  • I love the way Fr. Placid puts things. I find him to be very much in agreement with Thich Nhat Hanh and the Catholic Charismatic Spirituality I was raised with, as well as the sources you have mentioned. It seems if we are drawn by the same Spirit, it leads us all to the same Source. Thanks for your comments!

  • This is a splendid exposition of very traditional Christian mystical doctrine, in the language of early writers, from Irenaeus (2nd century CE) to Augustine (5th). We have witnesses to this mystical doctrine in human relations as well as in prayer: Benedict (early 6th century), who said that every guest whom the monks receive they believe to be Christ himself; & Teresa of Calcutta (20th), who saw that each sick and dying person she was caring for "is Jesus".
