Wow... i found a way that worked for me. Had done nothing with the my 3g and still it got stuck in recovery mode. The only thing i had to do was to search the web for 5h and then only get the right software and temporary remove your hosts file from C:\Windows\System32\drivers\et­c and hit restore and it worked :) hope that this helps some1 else out there

dont need to reset computer. Just download the hosts files and replace in etc folder (5 files (Imhosts.sam, networks, protocal, services, hosts(just download)

Now, do DFU mode on your iphone

Your computer should detect your iphone after it finish DFU mode, so press Shift+restore then select firmware. Next just sit back and enjoy.

P.s...if you only click restore w/o firmware it will restore to it manufactor (all game will be delete)

Man been working on this for a while, I did all the other steps, like change Host file stuff but this is the ONLY one that has worked.!! Liking now!

Just download host file, go into (for windows) C: then Windows, then System32, then Drivers, then etc, then save it into there.

Restart Comp, then I didnt even DFU my iphone, just restored it with 4.3.5 and it worked.

I wasnt downgrading, I was trying to unjailbreak my 4.3.5 and this finally worked.

@702xRyder Yeah, about that error. It's not USB port or anything, it's your NOT saved SHSH blobs for that iOS that you are restoring to. You must use iFaith to attach blobs you already have for iOS 5 and then make an .ipsw out of it. Then restore your iPhone normally without TinyUmbrella or any other shit. But I think you might need to put it into pwn3d DFU mode from iReb.
