it almost every day...One of my all time favourites,
Love this song as this is the version I was looking for. I remember this playing on the juke box when I was a young boy back in the early 60s and always like it. Great song, great singer... love the back up singers, too.
Thanks Doug, I'm glad you enjoyed the montage. Bobby has been a close friend of mine for many many years and we've played a lot of shows together. The backup singers were a group called "The Four Young Men". Thanks for your comment.
Thanks for the posting. One of my all time favorite songs. This song got up to #2 in 1961on the New York City record charts where I am from. Just goes to show that people everywhere love a great song.
hey there. my brother wrote you and told you bobby and our dad were friends. i have an album of bobby from many years ago and it is signed "to paul, the best manager a guy could have" then in 96, i had to notify bobby of his dear friend passing. he was still in anniston then i think. i thought i had caused him to have a heart attack the way he reacted to pauls passing. his wife had to call me back and find out who and what had upset him so much. if you talk to him tell him that we said hi
hey there, my brother wrote you (egle4) about bobby and paul cureton. he talked of bobby alot. i have an album of bobby's from many years ago and it's signed to paul, the best manager a guy could have. thank you for posting this.

I've looked for different versions of this song and this is my very favorite. I listen to it over and over again and never tire. What a smooth voice. Thank you so much for posting this.
Wow! What memories! Bobby used to come to my house to visit my parents in Anniston when I was young. They knew him before he became a star. Would love to contact him. Does he have an e-mail? Polly was my nurse when my son was born. Thanks for the video.
As a collector of early R&B group harmony music, I have to say that this is one of my favorite country songs along with Hank and many others. I love this song and Bobby Edwards!!!!!!!!
This is one of those songs that you never get tired of hearing..and I remember when it came out, It was quite a crossover song in Central California, Thanks for putting it on, Cheers!
Thanks for the kind words. If you find the right station, it can still be heard. Mostly the stations that play traditonal country music. I've heard it several times on our local radio station. You might try calling and requesting it. Thanks.
Thank you for this fab history lesson of one of country musics great forgotten songs! I was 7 years old when it came out and remember my mother singing to it all the time!!!
Wow! I've been wanting to hear this song again for so long.
Bobby is my 2nd or 3rd cousin and he brought this record over to our house ('60 or '61) and played it on my little record player and told my Dad (Snookie/William) I think I've got a hit!

Egle4,
Is Bobby still alive? My dad was Paul Cureton that wrote the song "You're the reason". You can see a picture of him at the 1:04 mark on your video.
Unfortunately, he passed away several years ago. My dad and I went out to visit Bobby when he lived out east of Anniston.
I greatly appreciate you putting this on you tube. My dad had great memories he made with Bobby.

And tell him I'm singing it down in Australia too. Hope he gets a royalty check now and then.
