  • boat? more like speed boat.

  • My dad has one with the 4.9 and it has balls!

  • My 1976 cadillac could go 140 mph with a newer speed meter

  • These days you see V6's pushing 400 Horsepower....that's simply evolution and technology.....now 180 HP seems underpowered for such a large V8 but considering its age and the tons of low end torque the engine had it was quite adequate for the car.

  • @form109 the caddys in the early 70's until 1976 had the 472 and 500 big block and they produced almost 400 hp with 575 torque remeber its all about the torque alot of these newer engines dont have that torque or you mileage would be shit ! anyway now theres cams intakes etc for those caddy 500 motors can make over 600 hp ! but i would not use the stock transmission they were getting torn up with just 400 hp lol

  • 0-60 in 10 seconds.

  • lol ur fuel guage is on E lol

  • 180 hp, what do you got in it a 4 cylinder?lol

  • @7600692 hey dumbass thats a 4.5 liter v8 which figures out to be a 273 all devilles had v8s in them not 4 bangers

  • wow your a pussy

  • What are you saying its slow? my cars runs 8s dont talk to me about hills go to a track haha jk you gotta run at least a 20 second pass

  • @NikeSBamRider now I know this will be difficult for you to understand so try not to have a heart attack but speed is not the only criteria by which I evaluate a car. For a 20 yr old, 3500 pound luxury car the Cadillac has relatively good performance, a fact I was trying to illustrate with this video. I'm more concerned about the comfort, engineering, and style of a vehicle than its qaurter mile time. Thats why I drive Lincolns and Cadillacs not rice rockets.

  • @lac90deville Nice nice car bro. Fuck these people and their bull shit comments. Dont even respond. Love that old Cadillac man.

  • @heatherandpaul2 thank you for the comment, I usually ignore stupid comments like you suggested but every now and again I feel compelled to shoot something back at them. Nothing like an old Caddy to cruise in.

  • @lac90deville Yup, these idiots dont know what they are missing. Cars today are expensive and are loaded with crap like GPS and ipod shit. Seats and interiors are hard and cold. Comfort has been gone in cars for decades. I make good money and could afford a brand new car, BUT I refuse. I drive a 60's cadillac because it feels like a real car. Nice and smooth. This shit today is for kids.

  • @heatherandpaul2 I couldn't agree more, its inconcievable how much plastic surrounds you after the struggle to cram into a new car. You can't feel anything through the steering wheel or suspension and the car just lacks personality. And what is the purpose of those ridiculous, hard, uncomfortable, bucket seats they put in everything from coupes to mini-vans today. I'm driving to the store on the highway not to Daytona. A 60's Cadillac, now that is a sweet ride!

  • @lac90deville rice rockets? Lincolns and Cadialacs are not good engineering? Gm and Ford look to spend the least amount of money on every thing they do. The resale value on cadialcs and lincolns is horrid. My dad has Worked for toyota for over 25 years good engineering would be foreighn manufactured vehicles not american. Get some facts my friend. You must know anything about supras huh 2jz is one the most demnaded and mechanicaly magnificent engine ever made.

  • @NikeSBamRider "mechanically magnificent engine ever made", oh my God let me get the puke bucket what a load. GM's 3800 v6 used in Oldsmobiles, Buicks, and Pontiacs primarily, and Northstar V8 engines are among the most reliable and efficient of their prospective times. These engines were named among the top engines of the last century and they are made by GM. I regularly see old Ford 5.0's run past 150000 miles as well including the one in my town car, but whatever helps you sleep at night.

