lmfao some ppl are so stupid to not read the description xDD and just say bad things about jackie without considering his feelings (or understanding what he saus and not reading the description)and why he would say weird things liek that
I don't care if Jackie was talking about politics and society in general (as oppose to the "just the film industry" discussion). In fact, I commend and praise him for that. What he says is true.
Democracy, in a liberal activist sense (pot smokers), doesn't work, especially for a country with a large population. The "system of absolute freedom" isn't even existent in any country, even among democracies.
He has the courage to say these things, even though what he said is perfectly normal. It's just that, some people (stupid liberals) likes to twist things. Good for you Jackie, you showed them!
I feel like American democracy is brainwashing all the people about how great democracy is, and the Americans are...I can't say stupid enough...but definitely ignorant enough to think that politicians speak the truth. Bullsh-t. If politicians are truly "nice people" who care about their country, then Americans would shut their mouth of detest on Obama and Bush and all the other previous presidents' administrations. Democracy needs limits, China, as a developing country, has done a great job.
Wow its amazing to see a comment like that after reading so many people brainlessly bashing the Communist Party. Although I don't think EVERYONE in America are ignorant to that extent, I do agree with you mostly
Yes, there must be some control over every society but china is too controlled. No politcal freedom is the biggest part. Films can't show the bad side of the government, people can't talk about abuse of power by the government. it's all about brainwashing, not order. I don't believe that restricting people from reporting, showing, talking about the truth brings order. I agree with him that hk has too much freedom that police get no respect at all.
@xiaolintraditional90 Dude what you mean by we cant talk about the abuse of government? There is tons of websites where Chinese people (my parents included) would often criticize or poke fun at Chinese politicians or government. We don't hold public rallies or demonstrations in front of our "White House" but we have other means of protesting. We might not directly protest our government in films, but we have tons of allegories.
Jackie sounds nice when he speaks Mandarin also, other than his native Cantonese.
And no, I myself have an impeccable command of the English language but I don't need to read the English translation as displayed on your video description to fully understand what he is trying to say.
i still don't think they should have any control over the music industry, they put down underground rock movements, but promote shitty chinese pop music that only brainwash our youth into complacent government dolls.
Hey, to those who picked on Jackie Chan's compassionate concerns; "I agreed with him on that Freedom may not do well when the Country handling 1.3b people with constant provocative, slandering and tampering on China by the West. Limiting freedom may probably be the way to safeguard the Chinese from the bias and twisted western influences

Jacky is right, the chinese need the rule of law. Look at Singapore chinese !! arrogant, no graciousness, rude and downright uncouth. The mainland chinese are at least much better, and yet we look down upon them as though we far superior, when actually we were the peasants who could'nt make it there.
way to go for not watching this video or not understanding Chinese, and not reading the description. Jackie Chan said nothing against freedom. He gave a response about the necessity of FILM REGULATIONS in China and people took things out of context.
Jackie Chan used HK films as an example for lack of control in films.
Also, Jackie Chan is from Hong Kong, born and raised under the British flag...it's not like he was indoctrinated with communist propaganda or something...
You're from Canada so shut it. Besides, Jackie has every reason in the world to do/say whatever he wants. And no including suckasses like you who think they can jump on any celebrity whenever they want just because they said something controversial.

Mind you, it depends on how much Mr. Chan believes that the Communist Party should control the country.
