There are still some original tracable appaloosa breeders in Western American states....sadly...more often, they are being bred to crazy thoroughbred nuts so they can jump...sadly. Nez Perce appys were short stocky sparse mane and tail..for going thru the scrub brush in Idaho..also for the temperment...warriors would keep the horse in the tipi and make the wife sleep outside if other tribe horse stealers were around..thats how valuble they were.
No apparently other than color, Appaloosas don't resemble the original breed at all. However, I still love the color and variety and hardiness that are characteristics of Appaloosas world wide. Have fun!
What beautiful examples of the Appaloosa breed! Being from the states, it is fun to see how a conformation class is run and judged across the "pond". I am so glad to see that you haven't gone to the hideous fashion of fake tails. Thanks for keeping the Appaloosa looking like it is supposed to!
Fake tails ? OMG ! Shock horror; surely apps should have rat tails anyway ? The British Appaloosa actually doesn't much resemble the American one, as they are warm blood type not quarter horse and of course neither British or American look anything like the Nez Perce ponies !
very nice, i love seeing stallions behave nicely, they are real gentlemens :) and very pretty!!!

I had a snowflake appaloosa mare once and her mane and tail were thick as those on ponies. Not something you see often but it happens.

@feasjb You can still find true type apps but they are hard to come by, they're smaller and weedier honestly

Tell you what would be nice, if you named the stallions with the annotation thing, especially your own !