  • @lac90deville since when is 150000 miles good? Ive seen toyotas with 300 thousand miles on them my friend. And northstar, no one cares about cadilacs they are way over priced for what you recieve. Northstars cylinders have cast-in-place iron cylinder liners that are not replaceable, compression is way to high, Head gaskets blow quite frequently, stripped head bolts. just face it american made vehicles along with engines are not greattt. You find me an american bare engine that can hold 900 hp

  • @NikeSBamRider cool bro go splooge on your precious 2jz and ill get all the honeys in my cadillac

  • @NikeSBamRider On the contrary i care about Cadillacs including the 1000 hp V16 concept car put out in 2003. Other American engines that handling 900 hp include Fords 7.3L V8 (mustang GT), Corvettes 6.2 LS9 which has been tuned to over 900 horses in Corvette and Camaro applications, and lets not forget Dodge with the Viper SRT-10. 300k miles is not exclusive to imports as I have seen great running American cars exceed that as well. I mean face it Cadillac has the CTS-V and Toyota has the Prius

  • @lac90deville Your talking about v16,v8,v10, supras have a inline 6. For the size of the engine your not getting what you should be with american cars. Look at the new camaros and corvettes there pieces of shit, no one buys a cadillac for performance it might be fast to some guy that drives it to work. Look at the resale value on most all cadialcs and gm and ford vehicles horrible then look at toyota its quality and reasurence to the customer buying a car facts are all over the internet.

  • @NikeSBamRider Those larger engines produce enough torque to propel a larger vehicle body that you might actually have a chance in hell of actually fitting more than one person inside. Do you expect 1500 horses just because of a few more cylinders in the engine? Inexplicably the resale value of little imports is pretty high...a shame when I see someone dish out mega bucks for a compact when they could have bought so much more in an American car for the same price thats more practical.

  • @lac90deville No i do not the tunes you can do on japan engines is much more friendly than american correct me if im wrong the 2jz in supras is capable of holding over 900 horses that with out a tune just bigger turbo. And you know just as well as i do there is not one all american made car out there thats new. Toyota is very practical And the majority of new parts comes from japan for your "american made vehicles" products used by GM and Ford are poor and and low budget.

  • @NikeSBamRider I acknowledge that modern domestic cars utilize a lot of foreign manufactured parts, thats one reason I like older cars. I maintain however that American cars are safer, better looking, hold more passengers and cargo, and often offer a better value for the money than their overseas competition. The roar of a V8 is far more appealing to me than the whine of a turbo and a 4-6 cylinder engine (reminiscent of a mosquito if you ask me). I prefer a car you can enjoy off the track too.

  • @lac90deville American cars are safer? Dont go brining up the foot pedal thing with the toyotas cause so many gm and ford vehicles have me recalled just not on the national news because Gm ran by the goverment and its AMERICAN so that wouldnt be appealing to viewers that know nothing about cars but names. I respect your knowledge but we both know we could go on about this forever, but roomy vehicles? Have you ever been in a avalon Most comforatable car ive ever riden in. resale toyota all day

  • @NikeSBamRider I just don't see how a car that weighs so little made with so many fiberglass body panels can be safer than a 4000 pound, steel body on frame constructed, Lincoln town car which coincidentally is the roomiest car I have ever been in, and the only car I feel safe in on roads with idiots driving Silverado's while on their cell phones. One thing I do agree with you about is that this conversation could continue indefinitely and neither of us would change are minds in the end.

  • @NikeSBamRider You should ride in a 1969 Imperial. That's probably one of the biggest land yachts I've ridden in. approx 20 something feet long. 7,000lbs. 7.2 liter 440 4 barrel. and the torsion bar suspension, delivers a beautiful ride that allows you to "float down the road"

  • @NikeSBamRider You can't even write a proper sentence, yet you expect people to respect your ridiculous "opinion." Seriously, I'm not a grammar nazi, but your posts look like they're written by a glue-sniffing second grader. It's no wonder you're so cofident in your demonstrably untrue beliefs.

  • @PumpingSmashkins ? i never even responded to your last post?

  • @PumpingSmashkins and i mean im sorry? I spend my time working on cars not behind a computer screen.

  • @NikeSBamRider you CANT triple the power of a2jz with just a turbo... bottom line, it would explode...

  • pooch

  • man i love the old school speedo's in these american cars (aussie here)

  • Next time try to get the gas gauge dropping in the shot too....

  • @SmoothJohnson the gas gauge is digital and the delay between readings isn't quick enough to keep up lol...not that bad 26mpg

  • pretty fast. .. what do you think the top speed is?

  • Dude, that's pretty quick for a car with only 180 hp I guess it probably has a lot of torque.

