  • Just because Bach came from Europe, doesn't mean all Europeans are the best piano players. Where they come from has nothin to do with it. Whatsoever. I even live in Europe(England) and I do play piano, but am I better than everyone else because composers came from my continent? No.

  • @XPureSpiritX I don't say all. I'm just saying, that Europeans prefessional pianist can play it better, than other professional pianist, but yes, there can be exceptions. Yes, she's playing good, but if there was any Asian composer, some Europeans pianist will play it worse, than she, but she's playing Bach worse than for example some European pianist. I don't know, what is racist about it, it's just my view. Are you racist, because you are think, that black are best runners ? NO

  • Asians can't play our European music so good as we. For example - this is Bach on piano - I didn't hear dynamic. Asian can only copy copy copy copy

  • @bumtaratasmrt Who's "we"???????????? I mean, the Chinese pianist Lang Lang was fantastic!!!!!!!!!

  • @patpat1102 WE are the Europeans. This is our music :). Yes, Lang Lang was fantastic, but there are over 1,3 bilions Chinese in the world, it just hapen that some of them is fantastic. But we (better than Europeans is white people to say) have this music "in our blood". I think the most fantastic pianist are from Russia and the most famous composers are from Europe. What can you say to me now ? :-P...Sorry about my English, I know, many mistakes

  • @bumtaratasmrt Good music doesn't come from ethnicity, good music comes from inspirations and influences from culture and the individual's personal likes and dislikes. You are ignorant and racist. Just because someone happens to be different than you doesn't make them any better or worse than you. Everyone has the equal right to interpretation of a musical piece.

  • @ninetailnaruto341 You are ignorant. I'M just saying, that Europeans can play Bach etc. best in the world. If Bach was Asian, Asians can play it best in the world. Don't call me racist if you don't nothing about me. So please, shut up telling me, that I'm racist. I'm not full idiot, I play piano for a long time and bassguitare for half year.

  • @bumtaratasmrt You're a jerk. It's people like you that make the world worse than it has to be. You said she can't play dynamics in your previous comment, well great. There were no dynamics on a harpsichord. Ethnicity or as you said, 'blood', does not have anything to do with musical ability. Learn how to speak English before commenting. Maybe it would help your spelling to stop fingering your ass while typing.

  • @JohnnyMcMormon To the word blood, that is, how we say it in my country.

And that is all what you can ? Just vulgarisms ? So what, you don't have any other aguments so you have to show me, what a big dumbass you are ?

  • @ninetailnaruto341 PS: please read what i wrote before. There's nothiong racist about it.

  • little to fast

  • Asians...

  • @BringMeFrost What is so bad about Asains? I am one too!

  • She's concentrated. Not sad. Take it from a pianist. When I'm playing on piano, I don't smile -_-

  • To the person below me

Ad how would you know if you she didn't want to do it? Seriously, dude, fuck off.

  • AND SHe doesn't even look happy !!! you piece of... you know the rest

  • @Jkljkl2009 True, she looks tired and pressed. And this Bach piece is beautiful. I hope she's playing because she likes it, and not because of her parent's preasure. I also hope that her face is related to being in front of a camera.

    Anyway, she plays it well..

  • I am sick of Asians dominating all instruments... MAKE IT STOP LET YOUR DAMN CHILD DO WHAT HE/SHE WANTS TO DO!!

  • 3 top comments?

  • woah, impressive!

  • ,,,BRAVA,,,! :)

  • 好鬼勁

  • Who cares about how Bach wanted it. I play it, I do what I want.

  • [ Insert stupid and depressing comment about Asian superiority here ]

  • I prefer Harpischord, but good

  • >_>

  • Wow! She's so good, and so cute! I'm just learning this song.

  • I can play this one, too!

It takes me about twice as long, and I'm nowhere near that smooth...

On second thought, I don't think I can play this song.

    Hats off to you, Rachel!

  • even if it wasnt harphischord, does it need dynamics? i get the feeling that it operates like a machine and the patterns in pitch build up some sort of macrostructure that couldn't be made in real life. its awe inspiring and i dont think anyone needs to put emphasis on any specific parts because if any part was relatively lessened, the machine would break.

  • Asian

  • U better play young lady!!

  • o.o

  • Wonderful!

    REV 18

  • That kid kicks ass.

