To Christians: i am an atheist and if god loves me so much and really wants me to accept his 'gift' and worship him then why doesn't he make it easier? Why doesn't he come to me in angel form and prove his existance so that I believe in him? If he is omnipotent then he would do this. Its like a teacher that really wants a student to learn and do good in his exams but doesn't offer any him help at all.

when i hear this.. i just feel like i want to cry, but with tears of great thanks and compassion. This is one of my favourite songs of all time and i am not afraid to say that. Sometimes i doubt whether god really exists which means that i doubt catholicism.. but listening to such beautiful songs such as this gives me the courage to sit up.. and say "I BELIEVE."

hey 350. I know its hard to understand the deep love of God. It's just like a child to a loving father. He made us and loves us as His children. So no matter how far away we go from him, he still waits and waits for us to come back. Even just to TURN HIS WAY and He'll come meet you where you're at.

That's just crazy. The gospel of Thomas is not a true gospel. It was written by the Gnostics long after Paul had finished writing his letters. When the Gnostics wrote their "gospels" they tagged an apostles name to try and give validity to the book but that doesn't mean that it is valid.
There are over 300 prophecies about Jesus in the old testament concerning his birth, death, resurrection, and second coming and nearly all of them have come true.

Humans would usually either die in birth or kill it's mother in birth. We had a life expectancy for only about 20 to 15 years. dieing usually related to the teeth (very painful) or of hunger, or of micro organisms that they didn't know existed, or of natural events like hurricanes and volcanoes.

And before you try to convince me of how the "laws" of science conflict with belief in God, use your logical mind he gave you to answer this: If you are right and there is no God, how did the beginning of time and existance come about? If you believe in the Big Bang, what went bang and where did it come from? God created science and time, so he exists outside both. Explain how else it could be.

2) It is very much possible that there is some kind of omnipotent being that created existence, and live outside of time. But the "God" you refer to has ridiculous principals about whether or not you should believe what he believes. If there is a god, he should be completely unbiased and not judgmental. The huge contradiction in that story is that the devil is able to corrupt us, therefore, we have been imperfect from the beginning. Listen, you all have different ideas of god, whether you realize that or not, it's true. Some of you see god as forgiving, loving and caring, some see him as wrathful and judgmental. How forgiving he is and what and who he forgives differs from person to person. Do you know why? Because he is not real. We invented him to make sense of the world and to justify our moral beliefs. First off, I believe you mean trials, not trails. Second these what is the point of these "trials"? To test the evil? No one asks to be evil. Some people choose the path of evil because of who they are, or how they were raised. They don't deserve eternal damnation no matter what they might do. I am tired of people flip-flopping on this. ok, yeah I meant trial not trails...misspelling on my part. the trials GOD gives us are to test how strong we are in Him! HE is there to help you through the trial-HE is the ONLY one that can help you through a hard time! We are NOT flip-flopping. He does BOTH. He loves us, but punishes us for doing wrong...like a little child in trouble-do you let the child get away with disobeying?! I don't think so! So, then why should God let us get away with sin?! HE SHOULDN'T!

If you know anything about the Bible then you would know that he DID make us sinless, but that ended with Adam and Eve when they sinned in the Garden! From then on, we have been born sinful, and have to ask Christ for forgiveness! Without doing that you will NOT get to Heaven. You must trust that Christ made us, trust that He died for the sins of the world, and ask Him to forgive you of your sins! We will ALWAYS sin...you can NOT change that!

Ive had my trials, but i dont believe god's wrath was WHY I had them.
they were my fault, but guess what.
God helped me.
If it wasnt for him, I know i wouldnt of been able to get through them.
and my church helps me lots too.

God doesn't do bad things, but the good things, like your friend repenting, is because of god.
So, if good things happen because of god, why do bad things happen? Because of us? I find that to be an extremely negative view of the human race. That we are evil, and only through god will we ever be good.

Read the Gospel of John for strength and 1 Cor 13 to renew yourself in the true meaning of love, not the world's definition, and explain to him/ her that Satan doesn't care about him/her and can't fill his/her hunger to feel loved, special, important, or "powerful."

God is not dead, far from dead. Jesus is dead though...and yes, for some people, it's hard to admit that they were the ones that killed Christ, but I'm glad you have no problem admitting it. You never really understand the price Jesus payed for us. Not even seeing a man potraying him can give you a clear picture. he dies on that cross for our sins for our screw ups for our, for our place in Heaven! where there is NO shame or saddness or anger but only happieness. we CAN live there ONLY if we accept what JESUS did on that cross!! John 3:16 says that God GAVE his ONLY son...his only Son. God had to watch his Son DIE, to die for our sins and our ticket into Heaven.
