There can be crossovers with in these genres. But this is all there is. As for this well you can enjoy them. But this band does not fall into any of the metal genres listed.

We Came as Romans are not metal but metalcore or post-hardcore. I don't understand why they would sign a deal with a company like Nuclear Blast. Don't get me wrong We Came as Romans is a good band but should never have signed with a label as heavy as Nuclear Blast.

@aarongtr180 Davids screaming is nowhere near girly lol. and generic breakdowns are everywhere there is not that many bands that have their own authentic breakdowns. Almost every band has has the same generic breakdown from someone else. And I can agree Kyle (the singer) has a girly voice but I give him props for singing that high because most guys wouldnt have the balls to get on stage and sing that high.

I just think as a band they are good but nuclear blast wasnt really a good choice for them to sign because they dont fit in with bands like nightwish, meshuggah, and soilwork. But they did it to get them to Europe easier for their fans. Which I think is respectable.
@FuckShepherd Personally, I don't care for them, but I don't really listen to any post-hardcore, so I'm just surprised that they popped up on this label. I mean, it's not like whatever label you're on matters all that much as long as they get your music out, but I think most Nuclear Blast fans often don't necessarily listen to post-hardcore, and that's why I'd agree this label probably wasn't a good choice.

@hazafel it's sort of a hybrid. there are parts which I'd definitely consider to be metal-sounding (NOT hardcore) but then the singing comes in with the soft guitars and synth, which makes people want to call it post hardcore.

I consider myself stoner-type metalhead through and through, I've got the mountain man beard, camo cargos, and Norwegian black metal playlist to back up my case. But I grew up as a scene kid, a clean shaven, tight BMTH shirt-wearing, highlighter fingernail polish applying scene kid. I like to think that I'm true to my roots. And scene kids in Louisiana are much more open musically than they were in other places I've lived. Both factions are mutual and a lot of fun.

Key words in there HARDCORE as in HARDCORE PUNK as in it's part of the PUNK genre which is a total different type of genre. Post-Hardcore as jack shit to do with metal music. Hell out side of a few metalcore and deathcore bands those genres have nothing to do with metal music. 98% of metalcore and deathcore bands have a more hardcore sound then a a metal sound.

I love all types of metal, but I can clearly say this band is bullshit. I mean listen to it. These are the bands that are making metal turn towards the mainstream shit side. Same goes towards bands like A Day to Remember, Bring Me the Horizon, and Black Veil Brides. To all of you who think this is "Melodic Metal," just listen to some Amon Amarth, Dark Tranquility, Kalmah, and undergound MDM. I'd recommend oabassi, he has some really great MeloDeath on his channel.

They'll get famous with NB, but I think in the beginning they have to suffer from the damn oldschool faggots that call themselves fans of music but dislike everything that's modern or emotional. Tasters have the same problem. But as I know that WCAR have a LOT of fans (seen them live twice), I'm glad to see them at NB.
Why? Originally, NB was an extreme metal label.. then they turned heavy metal.. why not post-hardcore? It gets more and more famous and they kinda use the same instruments than heavy metal bands. And all the hate just comes from oldschool faggots that don't like ANYTHING that's modern or new, believe me...
Well, that's a personal oppinion, so I have to respect that ;) .. I can even understand why people think in that way. Anyways, it's not WCARs fault. For them, being with NB is an extreme step forward and a good chance. Its just because Post-Hardcore (and the whole scene surrounding this genre) is slowly getting HUGE at the moment. NB wants money, everyone knows that... IMO WCAR would somewhat fit to Century Media or Sumerian Records.
It is indeed no secret that NB are money-grubbers. In fact, I'm not quite sure why I got involved in this, as I kinda hate Nuclear Blast for what they did to my favorite band, Sonic Syndicate.
And while I do like WCAR, I guess for me, it's more the fanbase surrounding the post-hardcore/metalcore scene that is the problem. The endless tween scene-girls who only like bands because of their looks in particular is very annoying...
Scene-girls are cute :D .. there are always some of them on the gigs, the first three or four rows of spectators are full of them.. But the rest are, usually, kinda ordinary people (of course with a little touch of "scene", I would lie if I said that I don't have it, too..).. anyways I also listen to Kreator and Iron Maiden, so it's kinda music-based.. And I have to admit, I like scene-girls even more than ugly metalheads, honestly..

I mean, it's not like whatever label you're on matters all that much as long as they get your music out, but I think most Nuclear Blast fans often don't necessarily listen to post-hardcore, and that's why I'd agree this label probably wasn't a good choice.

I consider myself stoner-type metalhead through and through, I've got the mountain man beard, camo cargos, and Norwegian black metal playlist to back up my case. But I grew up as a scene kid, a clean shaven, tight BMTH shirt-wearing, highlighter fingernail polish applying scene kid. I like to think that I'm true to my roots. And scene kids in Louisiana are much more open musically than they were in other places I've lived. Both factions are mutual and a lot of fun.

Key words in there HARDCORE as in HARDCORE PUNK as in it's part of the PUNK genre which is a total different type of genre. Post-Hardcore as jack shit to do with metal music. Hell out side of a few metalcore and deathcore bands those genres have nothing to do with metal music. 98% of metalcore and deathcore bands have a more hardcore sound then a a metal sound.

I love all types of metal, but I can clearly say this band is bullshit. I mean listen to it. These are the bands that are making metal turn towards the mainstream shit side. Same goes towards bands like A Day to Remember, Bring Me the Horizon, and Black Veil Brides. To all of you who think this is "Melodic Metal," just listen to some Amon Amarth, Dark Tranquility, Kalmah, and undergound MDM. I'd recommend oabassi, he has some really great MeloDeath on his channel.

It's the musical differences. A lot of metalheads don't seem to like a lot of the musical aspects that the "core" genres is characterized by.
And it's not like NB dropped it's extreme metal bands. They still have Swashbuckle, Dimmu Borgir, Immortal etc.
And it would be preferrable if at least ONE metal label would stay clear of these popular core bands. Imo.

For them, being with NB is an extreme step forward and a good chance. Its just because Post-Hardcore (and the whole scene surrounding this genre) is slowly getting HUGE at the moment. It is indeed no secret that NB are money-grubbers. In fact, I'm not quite sure why I got involved in this, as I kinda hate Nuclear Blast for what they did to my favorite band, Sonic Syndicate.
And while I do like WCAR, I guess for me, it's more the fanbase surrounding the post-hardcore/metalcore scene that is the problem. The endless tween scene-girls who only like bands because of their looks in particular is very annoying...

Scene-girls are cute :D .. there are always some of them on the gigs, the first three or four rows of spectators are full of them.. But the rest are, usually, kinda ordinary people (of course with a little touch of "scene", I would lie if I said that I don't have it, too..).. anyways I also listen to Kreator and Iron Maiden, so it's kinda music-based.. And I have to admit, I like scene-girls even more than ugly metalheads, honestly..

Sad day when "High Vocals" are all attributed to the 12 year old because he was clearly singing before all of these bands full of 20-40 something year olds. Oh and another thing, genres are blending now and labels are picking up a lot of bands. If you don't like the high vocals then listen to the other bands and stop bashing them on their own music pages.