  • Wow, excellent! Such talent!

  • You are wonderful! What is your name?

  • That's pretty good for a little girl. I have one question- is she Korean, Japanese or Chinese?

  • ............I quit

  • excellent! it's wonderful. a real talent!

  • i'm inspired ♥

  • Nice playing, good interpretation.

Wonder how Bach would have played the piece himself?

  • harpsichord music indeed isn't intended to use dynamics, but it uses tempo variation instead, important notes are stretched just a tad longer and less important notes are played faster.

  • wonderful! Greetings Inge

  • amazing

  • Beautiful!! good 5 stars *****

  • Could have added some dynamics...with the lack of dynamics you're supposed to interpret it yourself

  • How dare she play this good! WHO does she think she is , Mozart?:)

  • Wow she's so good!! Wonderful playing!

  • this is so good! (:

    she's amazing!

haha i'm older and not quite this good but someone should come look at my video of this. just uploaded itt

  • good

  • omg i luv th sound of this one its probably my favorite

  • 49 of them couldn't do that when they are at such age.. maybe even now too.

  • Shes playing staccato

I made this mistake when first learning this piece, I thought the dots above the eighth notes were stacatto, until I found out in this piece its actually PORTATO. Staccato is a dot above notes without a slur line. This piece has the dots with the slur line. Bach intended these notes to be played to "carry" the piece and develop a cantible (song-like) style of playing.

Other than playing staccato when she should have played portato it's pretty well done for her age

  • @quantumgirl651 My piano teacher told me the same thing!! About the dynamics, harpsichords possibilities, etc!! :p

  • i see she has a tiger mom too. FORCE and TORTURE your kids to play piano at too early of an age. it SUX. they have NO friends and can't go outside and play, and tiger moms won't let their kids eat, sleep, drink, or go to the bathroom until the piece is PERFECT! and the kids don't go to bed until 1am, or until the piece is perfect. you parents SUX and should be JAILED for torturning your children.

  • @PianoTHIS Or she's actually really talented....

  • @XoLittleCadet the million dollar question...

  • @XoLittleCadet kids who are tortured don't want to evern SEE a piano when they grow up. google it.

  • FOR GOD...SHE´S JUST A CHILD!!!

  • You made my favorite piece of piano-music just sound even better!

  • Bach didnt write dynamics in many peices, but left to interpretation. The voice switches between hands and he likely would have played each hand louder or softer in order to voice the melody. If this peice is played without dynamics it can sound like a robot which i dont think bach intended...? Overall the whole peice has a ebb and flow quality which must have been intended by the composer, im sure he played it with dynamics available to him on the harpsichord.

  • has anyone ever heard of TERRACED dynamics? that, i assure you, there were....

  • wonderful! continue playing like that

  • asians ...

  • her mom that was filming didnt clap

  • omg i am having a hard time trying to learn this piece and yet this tiny little girl beats me, a freaking high schooler, so badly. x_x

  • puré ca fé é moi ke je lé jen sui meme pas a la moitier jsuis vraiment une nul, j'y arriverer jamais

  • GREAT TALENTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT-----------WHEW! keep it up young lady, you are an awesome pianist

  • *Whistles*

... I have officially been outdone by a girl that I'm twice as old as.

    How humiliating! But she's fantastic!

  • @Digipup4life Unless you mean to say that you're 5 years old, I think you meant to say, "Half your age." :D

    grammar nazi. :P

  • @irot3456 Oi! XD

  • @Digipup4life Lol, I'm sorry. :(

  • @irot3456 actually, digipup4life had it right... he/she said "i'm twice as old as." which would be correct. that would not mean she is 5 years old.

    -the real grammar nazi.

  • @blerg500 Oh, silly me. XD

    I reread it. I was WRONG. D:

    Thank you for correcting. :\

  • and ow girl, what do you play NICELEY ! really impressive work ! I would burst out of joy if I saw you doing this in real, really IMPRESSIVE WORK MISS !

  • tutorial please

  • @ EvanWang999 the fingering I use on this awkward passage starting on the 3rd beat would be 5, 5 2 1 2 5 2 1

  • 10/10

  • @ darkskin2009 you were correct she didn't play the dynamics quite like it was written. For the rest of you who say Bach didn't use dynamics, get some music theory. Bach was a genius. This girl did play it though the way it was meant to be played. Both hands are suppose to "talk" to each other. As one plays eighth notes softly the other is playing sixteenths loud. This piece is one that makes the musician have to split his/her mind. But still well done to this girl. I would give her a ten out o

  • she makes this look easy. in reality, it's an EXTREMELY difficult piece. shit.

