The game is played primarily using a 20 sided die to determine hits, and sets of lower number die for resulting damage. Rolling a 20 dice to hit and having the dice land on twenty is a 'critical hit'. Presumably Babycake's barbarian character has d10 damage dice at his current level, and so he's rolling for damage and getting the highest number on those too. In other words, he is destroying.
