I had one of the red, white and blue ones back in the day and she was a runner for sure. I hate I ever got rid of her. I sold my Rebel Machine and my 1970 AMX to the same guy from Wisconsin in the early 90's. What a idiot I was for letting either of them go. Nice video and thanks for the memories.
my dad has a rebel machine, red like in the picture towards the end... he had it ever since i was a kid, and i remember riding in it and stuff... unfortunately now its just rotting in his driveway. he hasnt done anything with it in years and it is just slowly deteriorating.. :( i keep bugging him to give it to me so i can get it back into the shape it was when i was young...
I had a 68 Rebel SST two door, origionally a 290 and dropped an AMX 390 and Borg warner 4speed with a 3:90 posi rear gear.. It had 425+ HP. It was fun. Painted it Sun Orange with 2 fat racing stripes. .
My Father drag raced one of these from 71 til 76 , I was born and he had to give it up for me, if any of you find one in restorable condition let me know, would love to give one back to him
Okay ..got me ! Thought the only AMCs I liked were the Early AMX and the Hurst SC Rambler . Add "The Machine" ! Awesome song ! ever think Pink Floyd "Machine" ? Regardless thumbs up to ya !!
My brother use to have a AMC Rebel Machine back in the 70's. He bought it brand new! It had the 4 speed instead of the automatic. I came home from school one day and he had traded the machine for a 77 firebird formula. I still ride him about that to this day. We had some good times in that vehicle.
The Rebel is one of my favorite AMC cars. People say they copied the Dodge Coronet and super Bee, but those cars came out in 68, the Rebel came out in 67. So the Dodge cars actually look like Ramblers.
first time i ever seen a ''rebel'' from AMC, lookslike some car designer took ideas from other cars mfg and put them in one''awful'' soup:P, specialy the dashboard how weird and ......but it's rare:)

and on another note, my father always found Deep Purples "Highway Star" of the Machine head album was more suiting and reminded him of the car

@bree7878 The name of the song is "Rebel Rebel", no song could be more fitting. Well except maybe "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol.

I haven't see one of these on the road in a long time, unfortunately. Nice piece of machinery and good video.

Thanks, the only reason I know about this car is that I have a calendar with it on it. Because there is so few that are around any more.
