  • "Go back to the silver and blue" WE WISH! :O

"Bronze and gold is a bit to tacky for my liking" When I watched this before I agreed... Now I wish we still had them! D:

  • Yet another great review. What do you think of the new Daleks ? I don't like the idea of the ultimate war machine being colour coded ! I would much prefer a dark blue or gray. Ah well at least we still have the Daleks. Pity about the new Touchwood as well whilst I'm having a general moan......

  • I'm certain that in Evil of the Daleks, the daleks had circles in their plungers. :)

  • i just want to ask, do you like the new supreme dalek? (the red one in the stolen earth and journeys end )

  • sorry if this annoys you but i just want to ask if you like the newer daleks ( the yellow, orange, red, blue and white )

  • where did you get yuor tardis backdrop

  • Hi what age are you?

  • i think they sould make a collecters set n.o 3 which has davros in it micheal wishers davros terry mulloys davros and empor davros

  • What do you think of the newest Dalek designs? After hearing you say you prefer the old grey ones as the bronze looked a bit tacky, I imagine you were less than pleased with the new teletubby daleks.

  • @rodster6 I don't like the chubbiness of them. I'm okay colour wise, apart from orange, as I do have a fondness for the Peter Cushing Daleks. Saying that, I think having metalic paint would have been better than the matt finish the used. Personally I think they missed a trick with the Ironside Daleks. The shape was far better and the colour had a nice warrior feel, free from bling bronze and primary coulours. I hate that odd grate at the back of the new ones skirts too.

  • @batmanmarch I liked the Ironside Dalek, reminded me of the grey Daleks from my childhood. Might buy the toy of his if his belt is removable.

  • @batmanmarch So did you like the Dalek Ironside because I did. It makes them look more like a soldier.

  • @batmanmarch well...ive heard rumors that the current maker of series 6 dr who might also have the time war design as well with the victory design....but no color change. oh and i think the "odd grate" at the back of the skirts is a hidden wepon.

  • @batmanmarch

I actually liked the new designs, though half the colors make no sence.....seems each new generation also relegates a formerly high ranking color to a less rank.....like gold in clasics to NuWho, and red from RTD Who to Moffet Who.

I'm curious as to what's in that grating.

  • @batmanmarch

I think it's about time we get some Cybermen....mondasian cybermen back and no more stompy stompy Iron Man/Al Gore rejects

  • @batmanmarch thats for a big weapon 2 come out

  • how many of these did you get?

  • Great reviews! Very thorough.

What do you think of the new Dalek design from the upcoming Victory episode?

  • It is next year now lol. Do you know if anything is coming out?

  • what they need is a classic Davros

  • @mikesgtrs1

What they need is a classic Emperor, preferably the Golden Emperor from the 60's Dalek comics.

  • it would be awsome to have an army of the grey daleks excep they are 30$ eacxh !! --

  • TELL ME ABOUT IT!

    North American Dr. Who/Dalek fans get shafted. -_-;

Come on, CO, we Yankees want those figures, too!

  • i never thought it was popular in the USA , but ots cool that its starting to become alot more popular there now by the sounds of it -- daleks rule -- i think they one of the best villains ever created in my top ten list of ultimate baddies

  • It's got a large following in the US, and has been for many years. And I don't think it's fair that CO, through Playmates, is bringing in our crappy Terminator and Star Trek lines over to UK, yet CO is NOT bringing any Dr. Who figures to the US.

I mean what kid in the US would not like Daleks? They'd love some pissed-off, killer cyborgs to fight their GI JOE's with.

  • That is right. I wish one of our main retailers such as wal-mart or toys r us would make a deal with BBC.

  • are u a very big fan

  • Yes. I have watched the show since I was three. I had seen every existing episode of Doctor Who before it came back and was left a bit disappointed when it did. So I generally stick to the classic series.

  • Least the female companions don't scream as much as the classic ones. XD

But I did enjoy the first season of the current seires.....Eccleston was a likeable Doctor, and he reminded me of Tom Baker's Doctor, somehow. Pity he did not continue on.

  • @batmanmarch

I heard we might see Classic style Daleks on screen again soon.

I'd like to see the new and the classic Daleks work and fight side by side.

  • Have you been spying on my top secret plans? lol!!

  • @batmanmarch

How's that 'secret plan' going so far?

  • @batmanmarch

And we now know what those plans were. ;)

  • @batmanmarch ive watched it ever since i was 3!!!

  • I take it the plungers don't extend. :/ I don't have any DW figures, so perhaps all daleks don't have extendable plungers which is kinda lame if so.

You planning on getting the second set?