  • I feel so overwhelmed and mesmerized right now..

  • 17 people are jealous

  • 47 people are jealous

  • Im just starting to play this piece for my Grade 6 piano exam. Any tips on how to practice and speed it up?? It's actually not that hard!

  • :~)

  • You are talented

  • 素晴らしい

  • Nice job! That was really good. You should add some loud and soft, crescendo and

diminuenco with this music will make a great masterpiece. I played this song a lot and my teacher taught me, adding crescendos and diminuencos and it came out much better than I used to play it.

  • Is that what we call a wonderchild or what? ;)

  • i can do that im god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • congragulations. My dream is to play like you. I would like to know your exercise program.

  • i've always loved this song but couldn't get the speed down. great job.

  • oh why are there sooooo many young chinese musicians I mean I thought they were technologic or something.... :o

  • just osom :D

  • omg, you're my idol....

  • 47 Justin Beliebers people xP!

  • i watch this religiously, this is by far the best video on youtube and you play it the best out of anyone ive ever seen!

  • oh my god!

  • i've been playing piano for almost 8 years and i still cant play like that

  • She's way better than Glen Gould...

  • At 0:13-0:15, there is an awkward part with some bizarre fingerings. If you have played this song before, what to do you use?

  • She is the next Sarah Chang- for the piano.

  • WOW.... She is amazing

  • Well done! Solid playing. As time goes by, you will learn about dynamics and structure. If you like Bach, listen to Glenn Gould and Rosalyn Tureck.

  • There's forte and mf in each bar, the first and third note.

  • ¡Joder cómo toca la nena!

  • Funny always an Asian!

  • Rofl, Asians push their children way too much. I'm as good as her, but probably 6 years older. :D

  • 46 people are jealous

  • plays well, but i feel sick and bad watching her face while she plays... some reason.

  • She's way into it... and I love her tempo. not too fast, not too slow : )

  • this is sick.. did she even have a childhood..?

  • @sannehuijbregts She's still in her childhood ? :s

  • @sannehuijbregts still a child...she'll have one of course! Some kids spend there time playing video games and watching Tv....others practice piano...both are rewarding in there own way. Deal with it.

  • Man she killed it! This is so boss! Very well done, indeed! :) And to all the haters, you have to cut some slack, because, yes there really is no feel or emotion in it, but you have to understand that she hasn't been through enough or lived long enough to have experienced the things and felt the feelings that make music come from the soul, you know? It'll come with experience :) Technically this child is amazing, and I and others can only wish we were this good at that age! (or in general! ha!)

  • well done that was played with perfect accuracy!! iv learnt that song and i know the time and effort it requires to learn well. try giving it some dynamic expression to give a nicer feel to it, bt you are deffinitly on your way to becoming a famous musician!! remeber do it for fun!!!!!! :)

  • x__x

    Increible!

  • BRAVOOOOOOOO!

  • wow *__*

  • very impressive kid!!

  • She's great!!!

  • Love the Burberry. :)

  • dear god! :D

  • in great and all but theres no dynamics

  • @darksin2009 baroque music has no dynamics marking

  • @mysticarosa These pieces are written for harpsichord which only produce dynamics. When performed on a piano, however, it is natural to add some dynamics to the piece, although, IMO, not strictly necessary.

I still think this performance is excellent.

  • @darksin2009 it's bach

  • @darksin2009 Oh, I see, you play with dynamics...

  • @darksin2009 I have the score in front of me... there are no dynamics marked lolololololololololololololololololololololoolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol

  • @darksin2009 It's not the composer who makes the rules, it's the artist ;) Anyways, Bach was in the baroque period, they didn't have ANY dynamics for the keyboard.

  • @darksin2009 dude she's like 6

  • @darksin2009 They're dynamics in Bach's music? Since when?

  • @darksin2009 Well this piece was written in the Baroque period and to perform as it was originally written you wouldn't play dynamics as the harpsichord couldn't change volume.

  • @darksin2009 You are such a noob.

