  • I AM THE MASTER OF THE MECHANICAL STUFF!!!! AND I HAVE TO HELP YOU; THE MASTER OF THE STUPID STUFF!!!!

I will admit I did enjoy that line.

  • 4:02 wicked Chicago accent

  • Why the fck did people have something out for Costner during this time? Siegel states he doesn't think Costner had made a decent film since 'Dances with Wolves' at the time of this review? Well what of Clint Eastwood's 'A Perfect World' which to this day has one of the all-time best Costner performances?? Fcking idiot. I guess people were so perturbed around this time that Costner got so superfamous in such a short amount of time, 87- 90, that they felt the need to bring him down on some level.

  • problem with Inspector Gadget was the casting. You don't pick Mathew Brodderick to do physical comedy. the guy is hilarous in little clever moments. you pick Jim Carey for the over-the-top stuff.

  • I herd that Jakob The Liar was so bad Robin Williams has apologizes 4 it

  • I was 14. Wild Wild West was the movie we would buy tickets to so we could actually sneak in to see American Pie, South Park and Eyes Wide Shut.

  • I enjoyed Jakob The Liar.

  • Poor Kevin Costner

  • 'Inspector Gadget' would have been better as an animated film. 'Wild Wild West' was dreadful and Robin Williams should still be embarrassed about 'Jakob the Liar.'

  • I LOVE WILD WILD WEST!!!

  • Ebert & segel have no taste what so ever

Inspector gadget is one of the best

    Techno film for kids

  • errr, jaw dropping......not a phrase u really need to be using these days is it ebert ha ha

  • 3:27 R2D2 sample. Yet another reason why 'My Favorite Martian' sucked balls!

  • where the hell is phantom menace?

  • 8:32 That globe is near my house. And it doesn't look like that anymore.

  • Forces of Nature: What an uneven comedy. Was it a comedy? Was it a drama? I don't know what the hell this was. It's a road movie about a man who tries to get to his wedding but takes Free spirit Sandra Bullock along for the ride. There is a sense of romance...I think but it's never explored and never happens. I couldn't wrap my head around it. What exactly was this movie about? Ambiguous, no. *1/2

  • The Story of Us: Now this is a movie that had too many misunderstandings from the audience.I loved this movie for the terrific performances and Rob Reiner made a character study upon a marriage on the rocks. I enjoyed the subtle humor and frank dialogue during the realistic arguments. It's something that shows that love can bloom again even through the hurt. ***

  • Inspector Gadget: Congratulations, Disney for taking away my childhood memories of this movie. Matthew Broderick was an enormous miscast of a silly character like Gadget. Where in the world was the ending? It just ended after 80 min of torture. *1/2

My Favorite Martian: You want to see the movie that ended Christopher Lloyd and Elizabeth Hurley's career in one single blow. See this bland, tired, stupid family film. Jeff Daniels, wow. Thank goodness you can do drama. *1/2

  • Did he say he ate 3 jars of tomato sauce?

  • @betweenthreeislands he's no Siskel

  • @joemj413 But he's good.

  • I'm always surprised that "(Siskel &) Ebert's" worst of are (unfortunately) shown frequently on TV than their best ofs.

  • Wow. Joel Siegel was actually pretty funny/clever.

  • These movies really suck.

  • @thegunclub123 Compare to the worst movies of the last couple of years, these movies are way better, unfournately

  • Bought three JARS of tomato sauce and ate them right out of the CAN... what?

  • "My Favorite Martian" is a TV remake, without question, but for fans of Christopher Lloyd (of which I am one) it is a good movie.

  • recycling anything because the name is familiar and thereby assumes a financial sure thing; I'm sure glad hollywood didn't turn that into a trend or anything...

  • I actually loved Forces of Nature and Story of Us. Message in a Bottle isn't bad either. Definitely with them on Inspector Gadget though.

  • suprised roger didn't point out that story of us reunited the team of north willis director reiner and writer alan zwebel

  • man the intro feels so empty and lonely =(

  • I remember seeing Inspector Gadget in the theater when I was a kid and it being the first experience in which I was cognizant of the fact that I was watching a terrible movie.

  • Obviously neither of them knows Jakob the Liar is a remake.

And that the original was Oscar-nominated.

And that the whole point of the story was how only fools hope for miracles, including the viewer who hopes for a happy ending and doesn't get one.

But you wouldn't expect a couple of Hollywood fags to know anything about real movies.

  • @kozmon0t @kozmon0t What does anything you said have to do with their review? They argue that the film is full of factual errors and bad emotional manipulations. Being a remake, the original being Oscar nominated or the point of the film have nothing to do with those complaints. Plus Chicago is not Hollywood....also aren't you a little old to be using the "fag" retort to get your point across? I would expect a seasoned real movie goer to have a broader grasp of the English language.

  • the intro just isn't the same w/o Siskel. :(

  • Sad,Siegal died a couple of years of Cancer too.

  • LOL why you hatin on Pokemon?? ¬¬ Yeah the film was pretty bad but the cartoons and the games are awesome!

  • I remember seeing Inspector Gadget in theaters. It's just OK but could of been better.

  • Feels good to see them hate Martian and Gadget. I HATED Martian. It's the reason I don't watch "comedies" in the theater anymore.

  • Both Martian and gadget were aweful. I loved gadget the cartoon.

  • "What would the Worst Of be without a Kevin Costner movie" truer words were never spoken.

  • at 3:27 it sounds like r2d2 when he gets shot

  • @tvnutboy I quit watching half-way through Roeper's attendance. Gene and Roger had the touch, but I haven't seen that type of interaction since... including Ebert's current effort.

  • I thought Inspector Gadget was wayyyyyy worse than My Favorite Martian.

  • what happen to the beginning of the music

  • @timetravelhyman88 When Gene Siskel died, Disney had to go with a new theme and intro.

  • I gotta say, Siegel was my favorite pre-Roeper critic.

  • @norsketown But he's below Siskel, obviously. ;)

  • Gotta love the intro :)

  • I have never been able to find worst of 2000 does anybody remember what their picks for the worst movie of that year? I'm guessing either ebert or roeper or possibly both picked battlefield earth as the worst movie of the year

  • So Ebert didn't like Inspector Gadget but he didn''t hate My Favorite Martian?

  • @hackensac I haven't seen Inspector Gadget since I was 8, but it was my absolute favourite movie as a child and I remember watching it at least once a week. So it has a special place in my books!

  • @hackensac He gave thumbs down to My Favorite Martian but had some sympathy for it.

  • @Headbanger142 while Siegel said it Gadget wasn't as bad as My Favorite Martian, opposite opinions
