  • Yeah looks like all the residents around there would have a real hard time dealing with the noise

  • Actually, there were NO homes immediately close to any music noise and the very closest people are the ones who had a sign up with the phone number to call to protest the removing of it. The city went ahead and removed it. After they had so many complaints about it's removal that the city paid to have it put back in a different spot. We FINALLY went to the new spot and filmed it. You can see it if you go to hawkysmom and look for New Musical Road.

  • WHY ARE THEY GETTING RID OF IT?!?!?!?

  • TURN AROUND AND DO IT AGAIN!!!

    Lol y'all are funny.

  • It really was soooo cool! I don't think anyone could have NOT turned around and do it again. On the other hand, we've been to Lancaster several times since they "deleted" this road and made it again on a different road. We still haven't been to the second one. :-(

  • Where is the new road? I have a honda civic! I wanna try it! ROAD TRIP!!!

  • @lamiaqueenofwrath lol my older sister dus to..road trip!!!

  • Avenue G, Lancaster, CA Directions: Take Highway 14 north from Lancaster and exit at Avenue G. The Singing Road is located on Avenue G between 30th and 40th Streets West. Admission: Free. Hours: Always audible.

  • DOES IT SOUND THE SAME IF ROAD IS WET?

  • I live in Nagano - Japan, and here I know 4 melody roads.

Road for Shirakabako Lake, Utsukushi-ga-hara Open Air Museum, Matsumoto and Minowa.

I think the Wikipedia need an update too...

  • they did make another one, Miles from peoples homes this time. LOL

  • Yes, I mentioned that a while ago. We still haven't been to the new road, but here is information about it:

    Address: Avenue G, Lancaster, CA

Directions: Take Highway 14 north from Lancaster and exit at Avenue G. The Singing Road is located on Avenue G between 30th and 40th Streets West.

    Admission: Free.

    Hours: Always audible.

  • They could probably make a better one...

  • wow that was cool, either inside the car or watching it as you showed. different speed changed the tempo.

i have never seen this before. they do have these rumble strips by the side of the freeway. its to wake you up if you drift of the road.

  • It was very cool! I haven't been on the new one yet, but will next time we're up in Lancaster. Where do you live, because here in Los Angeles Honda has been showing their commercial that they built this musical road for. I've noticed it the last few weeks A LOT! Watch for it on TV.

  • i havent seen this commercial i am in australia.

its funny seeing the view from the car on the wrong side of the road(well for us here ) sounds good by the side of the road.

  • it was cool until they repaved cause there was too much traffic

  • You know they redid it on another road in Lancaster, right. We haven't been there yet, but it is there. You can google it to find the exact spot.

  • Thanks for sharing this. That is completely trippy. Have to check out the new road, if we ever get down that way.

  • by far one of the coolest things i have scene in years

  • OMG!!.. thats so awesome!... why would they want to remove it?!?!?...

  • old people get annoyed

  • Its ok they made a new one because people complained thatthey got rid of it =]

  • Hahahahahhahaha awsome

  • Only in America ! Love The video !

  • Actually, when this was done there were 4 altogether. One in Japan, one in the Netherlands and one in South Korea.

The one that I filmed was paved over about two days after I drove over it. After many complaints of it's removal, they redid it on Ave G, further away from any residents. I haven't been to the new one yet.

  • Thank You ! I Didn't Known All That !

  • they should of put it in palmdale instead

  • Hahahaha!!! That is one of THE coolest things ever. I hope they save it. Thanks for sharing this. It made me smile. :-D

  • The sad news is they paved over the musical road about two days after we filmed this. The GOOD news is that so many people called to complain about them removing it, they redid it on another road in Lancaster. We'll film it again when we get out there. The stupid thing is only around 6 people complained to get rid of the road. How much did it cost for that bit of stupidity?

    Thanks for writing.
