wow this is so real and sad i know my mom has told me if she knew like they said about sickle cell and being a carrier that i would have never been here and me i believe that i will not have children i can adopt cause i would never want a kid to suffer with ss
I think I understand Hanna a bit. My brother and I have gone through life being stigmatized for having sickle cell. At school people who knew about it told us we would never live passed our teenage years. The teachers hardly understood us. So it's not too surprising that we hide our disease as much as we can now. I guess people need to have a better understanding of these things...for that to happen we all need to stop hiding
