The sad thing about this company is, 1) Why in the world would you go public before making SURE that nothing could go wrong? 2) A quick look by any engineer can see that this machine is too delicate to do anything substantial.
The sad thing about this, is that a good portion of investors will not use their funds to support another project that really does have merit, I hope this will not be the case. Obviously Sean does not know his machine!!! maybe something good will come of it!!!
what a charlatan!!! id never heard of this particular free energy claim until i heard it on skeptoid podcast. the attention these ppl get just encourages them.
Sadly, nothing has ever become of Sean McCarthy's research. This video was made over a quarter of a decade ago and still nothing has been released to the public. McCarthy states that they have no interest in making money off his discovery, then why not release the information to the public? More so why have not countless others who have access to his research not leaked or backed up his research?
Sean and company, I bet you read the dozen or so YouTube pages devoted to your company, don't you?
Well then, SHAME OM YOU, fvcking SLEAZES! Stealing hard-earned money from gullible investors so that you can sit on your asses and SURF THE NET! You are all disgraces!
Soon all of your fancy Mac computers and your slick marketing materials will be up for grabs at a bankruptcy auction.
Furthermore, although i'm just as skeptical, i haven't felt that steorn has put ego before capability, they've been seemingly careful in their approach to try to refute our beliefs, let's give them a chance, it's not like we are particularly at a loss. If anything, it's at least an intelligent entertainment, people get challenged, and then they read up and learn about things that wouldn't be learned unless a damage to pride and beliefs were dealt.
Steorn will burn off all of the investor cash and then close up and fade into obscurity. All that money so that a dozen people could play with magnets for a while. Otherwise they sit at their desks collecting paychecks and surf the net. Just a bunch a schmucks burning off investor cash until it goes down to zero.
i'm not extremely informed, but I'm very interested and intrigued by the concept. we should always think outside the box and belive in the possibility of the accepted impossibility. Nevertheless, if you guys are worked up about them taking investor's money, i thought i read or watched some vid where McCarthy said it would be self/steorn funded, so obviously, your partial anger is invalid.
Hihihi, but then what about spending your time on real science and not bullshit?? This Steorn guy belongs behind jail bars. He has already outed himself as a scammer. Of course, he knew that he was talking non-sense, but still he made stupid people like you believe that he was inventing and discovering an infinite source of energy. Why does it do so? all this shit about the 'illuminati' and governments suppressing overunity. You actually think that they've been 'paid off'.
Would you come to your senses please? Overunity is a farce, it is not part of reality. They are either scammers or are honestly deluded about their devices potential.
i cant take reading your idiotic comments anymore.
There are always potential new fields and energy sources in space that we have not yet observed through any physical interface. There is always the possibility of a very high energy field existing that very rarely interacts with any materials or fields that we know of. Grand unification is a nice idea and all, but if we discover a new field then we have to back track the attempt simplification from the very start. Always the chance of finding a new source, while preserving the equilibrium.
Sounds good. But first we'd need to know the nature of the field and then come up with some way to harness it. And it may just be likely that the four fundamental forces we have are the extent of the universes bounty.
We discovered magnetism when people with metal on them noticed that load stones were sticking to the metal. After that we just tested the properties of the magnetic field then found it was somehow related with the electric field and unified the two. If our process of field discovery is so basic then it makes me think that finding new ones is a matter of accidental discovery, and if the field rarely interfaces with our reality then there is no physics we can use to even derive its existence.
i just cant believe that five bearings decided to break at the same time he s lying SKF or any other type of bearings dont break I work with bearings everyday TOTAL BS THEY VE BEEN PAID OFF !!!!! TO KEEP QUITE
Atoms in particular and the universe in general do violate the "laws" of man. Planet earth was arrested from orbiting around the sun and violating the "laws" of the church. Steorn was stopped for violating the laws of silence.
you can see in his speech that sean was lying, a bit worried etc i personally i would of worked day and night to get the machine working I recogn the MIBS walked in this is sure.
Because people on this Earth are controlled by energy, food and the retention of knowledge. If the knowledge about these things and their use would be available to all, the Illuminati or other egotists could no longer play their power game. Churches, sects and drugs would lose their importance. Therefore it is imperative for the Illuminati to keep these things from the rest of the world, in order to feed their greed and their ego with their might.
If you think that fundamental knowledge is kept secret, then you have never seen real scientific journals. Developments (e.g. trade secrets) may well be kept secret, but the importance of new discoveries is often not obvious at first, so nobody even thinks of suppressing them.
Never had a free lunch on your life? Oh boy, you must be a very sad person. Your atoms and molecules are having free lunches all the time. The universe is a open free lunch as an energetic round table. All you've got to do is to find out why. The "Dr" business i didn´t catch very well - so you think Tom don´t know what he's talking about? Give me a break...
If 'Tom' knows what he is talking about, and real scientists don't, then why did he buy the 'Dr' title: so that he would appear to be as good as one of the mainstream scientists whom he so despises? Why did he not do some real research at a real university? Perhaps he is only 'internet-clever'.
And you have never had a free lunch either! You may have had a lunch which you did not pay for yourself, but somebody paid for it somewhere down the line. Thermodynamics works the same way: if you appear to be 'ahead of the game', then you must have got your sums wrong.
The only free anything this guy demonstrated was how to get a free lunch. He suckered all those people for their money and gave them nothing in return. Get more then what you put in, Free Energy? Free lunch is more like it. Poor investors.
