  • Its a shame we don't get to see the whole picture.

But hey, its from the 60's and besides, anyone with a PC with a DVD drive can watch their flims with no overscan. Too bad for LD's though as my 19 inch Vizio has some overscan. My 23 inch Acer PC monitor with 1080P plus my Samsung Blu Ray disc drive was my 1st time watching Blu Rays with all the picture information

  • the convergance is very good to good how you do it

  • I'd of been -27 when this TV was made. wow.

  • Junk Ha? These sets were hand crafted...and built to last a really long time. the quality and workmanship has disappeared. I have been working on TV's since the 1960's .

  • Bravo !

  • now that is a picture!ctc 15 and 16s were the best roundies ever made.the zeniths were good too,but i ll take these.great set!

  • @gurutimes2

You're another insulting dunce I can ban. Thank you and goodbye.

  • My dad's parents had a set just like this one. Beautiful picture. Have enjoyed your videos.

  • Most likely the best tube type color TV ever made. Had the best S/N color of any set, any brand. Use to put Sylvania 21bp22a blue face test tubes for a super picture.

  • Can you do a vid of the converter box like setting it up with a old tv

  • I Had A Few Of These 21" Round Tube TV"S When I Was A Teen,Got Them From A Local TV Shop For Parts In The 80's,They Had A Ton Of Them To Get Rid Of And I Ended Up Breaking The Picture Tube's.I Was Only Interested In Rectangular TV Set's At The Time,Now I am Interested In Them Now! NICE RESTORE JOB--THANKS---TOM.S

  • Такой смешной голос)), но все-равно РЕСПЕКТ!

  • I have an RCA console tv with solid state stereo it has a ctc 16 chassis do you need parts

  • I have an RCA console tv with solid state stereo it has a ctc 16 chassis do you need parts

  • Congratulations on the rebuild - clean chassis, beautiful adjustments that yield a great picture! Super!

  • all numbers match LOL like a vintage car.

mine has all original RCA tubes as well

  • thats a cool TV I have the same TV but it is a CTC20-A 1965

  • I really enjoy your videos -

  • Looks like it's built a lot better than the cheaply built LCD's manufactured today.

  • What is that box beside the insignia box? subs....?

  • Thats a cool TV! I have an RCA New Vista B&W,I believe from 1965.The dial configuration looks alot like this one,but the screen is more square than round. Maybe its a newer set? How easy (or hard) is it to get tubes for these TV's?Its cool to have one of these around esspecially to watch retro TV on!

  • Great job dude!

  • why is it caller 16 color?

  • Excellent demonstration of the TV. I always enjoying seeing these older TVs stay preserved with complete restortaion. How hard is it to bring a picture tube back to life. I have a Tekinka TV (rare manufacturer) where the picture tube is loosing its focus. The other night I turned it on and it was very fuzzy, but then it cleared up after running it for about 30 minutes. Also I get some "blue bleed" when the contrast is at full intensity with biight whites.

  • WOW! I remember seeing the pictures of this when it first came out of the house. It cleaned up beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen a better picture on a roundie, well maybe some of the Zeniths you got kicking around are that good too but wow.

  • I really like that you preserve these older TVs. And you make it seem so easy to do.:)

  • Excellent set,

I used to own one of these. The only difference

was that it was a floor model. The model I had

was little more than the table version with legs

    on it.

  • how did you get such a good pitcher

  • it is great to see someone to keep these set alive and do top notch work on them. i myself collect hallicrafters recievers best one in my collection is a 1947 SX42 . wished you lived closer to maryland would have you align it for me LOL. keep up the great work.

    steve

  • Wonderful job.

Interesting that you mention that the 6JU8s are almost always bad. How many other tubes are there like that? I recall that our family's Magnavox console used to eat 6GH8As like they were going out of style.

  • Looks great!

Do you have a TV in your collection that is your favorite to use?

  • @Maxxarcade

    Thanks-

my favorite TV is probably my 1970 Zenith 12A12C52.

  • The good old days! Makes me want to go looking for one of the old tube type TVs to restore and play with. Thanks much!!

  • I miss analog! :( It ashamed you can't enjoy how well the tuners were built on these old sets anymore.

  • Hi Doug, I love the old tv videos. I'm 43 yrs old, & I remember wheri my gram had a Rca Victor ctc 16. It brings back alot memories with my gram. Can''t wait to see the ctc 38 going. Please keep them coming. Dave from Massachusetts!! PS, I also have the Insignia DTV converter, works great!!

  • Doug, Absolutely beautiful restoration and a great find. Just wish I could find a set to restore with a round tube up here in Wisconsin. Great Job.

  • Looks factory new! Did it say where it was made--Bloomington, IN, Camden, NJ or Indianapolis?

  • Really, who needs an expensive HDTV that might not even make two years?!!

  • totally outstanding work,i am in awe every time

i watch a new video from you!thanks so very much.

  • What a beautiful restoration job. It's an absolute work of art. Nothing surpassed RCA at its best, IMO, even non-vintage sets. I have a 1989 19" RCA stereo TV that's still going strong, after 15 moves, drops, bangs, etc - and the best sound quality of any TV I've ever had. I also bought a 27" Trinitron in excellent shape off Craigslist for $40.00. Energy Star rated no less. Psh with flat screens, the high res ones give me migraines anyway.

  • Perfect TV. I don't need HD TV either. I do own only one in my bedroom since my bedroom is so small. I have a vintage TV in my kitchen and a round tube to be restored for the basement. The living room has a used projection TV that I rebuilt. I don't like to have to wait for TVs to change channels. Now 3D TVs are coming out but I wont buy one.

  • That was the lost episode of Mitch Miller, right?

    Seriously, though, great job.

  • Beautiful picture and colors... it's like looking right through a window!

  • Excellent series of videos, and a beautiful TV as well. Always enjoy spending time on your channel here.

  • It looks 3D at times !!!

  • Could you make a video showing how you set up the purity / convergence?

  • You have an amazing gift... I swear, you must've been a TV technician in a previous life... remarkable work...

  • Wow that tv has amazing picture. I think it might actually beat my Mitsubishi tv I've been using for years. And just another observation, it appears that you somehow fixed the picture from stretching and shrinking depending on the brightness. If you have time, could you make a video showing how to fix that? It's no problem if you don't because it's no big deal.

  • nice tv, can you hook it up to a outdoor antenna to see how it dose with the low power stations

  • Fantastic picture!

  • Amazing sharp picture with great color. I used to have a CTC5, it lasted until the mid 90's, in use for about 40 years. Never more than a couple of tubes replaced in all that time. I never was able to get the convergence anywhere near as good as you have on this set. Thought that was as good as it could be. You showed what it should have been.

  • What a great picture. Good job saving another piece of vintage technology/