  • @apache566 its pretty torquey at 245 especially for a front whee drive car of that age

  • @lac90deville its actually 275 lbs torque. get yo facts straight!! and its 200 h.p. factory, not a whimpy 180 pfft

  • @izeawalker i'm not sure where you got your information but that is the 91 model not the 90 my facts be straight!

  • What has been done to this deville? is it the ht4100 or the engines been swapped to oldsmobile

  • damn thats fast!

  • To everyone who said that is slow, you have to remember how big and heavy the good old caddys are

  • @shorty13750

tell me about it i had 3 gallons and 45 miles left ( according to the readout) and it wouldn't start faceing downhill so i had to push this 4,500 lb muthea up hill!! im 190 lbs 18yr old haha

  • Comment removed

  • cadillac + acceleration = oxymoron

  • @TheSportSatellite Your satellite would orbit my Cadillac...what about the 550+ horse Cadillac CTS-V with 0-60 in 3.9 secs?

  • @lac90deville I'm sorry but I couldn't pass up the oppertunity to write that comment. There are quite a few caddy's that would beat my satellite. Just had to be a funny guy

  • @lac90deville bahaha you must watch alot of commercials. No one buys cadilacs for performance. before you go talking shit get some mechanical knowledge.

  • @NikeSBamRider once you graduate from the supra to a real car let me know

  • to a real car? you drive a piece of shit Cadialc, i drive a 95 supra that my dad got me when i was 16 for 30k. With the addition of a sigle turbo swap GT-88 3.4l stroker at 1300 rw on42 psi. of boost. Another additon of Stop tech 4 piston front and rear brakes along with a 15 pound of wet in the hatch fully built engine and tranny. 17x11.5" wheels for the back 18X10" in the back With mickey thompson drag radials in the back and steering tires in the front. your in a 180 hp deville my man.

  • @NikeSBamRider i drive a 96 caddy with a northstar that pushes out 275hp and 275 stock which is not stock since ive put glasspacks on it which gives it more horsepower so u want to run your mouth about a caddy well guess what mine will turn a 13.8 quarter which is right with a 69 hemi charger so just bring ur rice burner

  • Thats crazy it shifted to 3rd gear at 70mph. Gearing on 4speeds seem so odd now :P

  • sooo so slow

  • to the people down below, that dash is between mid 80's to around 94'. We had a 91 deville with the same exact dash. my friend had a 92 that was the same as ours. and some 93 caddy's i believe have them also. Im not sure though.

  • @flightmaster178

Thanks!! great video by the way. I had a 97 Seville which I miss greatly. Damn that car hauled butt!

  • That's a 70something Seville right? I had no idea they were that fast,

  • Its a 1990's Seville.Since the user says the car has 180hp Its gotta have the 4.5l engine

  • OOps you're right. i as more focused on the dashboard. It didn't look 90's.

  • i belive its a mid to late 80's....i own an 86 and it looks exactly like that....i might be wrong but just throwin my 2 cents in

  • whoops forgot to put the year in the description....Its a 1990 Coupe de Ville Couronne edition, the basis for my user name...sorry for the late reply its been a while since I was on here...

  • proud owner of a 97 Seville. 4.6 northstar flyin around Omaha...i definatly dont drive it like a gangster or a grandpa.

  • i had a 98 deville with the northstar and she never let me down agenst rice buning shit ass tuners...but i did get eaten by a 03 ford f250, but 400 hp powerstrokes have a bit more balls..lol

  • I drive an '01 Seville SLS with the 4.6 Northstar. Now THAT'S an engine, lol. It pumps out 275 horses and holds its own against mid-90's Mustang GTs.

  • is that a 1977 to 1979

  • wut year???

  • I'll give you a run for your money in my '89 Reatta :)

  • u just killed 3 gallons . LOL

  • haha yes I did and the Caddy requires Premium! However my little 237 (4.5 Liter) couldn't possibly burn as much as a Chevy big block. Of course the car doesn't burn as much fuel these days with the transmisssion having issues that discourage me from cruising in it.

