  • Awesome video and sick car!

Next time leave that music out...

  • @Lokstock220 - Thank you very much for the compliments. I did all the photography and my middle son mixed the video for me. The first time I tried to upload it Youtube killed the audio due to a music copyright. My oldest son is a musician, so I grabbed one of his demos and put it in the video. Thanks again for watching my video.

  • Spintech's are the best.

  • @SupremeGforce - I totally agree. I bought my Spintechs back in 2009 and have not had any regrets. They are fantastic mufflers. Thanks for watching my video.

  • I'm more of a Trans Am enthusiast myself but I have a lot of respect for the Camaro. Can't have one without the other.

  • @nevbot222 - One of my good friends back in the day had a 1970 Formula Firebird. That lucerne blue rocket sold me on F bodies. I was actually looking for a firebird when I found my Z28. It only had 58,000 miles on it when I bought it, definitely love at first sight. Thanks for watching my video.

  • I would love to have a car like that ... I just can't find it anywhere =/

  • @MiseryShoeStudios - Cars like mine are pretty common here in the US. The older Camaros (1969-1973) are getting expensive, but the big bumper Camaros (1974-1981) are still pretty reasonable. If you can't find a Camaro, stuff a big old V-8 in some local iron and lay some rubber. Thanks for taking the time to watch my video.

  • @dmans1978camaro Well, to be honest, thats the main problem. I'm from Europe. :D There are not many muscle/amercian cars here, which is a shame, and the ones that are for sale, are expensive as hell. :|

  • @MiseryShoeStudios - Same thing here in the States. We have this big Barrett - Jackson auction on TV where rich guys pay big bucks for old muscle cars. Now everybody thinks their car is worth a fortune. Pretty much puts the best cars out of reach for the rest of us. The late 70's and early 80's cars are still pretty reasonable. How about stuffing a V-8 in an old sports car? I used to have a 1977 MGB with a 215 Buick aluminum V-8 and a 5 speed. That car was a blast to drive.

  • @dmans1978camaro Well, getting an old sports car is also a pain to do (I'm from Slovenia), there aren't not many of them and they are truly overpriced. What I have now is a Volvo 460 :) Getting a V8 is also really hard. I think I haven't seen any yet.

  • @MiseryShoeStudios - Check out the OutlawAnglia123 Youtube channel. He is one of my Youtube friends in England. That should give you a few ideas. Over here in the States guys fix up all kinds of cars, American, Japanese, European...doesn't really matter what you start with as long as you like it. Fast is fast, regardless of the make. Time slips don't lie. If you can't get a V-8, mail order a supercharger, a turbo, or a nitrous kit for your Volvo and have some fun.

  • @dmans1978camaro Thanks for the info, I'll check it out. The hunt for a V8 began! :D

  • @MiseryShoeStudios - Good luck for your search. Look up My old V8 Volvo on Youtube to watch a couple V8 Volvos tearing it up. That should give you some inspiration.

  • that thing sounds sexy

  • @pwnageness - Thank you for the compliment. I don't think anyone has called my car sexy before, I like it. Thanks again for taking the time to watch my video.

  • nice car. i got a camaro myself they are great cars.

whats the name of this song?

  • @91carlos22 Thank you for the compliment. The song is called "I'm So Sci-Fi" by my son's old band SketchCity. You can still check it out on their MySpace page (under music) SketchCity Seattle. Thanks again for watching my video.

  • Nice looking and sounding car.

  • @judgegixxer - Thanks for the compliment. That's 449hp breathing through Spintech mufflers. I checked out a couple of your videos. That bike is hell of fast...and the 1LE video was pretty cool too. Thanks for watching my video.

  • i had a friend with a 78 camaro they he had put a edelbrock 383 into, cool car for sure

but its stock suppension was left. i have never felt a car that had so much damn axle hop off the line and axle twist on gear shifts. lol left like you had a wet noodle for a axle.

  • @1a2b3cdf3 - Yep....stock leaf springs wrap up pretty easy. Urethane bushings, traction bars and subframe connectors make a BIG difference. Thanks for watching my video.

  • sounds great

  • @123ksmr - The Spintech mufflers give my car a real aggressive sound. Thanks for watching my video.

  • i have an 81 and was wondering what size wheels and tires on the front and rear. thanks in advance

  • @treytrotterstudent - I'm running the stock 15x7 rims (4.25"backspace) with 245/60/15 tires all around. It handles really well. Thanks for watching my video.

