  • Finally! What I have been looking for! I regularly use VHF2L combined with parts from intuitive ZBF2L, and COLL. I've constantly been on the search for this F2LL method - as I'm good at turning things from algorithms into intuitive steps (it sounds intuitive since you said it was 2 gen). Thanks!

  • F2LL stands for "first two AND last layer"

  • hey weston ;p ,

do you know all of these algs

  • hhahah this is great to have oll skip in every solve it's very fast i think

  • en que cosnosiste tu video no entiendo?

  • well....this beats learning 57 oll cases -_-

  • @EdgeRebirth yeah, 54 - 57, big difference

  • looks cool,do u use this often?

  • What are the mirror case algs?? or where can i find them?

  • I'd like to see someone that uses OLLCP. It's full OLL and you permute the corners simultaneously. Right now my method is VHF2L, then COLL, then an easy EPLL. Well, I'm still learning VHF2L and COLL, but I'm working my way up to full ZB.

  • I don't find this worthwhile. By the time you identify and execute this case, it would take the same amount of time to simply insert the pair and execute the full OLL.

  • @Partylikeaturtle i think its awesome and if you are good enough it might be worth it. i talked to a guy who learned this and dropped 6 seconds from 20 to 14

  • zg has 800 cases. is the human brain even capable of memorizing 800 algorithms?

  • This variation doesn't go with Fridrich!

It only works with the ZZ method or the Petrus method, because at this stage of the solve, all your edges would be oriented. So orienting the corners would complete your OLL.

  • @kilroy1964 Well you could use it with fridrich. You wouldn't always get an OLL skip though. What you could do is Winter Variation for last slot. Then Cpeoll then epll.

  • I might learn this. Though I doubt I'll change my method any. I'm gonna start learning CLL soon, and there's that ZBF2L sheet sitting on my desk.

Know what? Fuck it. I'm gonna just practice till I'm sub20, and once I'm avging like 12 I'll think about this. Right now, it's practice practice practice. And occasionally finding a new OLL or PLL. I haaAt

  • so the forced oll skip applies to petrus and zz only?

  • Is this fast in speedcubing?

  • you know cls?

  • I know Erik Akkersdijk invented/learned this method waay back, but without orienting the edges, and solved the LL in one go from there. Not sure if he managed to learn all the algs for that, but he surely did know a whole bunch of them.

  • I have complete edge control on last layer, if i learn this do you think the OLL skip is worth it?

  • I say vh is better

  • I think 27 F2LL is better than 54 OLL and if you know how to apply it it would be very useful

  • this is pointless with petrus since there are only about 7 OLL cases which is better than 27 in F2LL

  • Awesome! I'm going to try and find all 2 gen algs for this, and maybe apply it to Fridrich.

  • Can you show us how to get the OLL skip every time?

  • there would be more cases for that than there are OLL.

  • It's easy to do it but I found my self losing some time looking at the cube :|

  • is this like ss

  • 1:18 is a relly bad oll alg. there is a much better one. r U R' U' r' R U R' U'

  • dont call me stupid but at 1:55 how did he fix those edges so fast without making a "y" turn or at least from his angle front or back turns. were they already good or what.

  • you could also do that with 2x2!

  • I may try this.

  • At 1:17:

    r U R' U' (r'R) U R U' R' would probably make it worth working for...

  • dang. the website doesn't have mirrors.

  • Check out Westons "How to alter/mirror algorithms". Should help you. =)

  • This would have some use in Roux as well to finish off the right side block, would it not?

  • actaully it would that way you only need 2 cmll cases

  • I thought so. I only ask because I'm learning Roux Method, and I remembered this method. for the F2L. Thanks!

  • thats almost the same as zb f2l in which you put in the last f2l pair and orient the last layer edges at the same time

  • you got zz method all wrong

    ;)

  • This makes me more confused! O_o

  • that's what she said at :41

  • hey westonian!!

    wassup!?!?

here's a lil advice from one prominent youtuber to another:

POST SUM VIDEOS SHOWIN A LIL SKIN!!!

GIV DA LADIES A REASON TO LOOK AT UR PAGE!!!!!

DO SUMTHIN EROTIC WIT THOSE CuBEZZ!!!!

    <3, yours truly, Mr.warpspawn

  • is it worth it to invest in an edison? i mean they look the same as any normal type-a...

  • its not about how they look, its about how they turn.

    and yes

  • oh, well the reason i thought that was because i saw a vid comparison of the edison cubies to the type-a cubies and they were identical...

so the only differences would be the plastic itself and maybe the core/screws/springs?

