Another important factor to consider is the fact that France generates 75% of its energy from nuclear power, with Belgium, Armenia, Slovakia, and the Ukraine coming in at about 50%. This would seem to evidence empirically that modern nuclear technologies have mitigated many of the risks talked about here. I feel its important to recognize perhaps more importantly that Hubert's peak (some say happening in 2015) may leave us no alternative, with other forms of alternative energy much less viable