Neither we have proof that it works or not. Demo was just delayed. Steorn is not just another conventional business and that's the main problem. They represent our hope and dreams - cheap clean energy, wealth and health to people on a friendly society. They represent the world of supressed inventions and seems on the way of being one more put away. Are you ready to give up a bright future and return to slavery and war? Try this w w w dot cheniere dot org slash correspondence slash 022303 dot htm
The site which you mention is 'Dr' Bearden's, is it not? Do you really think that this has anything to do with your idealistic society; given that Bearden bought his doctorate from a 'degree mill'? Looks like cheap tricks, rather than cheap energy, to me!
"Bust"? Like the Mythbusters? Oh yeah, its impossible, isnt it? - not plausible, like in the Discovery brainwash soup - so let´s start (happily) our internal combustion modified vehicles and go. What really bugs me and makes me curious is what kind of "deal" have they arranged with Sean and his commercial team. Either way this story stinks! Don´t give up, free thinkers! Free energy was already proved by the solar pannels...
And poor Sean and the marketing guy, other members of the 'company', must be cringing as they read through all of the YouTube comments on their videos. YouTube has power, and they know it. (No pun intended!)
So Sean, looking for a job? Your 15 seconds are up! Time to fade into obscurity. At least you pulled in a decent paycheck for a couple of years from this con. Time to practice your 'laid back' demeanour in front of the mirror again.
Hi Drev! I was wondering which would hit the buffers first, Searl or Steorn. Does this count? I really had in mind a trial for fraud when I wrote: hit the buffers.
Steorn are getting their asses kicked big-time in the media. It is truly a major PR disaster for them.
Con artists? Deluded? Delusional?
Who cares. They will never deliver a working prototype. Same for Searle, the bogus EBM machine, as well as every single YouTube amateur 'scientist' that posts videos of their 'over unity' thingies.
And crawling on the planet's face, some insects called the human race, lost in time, and lost in space, and meaning.
I don't know if I am disappointed or not. I waited for the unveiling of Orbo, while I was (still am) working on my PM too. Now will the public take me seriously when I ask them to come and see mine? Any backyard inventor out there, please go public with stuff that works.
"It could be a real con job. I mean a real, professional con job."
Well, that's what I meant by sounding "too much like Hollywood". I know that such things really do happen but these guys would have to have some real huevos to do it like this. And a perpetual motion machine was the best scam they could come up with? That's not merely an uphill battle- it's absolutely vertical! No, I think they believe(d) it. I hope they're right. But I won't be sending them money any time soon ;)
ProgHead777: I think that you could be 'onto something'. I know of at least 3 crackpots who are said to be the subject of forthcoming Hollywood films. Perhaps Steorn is already in negotiations ...
"very simple device ... stop start devices are incredibly complex tricky little devices" "easy to replicate because it's a very simple device" ??? Is anybody listening to this guy? I'm *very* disappointed.
I think it's a pretty safe assumption that, at some point, if not even to this very day, these people believed they had something. If they didn't, why would they set themselves up to fail so publicly?
If it IS purely a scam, I'd be interested in WHAT (or who) exactly made them go public and why? Any answer I can think of sounds a little too much like Hollywood.
No, I think THEY think they've really discovered something. Should be damned interesting, either way.
I still have faith in Steorn.. I mean seriously, think about it.. If their intent was a hoax, why would the public demo fail? Wouldn't their machine run swimmingly? If this device is based on electromagnetism, it's fairly simple to think of a way to disrupt a demo like this - even unintentionally. The fact he says the device sometimes failed when moved is very telling, imho.
This is pretty stupid. If I had a machine like that id make sure that i had at least 5 i mean it couldnt be the bearings. tommorow its gonna be that the magnets broke and then the next day that aliens stole the entire setup!!
This was corporate suicide live on the web - 7 million euros wasted on a wheel that does not spin. I did A level physics, which is not that advanced, and even I know that energy cannot be created or destroyed just converted from one source to another. No one has disproved this in 300 years and no one will. These chaps are probably honest, I dont think it is a scam. They are just deluded.
To be pedantic: the law of conservation of energy was adumbrated only 150 years ago. And then it was almost immediately undermined by the discovery of radioactivity. Various conservation laws had been proposed centuries before, but without any experimental evidence.
I'd like to see their piece-of-crap free energy machine demo even in its not working state. Let's see how many years it takes to fix the orbo "berings"...
Also don't forget "Dr." Terry More and the "Searle Effect Generator". They also don't have a working prototype, and have released no performance data on their magic box. More crap. People looking for investors so that they can doodle at their desks in lab coats, and pull in a paycheck.
Look up "EBM Machine". The corporate video is from 2002 and they say that they are ready to take commercial orders. It is the same 'funny magnetic field' pitch.
Then look them up on Google and find a link that says as of November 2006, they STILL DON'T have a working prototype.
Steorn is the same crap, a soft-sell pitch from some cool laid-back we-don't-wear-ties rip-off artists.
In fact here are only really two possible outcomes from this debacle. 1 It is a total failure, or 2 a global stock market crash. Who's ready for the next great depression?
further more, If this is somehow "real" I cant see how it could be patented at all. They would have had to discover a new principle or law, that couldnt be patented any more than general relativity or quantum theory
I find it amusing he mentions his angry shareholders. Shares in something like this is rediculous. Why buy shares in something that if it dosnt work, you get nothing, and if it does work, it outputs free energy. You would finnd you have shares in a worthless product. sure they could make some cash by from licensing the "technology". If this is possible, once released they will be reverse engineered in hours,so even the license is meaningless.