  • im not really sure.

i think its more about how the corners, edges and the core pieces fit into each other and work together.

  • wow thats what i hate about different cubes.. youre not always sure until youve gotten information from the manufacturing source.. which is never available..online i guess

  • Comment removed

  • so are you really highly complex?

  • very good explanation. Btw, I'm puzzlemaster from speedsolving.

  • Nice vid! I knew about this, but didn't bother learning it... It is probably pretty useful though.

What do you think about " ROLL" that's also listed on the site?

  • why not just orient edge instead of corner? Just orient edge and perform CLS :P

Any advantage of this method?? Make a video like F2L Variation explained 5/5

  • i shall just explain it to you here in stead of another video!

    lol

well, first of all, CLS has 104 cases, this has 27.

an advantage to this method is, if you are good at edge controlling, which i am able to do about 30 percent of solves, if you know these algs, you can get an OLL skip. and by the way, i am learning CLS. :p

  • helps a bit :d Example solves?

  • Thats interesting. Good video.

  • so i use petris so if i do this will i get an oll skip every time?

  • yessir.

and also, if you use petrus, you dont need to learn the mirrors

  • see you at the recital

    tell me bout it there

  • I thought that this was called VH

  • lol nope

thats when you orient the edges

and there are tons of algs for that

  • actually i believe there are only about 8-9 more than WV lol.

  • i wonder if this is a good idea:

do f2l or petrus for 2 slots (2x2x3)

then orient the edges, insert the back pair and than insert the last pair in the front using these algorithms

this way you don't even have to learn the mirrors of these algorithms

but how fast could it be?

  • super fast it think

    maybe even super duper fast

lol i have no idea what im saying but i think it could be fast

  • If you learn these maybe you only need to learn OLL that has corner oriented :o

  • i only use 1 of the F2LL cases which gives a force OLL skip, the recognition for the rest of the cases isnt for me.

  • yeah recognition can be kind of tricky but im learning CLS which has similar recognition so i think itll be all right

  • hm quite interesting, reminds a bit of ZB or MGLS, although I think you should use a mix of all algs, depending on your situation. If only there weren't so many....

  • The first saturday guest on the fiveawesomecubers channel did a video on this

  • no she didnt.

she showed some CLS cases and some cases to preserve OLL.

    this is a little different

  • man I am so learning this.

  • really useful right?!

    im learning this after CLS

because cls can force a lot of OLL skips too.

let me know if you find any better algs for any of the cases.

i took a quick look at them and they all looked pretty good

  • GREAT

  • Thats it, i'm going to:

-Stick to and improve my Fridrich F2L up to the first two slots

    - Use Petrus edge orientation to orient the final 7 edges

-Use F2LL to generate OLL skip

    -Use Regular PLL

    = OWNAGE.

  • cool! let me know how that goes after you practice a little

  • In ZZ you orient all edges and make a "line" from DF to DB in the first step, EOLine. Thanks for the video, more poeple need to know about the Winter Variation.

  • Yes, 26! That's less than the OLLs I have to learn, I'm SO learning this!

  • WHOA!! NICE!!!!

  • Thanks for the video! I may learn these after CLL.

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa no more 57 algs

  • Actually, it's still gonna be 57 algs.. srry. 27 cases 54 if you add mirrors, and then the 3 OLLs ur gonna need to learn anyway. Though mirrors are easy.

  • thanks! this will help a lot

  • Weston, Weston!

    Your alg sucks!

    Use this one!

    r U R' U' M U R U' R'

  • :( I was gonna tell him that one. Lol, that's the one I use.

  • ah its the inverse of the opposite unoriented one!

that alg was actually the 4th alg i ever learned in a terrible LL system

    lol

  • what do you like better the c4y or the edison

  • I've always wondered what Winter Variation was, but I never bothered looking it up. :P

  • it actually nice almost like mgls

  • nice

  • never knew about this method :P

  • nobody does!

pochmann didnt, i asked dakota, lance, sarah.

nobody knew about it so i made a video :p

  • lol, thanks for the vid

  • I knew I Im learning the last class no corners oriented

  • one out of many people :p

  • I know its 23 or 25 cases

  • lolexplanation of ZZ :p

  • it said 0 views 4 me

  • ha im first

  • Woo first

  • first :D

  • FuCK!!

  • FAIL

  • first view yes its my first time