  • Minor correction: the 4.5 is 273 cubic inches, not 237. 237 would be closer to 3.9 liters.

  • You are correct, sorry just typed in the wrong order and didnt notice thanks for pointing it out to me.

  • not bad for a big car.

  • That sucks that the speedo only goes to 85. When did they stop making them to 120?

  • The speedometer only reaches 85 mph but I can get the car up to at least 115 if not beyond (I paced a friends car with a 140mph speedometer on the highway until we both decided that what we were doing wasn't safe ). I believe government regulations dictated that the speedo be limited to 85 some time in the mid 1980's. It kind of makes sense though because no speed limit in the U.S. exceeds 85 and street tires are unsafe above that spped. only downside: some believe the car can't go faster.

  • Most street tires are safe until ATLEAST 112mph. It is not uncommon for them to be good for up to 130mph or more.

  • I kinda miss that horizontal speedometer. I had a '92 Sedan deVille.

  • I love it too.... and still have it. ^^

  • same with my Cadillac, i had a 1990 eldorado,, great up to 70. then it was an eternity to 100+

  • idk whats wrong with urs

but i have a 91 and it has really good acceleration and the needle goes in the dash

    way past 85

  • yours also has the 4.9 as opposed to the 4.5

  • 1990 Cadillacs had the 4.5 Port fuel injection. The 4.9 didn't come until 91. That was a sweet engine.

  • As much as I really love Cadillacs...

It's acceleration really does suck. it can't reach 85! Fair enough most UK cars of the time couldn't but they had piddly little engines...

    Anyway, great video.

  • Acceleration may not be a strong point of the brand (lets face it most of thier cars in the 90's weighed around 2 tons) but this car will outpace most cars of its day. I had it up to 115 mph on a flatter stretch of highway once, I had to have another car pace me to achieve that because his speedometer went up to 120 (as you can see mine tops out at 85 but at the time was indicating overdrive...lucky it didn't break). This car puts competing lincolns in the dust and will beat V6 cars adn trucks.

  • you why flooring your baby for, should be cruising enjoyin the tarmac

  • were you flooring it when you took this vid?? :P

  • Yes I slammed the pedal to the floor and held it there throughout the video.

  • love you deville - one of the greatest

  • wow great job. impressed. i have one that i inherited yet im not old enough to drive it. wonder if its racable..... x]

  • The car has a lot of low end torque and will jump off the line, surging ahead of most opponents but then its weight begins to hold it back. I once had it to 60mph in 7.5 seconds but it usually takes about 9. It will leave most cars of its vintage in the rear view mirror...I mean I have never drag raced it, I am a law abiding citizen :)

  • lol, yahh ur a good mann :P

great car, but a technical problem =\ wonder if youve experienced same thing? its a 89 deville and for some reason the lights in the car, clock, milage, temp, ect. keep flashing :O and now the ac says service in need and keeps turning on and off. the lights and the ac are linked somehow due to the lights going off wen the ac goes on, and a clicking in the right. a amazingly great car, and those problems are nothing for it being 19 years old.. jeez. advice? xP

  • I've never had a problem with the lights but the AC has failed, it needed a recharge and you may have to convert it to R134 from R12. My car clicks to the right occassionally due to a problem with the security system but then it also won't start when it does that. I suspect that your car may have a defective fuse and failing air conditioner charge and that they are seperate issues, but I am not an expert on the subject. My car has only broken down twice in 114,000 miles and a mechanic fixes it.

  • 180hp...1990 w/ pfi 4.5?

  • That is correct the 90 has the 4.5 liter 180 horse engine that develops 245 Ib ft torque. 91 has multiport fuel injection so it has 20 more horses.

  • The 91 did upgrade to sequential port injection in 91, but the 1991 Deville upgraded to a 4.9 Liter (300 cu in) engine, which was the main reason for the horsepower increase

  • Also true, thanks for the clarification.

  • Lol I'm jk if u can actually read what that says

  • Mana su cadillac se parece ser hermano absolutamente lento pero ese esta bien porque su Lincoln es incluso mas lenta!

  • ooooo.....kkkkkk
