It's great but not better than Forza 3. I have both games. Online car physics, server related, are the same as Forza 3's: cars s;ide around tracks as if on ice. No difference. 800 junk cars useless to anyone but my grandma'. The Vitz, for ex.; totally useless car. No great car customization except a paint job (can't even upgrade the Lexus LFA to race car status-despite its current race car "LIKE" performance index). No decals/liveries options.
That Pit Crew action is what Forza lacks. The little details can kill or make a game. If I saw actual Pit crews servicing my car in game. Im SOLD! Give me some radio chat with the crew chief...penalties for speeding in the pit lanes or ramming intentionally into other racers. THats the sim racer im lookin for. It is not better than Forza, though I like it's car camera angles slightly better than Forza. Overall, again, 6 years of useless, unproven hype.

I played many arcade racers on consoles and though they were entertaining, I was looking for a sim racer. Something that felt close to real life. Forza was the answer and it delivered in my eyes. The cars are hitting 230mph at Indianapolis, they hit 204mph with no restrictor plates. They also shift into 3rd gear for turns on GT5 @ Indianapolis lol.
I don't think many things were taken into consideration by the developers considering the cockpit doesn't look anything like the real thing, and how fast it slowed down for the pit stop.

I timed 22 secs. (because I have that kind of time in my day). For those complaining about pit stop times, it is because no one has made a game where the crew jumps over the wall before the car stops
@asdfxyz1 It is still a console from 4 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I love gt5 but you can't do much with the crappy 7800gt. That is why the anti aliasing is terrible, and the textures aren't too high a resolution because of the model detail. Also, the trees are 2d because other wise they would have gone over their "detail budget".

@Pogneman Engine sounds aren't bad if you are in the following cam, Porsche whored their license to EA who won't share with PD, the driving isn't as realistic as gt5, M.Rossi is a total DICK while the others are too slow, premiuim cars are of a lot higher quality and standard is also a lot better at around 200k polys compared to forza 3's 100k and maybe lower depedning on LOD.

@asdfxyz1 It is still a console from 4 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I love gt5 but you can't do much with the crappy 7800gt. That is why the anti aliasing is terrible, and the textures aren't too high a resolution because of the model detail. Also, the trees are 2d because other wise they would have gone over their "detail budget".

OMG! Just realised how many cars are on track? Where are all the rest? Knew this would happen - oh well, Nascar 09 lives to fight another day until NASCAR 2011 The Game comes out...
BTW, i hope this ain't another GT game with a worrying lack of cars on track at one time despite being told otherwise?

Personally, NASCAR in GT is just a waste of time. No race spotter, bad AI and just 12 cars on the track is not NASCAR.

@TheLeaveMatrix NASCAR is very fun if the game programmers does it right. Like the old NASCAR Thunder games on the PS2. Not in GT5 though, Polyphony doesn't seem to understand NASCAR.

@FordGTMaster Stop trollin'... Forza got a better AI, better engines sounds, Porsche (!!! (RUF...)), the driving is more realistic, no "premium cars" (WTF?) and a lot of other features... However, GT5 is nice.

@Pogneman Its proven that forza 3 ISNT A full SIMULATOR. Even the creator stated that. Plus GT5s cars look way better, more cars, tracks, track creator, weather racing and the CREATOR OF GT is a racer himself while FORZA's creator isnt. Plus, how am I troling? This is a GT5 video not a FORZA video. If anything, you are the one trolling.

@Pogneman Engine sounds aren't bad if you are in the following cam, Porsche whored their license to EA who won't share with PD, the driving isn't as realistic as gt5, M.Rossi is a total DICK while the others are too slow, premiuim cars are of a lot higher quality and standard is also a lot better at around 200k polys compared to forza 3's 100k and maybe lower depedning on LOD.

@OrangeCrushUK you're right.... you don't get it. Why do people pay money to go see F1 and the cars come by and then they are gone and you have to wait for them to come back so you can see them for 10 seconds?

@OrangeCrushUK Go to the Daytona 500 one day. I went in 2009 after attending Le Mans in 2006 and 2007 - if you love motorsport then you'll enjoy NASCAR and that's coming from a Brit! It's about back to basics and putting the driver in control on a level playing field of cars - check the final race this weekend!
