Taking calculated risks is fine, this is just a bad idea. You're using it for purposes it's not intended for. There is nothing "fun" about this. It could have ended poorly and then you have a video document of the stupidity to show the insurance company and the law firm that represents the person injured.
I've flown for the past 25 years and never would pull a stunt like this, putting friends lives at risk.

it was wrong of me to call you a jackass. But with that said it was still not smart to do what you did. It might have looked really cool but you could have been hurt.. I hate to see a fellow heli pilot get hurt.. And if I'm ever in england I will look you up so we can see who is the better driver, I have always wanted to race Brands hatch....

How rude ! It obviously shows that yanks not only are arrogant but also have no sense of adventure. Its a hobby its meant to be fun. In Engand we know how to take calculated risks and can deal with risky situations like driving above 50mph without crashing !!!!

@davidkilshaw He is right. This makes the hobby looks bad. "In England blah blah blah" You are the arrogant one period. And even "In England" there are people who would disagree with you. Heck even people who posted here just simply disagree with you. Just keep doing that until you cut someones face lose a finger or hand or life, then you could say "In England you know how to take calculated risk". Calculated risk is one thing, but that wasn't risk calculated, its simply stupid.

That looks like fun, fun with adecent risk factor. I would like to apologize for the rest of us in the U.S. who aren't pussies, who like to try new things and who dont make our kids wear helmets when they ride a bicycle.

You're obviously so bumb to think this is an adventure and you think that this is what is meant by a 'fun hobby'.
I think you are a dick for trying this, hopefully you'll do it again and you'll loose grip and the heli smashes into you or your friends.

Taking calculated risks is fine, this is just a bad idea. You're using it for purposes it's not intended for. There is nothing "fun" about this. It could have ended poorly and then you have a video document of the stupidity to show the insurance company and the law firm that represents the person injured.
I've flown for the past 25 years and never would pull a stunt like this, putting friends lives at risk.
This was more "hold my beer and watch this" than a "calculated risk".

@davidkilshaw All it does is show that you are an idiot. Have a look at any of the heli accidents on here and at least 90% of the time you will see mechanical failure.
I own the same heli as this and have also seen a load of accidents happen to all size helis, I've also seen a few serious ones.
These can KILL YOU.
You're the perfect example of why our hobby is getting attention for the wrong reasons. Idiots that go out and buy something that requires an iq of higher than 2 to use safely.
