  • Fuck me! I liked this back in the day, i love it now!

  • Out when I was 11, remember the great britpop days. I saw Louise on a show a few months back, still stunning as ever, I would be grateful if i looked half as good as what she still does 15 years on.

  • Reminds me of simpler times, all I had to worry about was if I was going to score with the girl I fancied and what was happening on the weekend, then reality set in. Unfortunately. Epic song.

  • The perfect indie chick by miles!

  • Reminds me of nights that lasted days when I was a teenager. Brings me back to before reality settled on my shoulders. :(

  • Britpop was the best!

  • Remember when female artists didn't either dress like they're making a big fucking statement or like talentless slappers?

    I do...vaguely :)

  • @jennytot86 i remember it too. I was about 16 or 17 when this came out, Louise was probably the most attractive woman for me going around. She looks sharp in what she's wearing, absolutly stunning to look at. Doesn't have a tramp stamp, or stuid hair.

Take a note girls, take a note.

  • @jennytot86 Yeah me too... seems such a long time ago now. I detest what the industry has become now - females acting like sluts, singing filth and R&B types being knobheads. Great role models :/

  • i just love this poppy, catchy song, and blimey wasn't louise the most beatiful girl ever to grace the charts!

  • god, i miss the 90s - when music was decent!

  • Read somewhere that the video was symbolic of how when britpop ended the people whod been on the scene of it ended to, and that at the end their sort of in submission to drowning in the thames- true or not theres something nostalgic and sad about it, great song

  • tune-reminds me of TFI with christoff evans

  • britpop by numbers really. however let's not get too serious, sleeper had a number of catchy hits and what's wrong with that. haven't heard this in years but it makes me smile.

btw, louise is now a highly regarded author so she obviously has talent as well as looks.

  • Ohhh Weener.xx

  • seen this band back in the days of britpop 1996 in the barrowlands in glasgow fantastic gig

  • babe!

  • love this

  • when i was at school we called her Louise Weener lol

  • Possibly the biggest exponent of keeping the oiks away from books. Fucking tampon warrior with nothing to say.

  • I think you all take it too seriously

  • fit or not. This SONG is fucking awesome. passed the test of time and then some ..

  • absolute quality

  • I do miss the 90s. Ho hum.

  • Was working very late the other week and was getting a bit tired and emotional then Janice Long played this I got a little nostalgic and had a little grin on my face remembering my youth.

  • feel in love with this song

  • I can't help it, but i've always loved this song! And Louise was/is a Sweetie... \m/ (:o)

  • We step through London,

    book club, channel five.

  • My first teenage crush. God, she was fantastic.

  • Ah Louise Wener, even now, i get a teenage kick. Between her and Michaela Strachan i coped with being a virgin. :>

  • @lenskittylitter crack up

  • Her biog of the band is a pretty good read and 'hand up'

  • Wot happened to this band anyway?

  • seen them at the barrowlands in 1996 great gig

and miss wiener was tops and so hot

  • my hubby fancied her! good good i do 2!!!!

  • There were so many great bands fronted by lasses...like The Sundays, Echobelly, Elastica, The Cranberries and of course, Sleeper ;)

  • this is brilliant - how did I miss first time round?

  • Her novels are surprisingly remarkable! I'll never forget Claire from the Half Life of Stars...Wener would make the perfect girlfriend:)

  • Louise W. Goddess. Saw them live at Leicester's De Montfort. Good band live as well. Agree about the lust for Sonia from Echobelly and also used to like Sarah Cracknell - St Etienne. Lovely!!!

  • Fantastic. Sounds as good now as it did in 1996!

  • is it me...while watching this all i can see is addicted to love by robert palmer!

  • Amazing looking lady miss werner, she now writes novels.

  • i want to be wet with her.

  • Louise Wener... Britpop-pixie-goddess!

    Love her!

  • She was gorgeous...and I loved their stuff

  • Takes me right back to happier times!

  • Those were the days... Ahhhhhh....

  • the hidden gem of the britpop era.

  • definitely - i STILL have her haircut off and on ;)

just wish i cld find the original vid for "Lie Detector".

    Twenty fingers and toes up!

  • absolutely! i just wish i cld find the original video to lie detector ....

  • probably the fittest woman known to mankind ever... and some x

  • @WizzoUK

Still fit as fuck now 10 years plus later!

  • omg louise was mega fit can't stop looking at her.. great song.

  • Quality song- I am chuffed to hear this again!! God, that girl was SO fit back then. Sleeper weren't bad at all.

    Great tune.

  • takes me back...........if there was a hotter looking girl in a band in the britpop era as louise then please tell me who it is!!

  • Saffron form Republica

    Sonya Aurora Madan from Echobelly

And some say Charlotte Hatherley from Ash.

Are all hot babes, but they don't beat Louise in signing talent or looks and what a sexy intro, 14s in!

  • This takes me back. I remember the first time I saw this vid way back when it came out and being blown away by how hot she looks, and the sound of her voice.

  • you said it...salute

  • Great Song!

    Gorgeous Eyes!!

    Short skirt and Boots!!! (heaven!)

  • Great song, great band, much underated back then but piss on most of the crap around today.

Helped Louise off-stage once to and got a kiss on the cheek...magical!

  • if you think thats magical you should try actually having sex with a girl

  • good comment!! that made me laugh

  • shame they still arent going and louise was-is still one of the most gorgeous women alive

  • God, she had the sexiest eyes.