  • Even if I am a Ford guy I love these cars I remember when I got mine when i was 8 best $500 spent nice car by the way

  • @rmnprr1 - That's my first thumbs up from a Ford fan. Thank you very much!

  • @dmans1978camaro You Know as long as its an American muscle car I don't really care even if people fight over Chevy and Ford ,Dodge Its a car that can beat a ricer any day

  • @rmnprr1- I agree! There's nothing better than the sound of a nasty V-8.

  • @dmans1978camaro I turned mine on today after about a year sweetest sound I ever heard.

  • Nice! I am 16 and just bought my first car (1978 Z/28) and I am deciding between a glasspack by cherry bomb muffler or a spintech like you have. Any recomendations? What model is your spintech? I work at a body shop and saw this come in, I put down all that I had saved to buy the car, and am now restoring it! Hopefully will have it on the road by summer! Great vid btw!

  • @STUTTGART6 - Cherry Bomb mufflers have a very different sound. They kind of make a rapping or popping sound when you lay into it. Not bad, just different. I have Flowmasters on my daily driver, and I like the sound of the Spintechs on my Camaro much better. I am running Spintech Sportsman Street XLF (P/N 3444XLF) mufflers on my Z28. Good luck with your new Z28!!!! Thanks for watching my video.

  • @STUTTGART6 nice, im 17 and restoring a 78 z28 myself. the one i have was custom made by chevy for the previous owners uncle. its a sweet car, sounds amazing but interior and exterior needs alot of work. im hoping to have mine ready by summer too.

  • Sounds great man. Can't wait til summer and I can get my car back on the road...

  • @Wojoray - I swear by Spintech mufflers. They build a great product. Funny thing is they told me the mufflers I bought are the quietest they make. Can't imagine what the loudest must sound like! Thanks again for watching my video.

  • I actually own a 78 camaro myself (20 in march) it was and still is my first car.. it's sitting in the backyard with the frontend off getting ready for a new subframe and engine that i'm building... my question being on the 350 small block these came with they came with a 700 cfm quadrajet.. why go down to the 650 cfm? the only real reson i could see this would be for daily drivability

  • @NasferatuTheImmortal - The machine shop that built my motor originally installed a 800cfm Holley racing carb....it worked great under wide open throttle on the dyno, but sucked on the street. I took my car to one of our local carb gurus, he used a chassis dyno to tune a 650cfm Holley DP for my car. It works much better on the street. I've even made a few quarter mile passes and it has never starved for fuel. Thanks for watching my video.

  • @dmans1978camaro no worries, and thanks for your input. I like to get whatever opinions i can because i'm still learning a fair bit about doing these builds.

  • @NasferatuTheImmortal - I'm 46 and still learning everyday. Find a good mechanic, engine builder or old school speed shop and ask questions. I have found that you can learn a lot if you take the time to really listen. There are some very talented people out in the world and they don't mind sharing if you treat them with respect. That's how my Camaro was built. I asked some of the best people in my area to help me.

  • @dmans1978camaro Yea, i'm actually learning most of what i know from my family, my great uncle has an extremely successful auto shop in new york and my father and most of my family on his side all do mechanical work to some degree or another... the only problem is that in this day and age you cant hang around shops to much for insurance reasons and they dont hire many apprentices in this town and favor to votec students doing internships instead

  • @NasferatuTheImmortal - Your Camaro is sweet, I like the color combo. Sounds like you are off to a great start...your Uncle should be your new best friend. Taking auto mechanics at a vocational school or a community college is another way to get experience too.

  • @dmans1978camaro Yea, i'm rebuilding the whole front end atm because i had a woman pull out of a lot and hit me with no insurance... 30 minutes after i had the gold Z28 stripes put on. I'm hoping to have the car back on the road with the new nose, fender, inner fender, engine, and subframe by late march. I'm driving a 75 malibu in the meantime.

  • @dmans1978camaro, No problem :) I can't wait until I get my license!!! 3 more years

  • @TheHyperkid97 - That's a very exciting time. I still remember my first car, a 1963 Volkswagen Bug. I thought it was soooooo cool!

  • When you buy a kick-ass car, make a youtube account to show it of!

  • @TheHyperkid97 - Thank you for the compliment, in a few years you can have a cool car on Youtube too. Hopefully it will be a Camaro!

