If you are using premiere pro, it should accept .mov movies. It could either be crashing because of your operating System or your computer specs. but there is a slight chance it just won't accept .mov which it weird. the only way around that is converting the .mov movies to .mpeg or .avi.
Can you Post your OS and System Specs, cause it may not be editing softwares fault at all.
