Was that Shawn Pelton from the SNL Band backing him up? I guess with his experience with G.E. Smith in later years, he must have known Darryl through him.
I beleive the guy with the object in his mouth would be playing a "juice harp" which was origianlly introduced by Pete Drake many years ago here in Nashville.

You could find Pete's "Forever" video somewhere in my "favoites" collection. I bring in so many videos that it's probably buried pretty deep by now.
I might be able to give you the web page if you want it.

@TennisAndGuitarPro It's called a vocoder. Many funk artists used it back in the 80s. Unfortunately rap artists like T-Pain and others have gotten a hold of the instrument and now filter their crappy voices through it and use it in every track they release.
holy shit i didnt realize they performed this live! i saw the other vid and figured it was like a random jam sesh these guys are fucking amazing! i saw em at lollapalooza it was fantastic !
That's the best upload I've seen so far of them at Bonnaroo. They had great chemistry on LFDH so it was only natural for them to want to take it to the stage. Thanks for sharing.
Great video man! I have a few I've posted too. Feel free to take the audio if needed! Epic colaboration we may not get to see again! I have a feeling Chromeo is about to take off when this next album comes out!
Great video man! If you haven't seen the 2 I posted the audio isn't terrible. Video kind of is though. Feel free to snag some of the audio for you vids. Epic colaboration that we may not have a chance to see again!
I'm so very sad I wasn't there now, out of all festivals not to go to... two legends together of different eras fused into one fucking pile of epicness
Thanks for this awesome vid -- next best thing to being there up close! Would be great to see them perform Out of Touch also. Maybe the guy recording the whole time near you is doing it for LiveFromDaryl'sHouse.com.
it is not just similar to billie jean bass line it also sound like the "who is it " bassline..