  • these is why we love american cars ~!

  • @BIGVIK1000 - Thank you very much. I've been working on this car for 14 years, it's a great feeling to know other people enjoy seeing it.

  • Your vehicle is a work of art sir, trully beautiful. Thanks for posting this video but i must say, once this music started playing i laughed uncontrollably for a good minute :D

  • @RSprtn117 - Thank you for the compliment. This video was my first attempt at Youtube. The music I chose the first time was removed by the powers that be (copyright laws I figure). The only non commercial music I had at the time was my oldest boys gangster rap demo CD. It had to do in a pinch. If you watch some of my other videos, or cruise my favorites you can get a better feel for my taste in music. Thanks again for watching my video.

  • @dmans1978camaro No disrespect to the music involved haha, i just found it so unpredictable that 30 seconds into a muscle car video i would be hearing kid rappers as oppossed to the likes of led zepplein or some other rock group. Just a thought haha.

  • @RSprtn117 - My oldest boy grew up listening to classic rock and heavy metal.....now he's a gangster rapper (that's his group in the video). I was kind of turned off by it at first, but when I was young I listened to anything that would piss off my parents, so I get it now. His rap music is a two bird salute to establishment.

  • i'm getting a 78 lt in a few weeks. it's still all original. even has the 8 track.

  • @b3r3tta95 - Very cool! I have owned my Z28 since 1996 and have had a lot of fun with it over the years. It was bone stock when I bought it, now it's more of a hot rod. Good luck with your new car and thanks for watching my video.

  • beautiful machine

  • @emmettw100 - Thanks for the compliment and taking the time to watch my video.

  • that thing sounds...............AWESOME!

  • @darter1075 - Thanks for the compliment. I am running Spintech Sportsman XLF mufflers with a full 3 inch exhaust system. Call Ron at Spintech to order a set. I like the sound much better than Flowmasters. Thanks again for watching my video!

  • Where can I get this song? I can't find it anywhere, do you know the name or artist?

  • @slipknot11080 - That is my son's band, they are called Sketch City. The last time I looked they had a myspace page under Sketch City (Seattle).

  • @dmans1978camaro thanks im really liking this song, do they have a cd out yet? that sounds perfect on the video like they have already recorded in a studio. -josh

  • @slipknot11080 - I have a demo CD of that song. If you can't download from the myspace page, I would suggest contacting them for a CD. I will ask if they have any commercially yet. Let me know how it goes. Thanks for your interest.

  • @dmans1978camaro - Go to Myspace under music....type in Sketch City. The song is called "I'm so sci-fi". Looks like you can purchase it from there.

  • nice, my dad had a 78' Z28 with a gail banks 350, side pipes, a aftermarket front spoiler and he had it hand painted like the rally sport paint job (no stickers).

  • @spyfox9999 Thank you spyfox9999 - I like the side pipes on second generation camaros....looks like a vette. I was going more for the sleeper vibe with my car. I did have all the disco stickers removed like your dad and used 1974 chrome emblems. Thanks again for watching my video.

  • thats what i want my 79 z28 to be one day, even own to the color, its a project but she runs and drives great with a 383 right now. i just need some paint and gears. very nice ride.

  • @slipknot11080 Thanks for the compliment. My Z28 is built to be driven. Last Saturday I was on my way to a local car show and ended up at a light with a high end billet blinging street rod. I left that light two gears sideways. Poor guy probably had to detail his car again. Snicker

  • i got a 1980 z28 350 vortec heads 1.6 rockers headers perfomer rpm intake comp cam 270h but i dnt got trans yet or gears i got videos of it stock but no video of the new motor it runs good for stock trans and gears

  • I've heard lots of good things about those vortec heads. I bet it moves out pretty good! Thanks for watching my video.

  • im 12 my dad got my a z28 at a boneyard

  • Very cool. Restoring a car will give you and your dad some great memories. Thanks for watching my video.

  • SWEET.............Lets trade vehicles for the weekend - you take my truck and I get the Z.........

  • Throw in your sister and you got a deal.....

  • Very nice Z28 !

You seem to have a great engine. Amazing sound (big cams ?)

  • Thank you - the engine is running a solid lifter cam around.570" lift ( pretty big for a street car ). The aggressive sound is a combination of the large cam and a free flowing exhaust system with Spintech mufflers. Thanks again for watching my video.
