Thanks so much for this. I could almost do it myself but having this video as a backup gave me the confidence to plow right through it and do it right. I had a clogged pilot screw and my CRF450 was idling high as a result. You just saved me about $200. Again, I can't thank you enough.
In what order is the washer and oring for the fuel screw suppose to go back into the carb? Is it oring - washer - spring : and fuel screw comes in from the left?
@shalukuttan Yep, you've got it right. It's easiest to put all the parts on the fuel screw. In that case you put the spring on, then the washer and finally the o ring. From there slide it all into the carb body and screw it in until it lightly seats. Back it out and you're ready.
Sounds like an issue with the float. I would start out by cleaning the carb really good like I show in the video. It could be a little dirt in the carb that's not letting the float shut the fuel off correctly. From there check your float level. I'm not sure of the exact specs are on the XR650. There is normaly a seam on the float that when adjusted correctly is level with the bowl mating surface on the bottom of the carb. Check your service manual for the exact spec.
Hey I just bought a trx 400 it wont stay in idle when in neutral or in any gearz it still drives i sprayed carb cleaner in the carb should i checked the spark plug any suggestions ?