  • @darksin2009 eh fuck off for once you complainers

  • @darksin2009 its bach, and baroque music. Dynamics didn't exist. It's not even technically a piece written for piano. the articulation is where it's at, and she nailed it.

  • @allmusician5 there aren't any dynamcs, but there are certainly places where it's forte or piano, it just doesn't have to ease into it--meaning, it shouldn't just be plain flat either.

  • @darksin2008 when you play bach, you are nor allowed to ply dynamics, because bach only played on a cembalo and there you can`t play dymanics

  • @darksin2009 i barely find pieces in classical music with any dynamics

  • @darksin2009 Are you kidding me? She's a little girl for fucks sake..

  • @darksin2009 I agree there a not any dynamics, it would make a lot more exciting if there was!

  • @CtvtvC

the harpsichord doesn't have any dynamics as far as i know, if you mean in the way of varying volume, so maybe it's the way Bach intended?

  • @darksin2009 Bach didnt include dynamics in this composition . So including them wouldnt really make it the original invention . jussayin .(: cuz I JUST FINISHED THIS SONG TODAY ! :D

  • @darksin2009 who cares you perfectionist bastard! This girls probably like 8 years old and your gonna judge her playing? I swear people can never just say something is great and EPIC. They always have to look for mistakes....

  • @darksin2009 who cares you perfectionist bastard!? This girls probably like 8 years old and your gonna judge her playing? I swear people can never just say something is great and EPIC. They always have to look for mistakes....

  • @Gwampa777 yes i am sorry for that, what i meant to do is give some advice i did not mean to crticize her

  • @darksin2009- yeah its alright :D before i wrote that comment I was fed up because every video with music that I was wathcing had criticsm. things like that can sometimes get me a bit mad(especially the thumb downs)

  • @darksin2009 Bach never wrote with dynamics

  • @pianomasterbrandon1

bach wanted music to be played like singing. in the time of bach there was not notation for dynamics, but with the invention of the pianoforte they surely played with dynamics.

  • @pianomasterbrandon1 But he wrote with phrasing..

  • @pianomasterbrandon1 good but wheres the feel? thats the problem with these players, bach may have made is so that there were no dynamics, this was so we could express this music ourselves, she didnt :( she just played it.

  • @isuckbananaz No actually, there are no dynamics because this was originally intended for the harpischord because the piano, nor no keyboard instrument with dynamics had been invented yet so placing dynamics would be pointless.

  • @pianomasterbrandon1

    What are dynamics in dutch?

  • @darksin2009 yea but she is only what, 10? That usually comes later in a musician's life.

  • @darksin2009 u dont have to have dynamics...BACH wrote this piece...they dont have dynamics back in Bach's days

  • @Ayumura96 there were dynamics in Bach's days just not written. Music was just beginning to become organized and labeled. dynamics didn't have a label on what means loud or soft so it was left out of the music, but emphasized through sequences and harmonic progressions.

  • @darksin2009 Well ... the orginal is for harpsichord to I think, and there are no dynamics to on it .. so well ... there is always the question, what should bach have do if he could control the dynamics when he did wrote this pieces ..

    Greatings

  • @Darkboy2525

    What are dynamics in dutch?

  • @AnneloreMusic haha I it is almost the same, we use the word 'dynamiek' :)

  • @Darkboy2525

ha yes I thought so, but I thought that she did it the wrong way but I've watched the other comments and now I get what it's about. I have to play this song too you see, that's why i'm curious

  • @Darkboy2525

en gij spreekt gewoon nederlands, ik zit hier in't engels bezig :p

  • @AnneloreMusic hahaha inderdaad niet nodig ! ;)

  • @darksin2009 she's better than you and all

  • @darksin2009 To you and everyone who liked this comment, if you look at the music for this piece there are no dynamics written. Invalid criticism. Sorry!

  • @darksin2009 stupid person stop commenting, wat do u know about dynamics

  • @diabolico5 get over yourself

maybe he doesn't know alot about dynamics but he wasn't wrong when saying there weren't any.

It was awesome playing and she is superb for her age but I think the little girl in this video deserves to know how important dynamics are. Constructive criticism is good.

    Awesome playing!!

  • @darksin2009 You know nothing about Bach, right?

  • IN YOUR FACE BEETHOVEN!!!
