might aswell let the kids use it as a skipping rope!! dont be dumb. ropes DO break occasionaly, and then so does everything in its way, including your kids.
Bad stuck, and it's good you have a recovery car. Next time when you get stuck in such situation, turn your wheel to the lower side (in this video it is your right side) and go forward... the car will move downward and you will get out of stuck.... this has been proven sooo many times :)
@lewisx20x20x20 rear of front differentials are locked in order to have an even power for both ends of the wheels. in a normal case, the differential is un-locked, which helps a lot in paved roads, every car is un-lucked, but on 4x4 and on some situations, you need both wheels to run at the same time for better traction ...
i got stuck like this in the simpson desert in a landcruiser.... turned the difflocks on and it backed straight out!! I though those little pajeros came with difflock on the rear?
Hahaha unfortunatly most of the dutchmen from the Transvaal are like this, not too good off roading nor with safety skills. But they do know how to drink and talk crap and embarise the rest of us in other countries.
my brothers, my mates and i are heavily into 4wding.
snatch straps snap no matter what sorta pressure they are under, and when the do the have the potential do harm, of not kill an human who is within reach of it.
not to mention the damage they do to cars.
great invention, but u need to be safe around them.
i had to be pulled out of some soft sand in a two while drive cargo van packed wiht tools and pulling a fully loaded 15 foot trailer even after unhooking the trailer to get puled out we snaped those straps like ruberbands SAFTY SAFTY SAFTY
They do, it only locks the front and rear diffs together, so they recieve the same power fron the engine. That paj was "hooked up" front right wheel spinning rear left spinning.. without a diff lock it wasn't going anywhere
whats the point of keeping it from spinning? with open differentials, its going to keep your other tires from spinning too? and way to get one ricegrinder to pull out another ricegrinder!
There is a point, when you apply resistance to the other wheel too, both wheels might get as much resistance, and also power starts to deliver on the wheel that is still on the ground.
That is partly how traction control works, except that TC does not apply breaks on the wheel that has traction. Not maybe very good for brakes and rest of the transmission, but in tricky place it can help.
Both wheels might get equal resistance?......maybe if your Emergency brake system is fucked up in just the right way....something like a 1 in 2,000,000 of a chance....
I never said shit about traction control, and nothing about traction control would work here, traction control is generally an option for higher powered CARS.....not SUV's
Believe or not, but it works, especially with cars that has LSD like Pajeros usually at least have at rear axle. There was also full rear locker available for that model. This trick is used, someone's call it to "poor mans traction control".
TC is very good option for SUV's. But you want to turn it to taste question, so there is point fighting about that. :)
@pigdogsmells no hate to tell you you have a cheap 4WD/4X4 this is how it goes with your elcheapo mitzyo 1 wheel at the front and 1 wheel at the rear will spin ok. it has no locking diff no lsd no nothing hence pajero = elcheapo nastyo
oh how nice diff lock sounds when in that situation no? ;o

I think its a 2.8 GLS Montero. if so, the solution would be to engage the rear differential lock.
eduardobollini 4 years ago
It is actually a 3.5 Litre V6, and the model is a Mitsubishi Pajero - they are badged as montero in all countries apart from Australia
jeffw1990 4 years ago
nop... Pajero's are badge as Montero in countrys where pajero means wanker.. heheh

It's called as Pajero too in Asia... I guess in Asia pacific, it's called as Pajero, and Montero in All countries. and don't forget, Shogun in UK.