  • You know how fragile the arm would be if they were telescoping? o_O

  • Yeah I know. :/ I almost typed that I figured that might be the reason.

  • If they only offered them separate too, like the new surpreme and davros are, in addition to the sets.

  • Thanks! The only new figures announced for this year are the San Diego Comic Con ( and Forbidden Planet) exclusives: 1st Doctor and Dalek Supreme Controller, 2nd Doctor and 'Tomb' Cyberman, 6th Doctor (audio costume). Both the 1st and 2nd Doctor sets are available in monochrome, but 1250 are available. FP have also announced two versions of the 3rd Doctor to be released in the Autumn.

  • You don't need Roy Skelton. When I first saw "Fear of the Daleks", I thought you had teken sayings from Dalek stories with Roy voicing, but when I went further into the story, I was getting more impressed that you were the one doing the voices, so well done.

  • Thank you. For me Roy Skelton is probably my favourite Dalek voice actor. So I was influenced by his performance.

  • they do new figures of old daleks, doctors, cybermen and what not, whyn don't they do Davros?! THEY SHOULD SO MAKE DAVROS!

  • Same reason they don't do classic Sontarans, there's already new ones out. Unfortunately the Classics came out at the same time as Series Four and understandibly they wouldn't release the old versions as well because most kids would buy the ones they just saw on screen a few weeks before. So we may see them in the future and we may not as the future of the line is looking a little cloudy. A real shame as I don't really want to get just new stuff, when the Classic series is 100 x better.

  • *tear sheads* *sniff* such a shame grr! but the new series sucks balls it ruined everything Doctor Who >:(, really I am a Dalek fan, other monsters are fine but I am ALL for Daleks! and I agree old is x100 better

  • I completely agree with you on the color scheme of the new series daleks, personally I think the silver and blue theme would be best, it would make them seem more like empire builders instead of the rag tags they seem to be at the moment.

Fabulous review by the way keep up the good work.

  • Thanks! The bronze and gold doesn't seem to work that well. Silver blue works really well and looks nice while the gun metal grey gives a uniformed warrior-esque feel to it. Hopefully the production team will change them.

  • Ironic that gold and bronze were the colors for several leader Daleks. :)

And the Supreme's lights were jam jars coated in a type of purple gel paint. And the guns were pinches cause the moron stage hands used the guns for handles as they moved the shells about. :P

  • I saw the box set last weekend and the genesis dalek is the best one I,ve ever seen, excellent in detail and exactly the same grey.I want an army of these,I too wish I could buy them seperately,so I don,t end up with lots of supreme daleks.

  • I know what you mean, its a pain having to have an army of supreme Daleks as well!

  • I'll take some of those supremes off your hands, if you like. ;)

  • @batmanmarch

Make one in that stage version of the Supreme in red, in that play that came out just before Baker took on the role. :) Plus supreme's would be great to make movie like Daleks with

  • is you ever get the dalek sec black dalek by the way his head cant move

  • Yes it can. The remote control version can't, but the normal one moves fine.

  • nice second part of review

  • Thankyou!

  • i was gonna say about the special weapons daleks, i hope they make separate classic dalek figures cos i don't want to get lots of box sets, i want an army of daleks from genesis of the daleks and one of two supreme daleks. thanks for the review it was great.

  • that was awesome! i loved them kind of daleks

  • Wicked Review, batmanmarch!!! 5 stars faved!!! Don't forget to look at my reviews!!! Cheers

    Simon Adams

    (Card Clashers)

  • wow great again and a special weapons dalek would be brilliant

  • I loved the review and the animation, are you going to review anything after you've reviewed all of the others Classic figures?

  • were did you fined out about the speshal wepans dalek?

  • On th Doctor Who forum. BBC News did a report on something to do with the Toy industry and they went to Designworks Windsor who sculpt the Doctor Who figures where thwre was a clip showing prototypes of the Daleks set a Special Weapons Dalek and the Tenth Planet Cyberman.

  • I have an Idea for Stop Motion Film starring Peter Davison

When you get this write back and I will give you the idea

  • Sure thing, I'll see what I think.

  • Do you think there are going to make Classic Davros-es

  • I hope so. I think CO said it wouldn't be for a while as they already have the new series Davros on sale. They said the same about classic Sontarans.

  • The reason why the bbc painted the daleks in the 70's in that colour is because the props were so badly damaged, they needed a darker colour to cover it up (unfortunatly, in day of the daleks, the damage showed up because of the bright paint).

  • I never knew that was th reason. I knew by this point the props were getting pretty battered but I didn't realise that the new colour scheme was a way of making it less visible. Thanks for the info!

  • Loved the bit at the end!!!!!

  • Thanks!
