The movie is a hoax but the year is real. It's already Feb and I can vouch for the validity of this being an actual year. There is an old saying; plan for the worst, hope for the best. It might be prudent to follow that and as far as believing goes, may I suggest, believe what happens and nothing else.
BTW. I don't believe in any of the dooms day crap, but wanted to clarify one item. It isn't that the Earth lines up with the center of the galaxy every year that is pertinent about this year, it is the fact that the Sun will rise in and align with the center of the galaxy. This only happens once every ~26,000 years. (well really, every ~13,000 if you count both the outside and inside tilts of the Earth. Once in Leo and once in Aquarius)

If Nibiru would have the mass of 16 Jupiters then it would have a radius of about 194,037 km a 5 Jupiter mass would be 131,750 km radius. (calculated using the density of the Sun, so the real size will be bigger)
Simple triangulation makes it easy to calculate the angular size at the sky when you know the distance.
Orbital speed at Earth (1 AU) is 30 km/s. Escape velocity at 1 AU is the square root of 2 times the orbital speed. 42.4 km/s. This defines the lower and upper speed any object can have when it crosses Earth relative to the Sun. Since Nibiru comes out of the solar system, it will get closer to 42 km/s. This defines a very precise orbit and a predictable orbit, so we must be able to see it right now. It can't hide.
It takes about 20 years for any planet to get from Pluto's orbit to Earth. If a planet gets faster here, then it never orbited the solar system so it could never have been Nibiru.
The only way a planet has a fixed orbit, is when it stays in a circular object never getting near Earth. If it does traverse the solar system then other planets changes its orbit with thousands of years difference making it unreliable to predict.
But hoaxers also fail to give any orbital elements. I mean they have images of a second sun so they know the position. If Nibiru would be real then those people would give you the orbital elements.

I just calculated some limits;
A 5 times Jupiter mass object would have a radius between 131,675 km and 122,250 km.
A 16 Jupiter mass (minimal to be called a Brown dwarf) would be between 194,037 km and 180,149 km.
So this is huge!