  • same as me listened o some right classics this morning...shed seven, the verve, the roses, charlatans.....i loved the 90's wish we could all go back in time

  • Fantastic song I loved this! Been having a real nostalgic Britpop afternoon today, half of me's smiling from all the memories and the other half's sad we only got 3 albums from Sleeper.

  • Another classic from my youth, I used to have such a crush on Louise Wener!

  • Its still INDIE ROCK N ROLL FOR ME im 27 loved the 90s but i think indie rock is still alive today with the killers, the strokes and a few surviving bands of the 90s like coldplay chillie peppers, keane, franz and a few others

  • If youtube is anything, its a measure of how much better my youth was musically, and im only 28...

  • We must've been separated at birth mate.

  • damn hot!!!!!!!!!!

  • Outstanding.

  • Probably the best song they did. Great stuff.

Anyone else think the video is a tad reminiscent of Epic by Faith No More?

  • This takes me back! Louise, Sonya from Echobelly, Nina from the Cardigans, Saffron from Republica. All gorgeous girls from Britpop era! Love it!

  • You forgot the lovely Pearl from Powder.

But yes, 94-96 (ish) was a superb time for indie rock ladies.

    Happy days

  • Yeah - golden days mate, golden days

  • Man, Loise you are/were hotter than the sun. Gotta go, getting aroused now..... ;-)

  • Not nearly as hot as she thinks she is, and looks like a Dickensian boywhore, so for that reason, i'm out.

  • I'm sure she'll be devastated.

  • for that reason, i'm out.

that is classic!! haha my sentiments exactly

  • i'd kick her back doors in.

  • couldnt agree more, wouldnt mind knockin the back out of her ! ! not a bad singer either takes me back to me colledge days

  • Omg i love this girl - ohhhhhhhhh what good memories of the 90's. What she upto these days????? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm damn shes tasty lol

  • Oh Louise Werner my honey

  • She writes books i think

  • Maybe she's drying herself off?

  • What's she doing now ?

  • She writes books.

  • LOVE IT :)

  • soo damn sexy

  • i know all these songs how did people forget about this band look at the low views omfg

  • why this band and song remain so forgotten i will never know. saddening. thankfully the music cheers me up no end.

  • Great tune, i wouldna mind shagging her even at forty !

  • a brunette with a guitar cant beat it wow

  • Love it.

  • Oh, Louise. I remember loving this song at university - or I would remember if I hadn't been drunk 90% of the time.

  • Louise Wener is bloody lovely.. cracking song too.

  • TUNE! ohmyygod this was 12 years ago? i feel so old!

  • It`s hard to believe the 90`s are almost 10 years ago - great times, great music!

  • 90's were the best. 00's are shyte.

  • pfff stop nostalgia...all those who said that are mid 30s... you are more nostalgic of your youth and the party and good memories ...all this with 90s music made one... but it not made it better...it's an emotional reaction... musically the quality was not really better before...(or yes maybe in the 65-78 era)

in the 90s they were so many shitt bands as much as today...

maybe the 90s were a little bit better... but honnestly ...it's like to choose between a pink tuna and a white tuna...

  • correct.

People should like bands/artists, not periods of time. Especialy when people only tend to look back on the best music of the past and tend to forget there has ALWAYS been popular utter guff music in modern times.

  • tl;dr.

Neither of you tell me or anyone what to love or how to love it, thats for us to decide. Right or wrong. x

  • rock n roll critics know it better than anyone... everybody knows that rock n roll give more classic records and bands in the age that i said before... hehe it's not an option...it s a FACT... hehe... i know that what i ve said will drive some people nervous... it's like if i threw stones in the (head)quarter of Ants... hopefully i m not in the Amazonia...

  • Only two kinds of music - good and bad. All my favourite music was made before I was born. 65-72. But it's all about the tunes!

  • @ibangedyoursister yeah I'm torn between thinking that.......or just that I was young then.

  • Brilliant! Thank you.....

  • does it get any better? great great great song

  • Quality

Louise Wener is definatly worth 1

  • yeau id definitely do her

  • Yeah, after me mate!

  • amazing bandd!!! we need more bands like sleeper!

  • Louise's voice is just captivating - I could listen to her forever!!

  • Lead singer was hot.

  • of course hes a teenage boy, its why i have wood

  • top tune.the britpop years were way better than the shit bands we've got now.

  • amen nigger

  • @bandyb too true

  • Hands up everyone who had a crush on Louise Werner?

  • still do any1 know where she is?

  • She writes occasional columns in the times.

  • she write books in london and she has a little daughter

  • @andy29081983 Raises hand :)

  • @andy29081983 I was in love with her :-P

  • saw her on tv the other day, she lost all the weight and is a bit of a babe again

  • hands up who didnt, lol

  • @andy29081983 'had' - I'm not sure why you have gone for past tense here, I for one still do

  • I don't think you get any better than this song absolutely sublime it seems like the word was made for this song. I nearly saw them at trentham gardens stoke on trent but they broke up just before the show. they owe me a reform to do Download. they would get a godesslike reception just ask Garbage. every song a gem more than diamonds that precious

  • omg...memories. great song!!

  • dont you feel really proud now taking the piss out of a potentially teenage boy god damn what did the world do to make you feel the need to start making fun of a "geeky teenage boy" and your 46 if I was in your position I would feel really big and strong

  • yo shut the fuck up you geekass teenage boy

  • I love louise wener if it was physically possible for me to have her kids i would

  • After reading that I hope to GOD that your a lesbian and not some geeky teenage boy!!