Here is the easy way to find the story: Do a Google search on "Norm Biss Joe Newman".
Duh! I couldn't figure that out five minutes ago! lol
Drevtoobe 4 years ago
Sample 3: At this point, serious doubt begins to creep into my mind about Joe Newman's
ability to build a real motor. Because he has a good idea in his energy
device, he thinks he is a master motor man. His knowledge is, at best,
superficial" at worst, non existent! As this continues, you will see just how
ignorant and stupid he really is when it comes to producing his life's work
for humanity.
Drevtoobe 4 years ago
Sample 2: I asked Joe Newman to send me some parameters to start a prototype. What Joe
faxed me was a very crude drawing of a motor lamination. He also (by
telephone) told me what ID and OD of steel pipe to use for the field housing,
how long the field housing was to be and the length of armature laminations
and length of armature shaft. As you will see, Joe had no plans for a real
motor.
Drevtoobe 4 years ago
Sample 1: Be forewarned: if you are an investor in Joe Newman's energy machine, you will
probably never see any return on your investment. He appears to be running a scam. If you
are thinking of investing your capital in his venture, think carefully and
read the following. Please bear in mind that Joe Newman is a smooth talker,
very glib, very convincing liar and will twist what you say, to make himself
look good.

No, I think THEY think they've really discovered something. Should be damned interesting, either way.

fucking snake oil salesmen, they are.

The energy world, whether it's about free or not free energy, is full of charlatans looking for no-brain investors.

Steorn is the same crap, a soft-sell pitch from some cool laid-back we-don't-wear-ties rip-off artists.

what a load of balls why dose anyone believe this douchebag?

If this is possible, once released they will be reverse engineered in hours,so even the license is meaningless.

watch it if just to get an answer. It would be nice if it worked but I don't think it's gonna happen.
