GoScotz had a good point. Why are they keeping the Buick line? Buick hasn't made anything cool since the Grand National. They should keep Pontiac and get rid of Buick, Saturn, and Hummer. B) If you mean OnStar, theres been no news as of yet from what i've researched, as far as solid answers go, but people are speculating about maybe a takeover of OnStar since they are overall pretty good and inventive, or somethign to that extent.
I'm not sure if it's a big seller because it is an expensive niche car that very few people can actually afford to buy (especially during these awful times).
That being said, I'm pretty sure it'll make it through. The Viper's got a lotta fans ... that's just too much goodwill to toss aside. And "goodwill" is an intangible and very valuable commodity that the Detroit Big 3 are sorely lacking right now.

Well, they don't actually. Both Honda and Toyota (aswell as pretty much every Japanese car make) are extreemly reliable, and well made. Which really isn't the case with French, American and the cars from the "Pacific Rim". This is a fact, not an opinion.

Can't argue with the "looks" that's really up to anyone. :) About the "power", i'd go to Germany or Italy before America, America has allways been capable of getting a very big litre engine, but still getting a very small amount of HP, example: The old Camaro, 5,7 litre engine, pumping out just about 190HP. Europe and Asia got that HP from a damn lawnmower. But i can't really argue with you, A LOT of people like American Muscle cars, and.. i'm running out of space.. Read my other comment.
"GTR only car" i strongly disagree, it might be the best supercar ever made, but not the only super/sports cars to come out of Japan and asia. examples: Honda NSX, Mitsubishi 3000GT, Several EVO's and Imprezas, Many Skylines, the Tommy Kaira ZZII and several others. Sure, it might not be as impressive as Italy's list, or Germanys, but it still doesn't suck.
But all of this is just a matter of opinion, of course. :)
well i think the best super car competition is between the gtr and the zr1, althought the gtr is cheaper the zr1 performs better, but its a matter of opinion that the perfromance gain from the zr1 justifies the other 20 ish grand
Yep all fair points, it does preform better. But i do beleive that if i got to drive them both, i'd preform better in the GTR, so much more controlled. I'm not a racing driver, so i don't care "that" much of the preformance, it's just for showing off. (for me), and i need the backseats too. And it's also a lot better made than the 'Vette. Much more "user friendly" in every way. But i do also like the Corvette, don't get me wrong, it's brilliant. :)

And a GTR - well, not everybody has Schumacher skills (like you I presume, from the tone). But when less skiled drivers wanna go fast, I bet my last dollar that they wanna survive the experience.
Most of the cars that were mentioned have earned the right to be called great cars. A Subi and an Evo have won countless times in very the harsh world of rally racing.
An NSX, even with just 290hp, has excellent power-to-weight ratio. The LF-A is classified as a supercar like the GT-R. The Furai is downright scary and insane.
Oh, and there's the IS-F - a commendable rival to the venerable BMW M3.

GoScotz had a good point. Why are they keeping the Buick line? Buick hasn't made anything cool since the Grand National. They should keep Pontiac and get rid of Buick, Saturn, and Hummer. Saturn sort of made sense when they just made small sedans, but then they made their own sports cars and SUVs. It seems that GM just spread itself thin. All of those car companies with many different models that nobody really wanted. It's sad. The current pres of GM is probably a retard.

People would jump up and run to their nearest dealer and buy a car,and so many people will be doing it and business will sky rocket leaving GM open without the bankrupt after all.

GM is not dead, they could still survive this, but they will be allot smaller if they do. There is a silver lining to GM's declaration of bankruptcy though, most investors have seen it as a sign that the global economic crisis has finally hit the bottom and the market rallied for it. Still the proverbial fat lady has not sang for GM yet and confident investors could keep that fat lady from caterwauling for some time to come.

I'm not sure if it's a big seller because it is an expensive niche car that very few people can actually afford to buy (especially during these awful times).
That being said, I'm pretty sure it'll make it through. The Viper's got a lotta fans ... that's just too much goodwill to toss aside. And "goodwill" is an intangible and very valuable commodity that the Detroit Big 3 are sorely lacking right now.

Well, they don't actually. Both Honda and Toyota (aswell as pretty much every Japanese car make) are extreemly reliable, and well made. Which really isn't the case with French, American and the cars from the "Pacific Rim". This is a fact, not an opinion.
But yes, you can dislike them still. I dont really see why one would prefer American cars in front of.. well basically everything else, but hey that's my opinion Just like that is yours! :D

Can't argue with the "looks" that's really up to anyone. :) About the "power", i'd go to Germany or Italy before America, America has allways been capable of getting a very big litre engine, but still getting a very small amount of HP, example: The old Camaro, 5,7 litre engine, pumping out just about 190HP. Europe and Asia got that HP from a damn lawnmower. But i can't really argue with you, A LOT of people like American Muscle cars, and.. i'm running out of space.. Read my other comment.

"GTR only car" i strongly disagree, it might be the best supercar ever made, but not the only super/sports cars to come out of Japan and asia. examples: Honda NSX, Mitsubishi 3000GT, Several EVO's and Imprezas, Many Skylines, the Tommy Kaira ZZII and several others. Sure, it might not be as impressive as Italy's list, or Germanys, but it still doesn't suck.
But all of this is just a matter of opinion, of course. :)

well i think the best super car competition is between the gtr and the zr1, althought the gtr is cheaper the zr1 performs better, but its a matter of opinion that the perfromance gain from the zr1 justifies the other 20 ish grand

Yep all fair points, it does preform better. But i do beleive that if i got to drive them both, i'd preform better in the GTR, so much more controlled. I'm not a racing driver, so i don't care "that" much of the preformance, it's just for showing off. (for me), and i need the backseats too. And it's also a lot better made than the 'Vette. Much more "user friendly" in every way. But i do also like the Corvette, don't get me wrong, it's brilliant. :)

Yup, Sure, some are ricers. But I'm not about to call 2 multiple WRC champions just a bag of nuts and bolts y'know. They have earned their cred. An NSX,as I said, quite underpowered. But a worthy opponent to Ferraris (348 and 355) in its heyday - not something to sneeze at ain't it?
And a GTR - well, not everybody has Schumacher skills (like you I presume, from the tone). But when less skiled drivers wanna go fast, I bet my last dollar that they wanna survive the experience.

Most of the cars that were mentioned have earned the right to be called great cars. A Subi and an Evo have won countless times in very the harsh world of rally racing.
An NSX, even with just 290hp, has excellent power-to-weight ratio. The LF-A is classified as a supercar like the GT-R. The Furai is downright scary and insane.
Oh, and there's the IS-F - a commendable rival to the venerable BMW M3.
