  • It means white mans burrow. And how does it affect a lump of iron and slica what haumans do?

  • Whats up your butt?

  • awesome. I've been there and I'll never forget that visit!

  • is not true that 90% of the opals are from Australia, the mos value a beautiful opals are in Mexico bettween Jalisco and Queretaro, and the best are find in the town of Magdalena Jalisco mexico, the Capitol of fire Opal in the whole world, all this opals are sale in large amounts to Japan and Germany the best buyers of this beautifull stone.

  • shut up cocodrile you're the idiot, go to eat mud.

  • Yeah clever.

  • i lived in coober pedy for 23 years

and i know for a fact that australia does supply 90% of the worlds opals and the most valuable . please get your facts right before you make baseless comments

  • Is it difficult to find precious opals now?

  • That looks like fun, going treasure hunting for a living. Doesn't seem like very reliable work though if you never find anything good.

  • i went there like 4 years ago. they blow up holes with dynamite to have their homes underground coz of the heat. i think coober pedy is an aboriginal word for white man down hole, thats what i was told when i visited...pretty funny. A lot of backpacker buses go through there

  • kind of sad life

  • crazyness

  • I remeber mining there. It was fun, but there's NO ONE there and you'll just hear boom sounds all day. Kinda odd, but it was a beautiful place.

  • Bologne! I think these precious gems, rocks and diamonds play an important role in the ecosystem. Yet, humans keep digging them out of the ground an locking them away in large vaults. While, these elements could be purifying the water we drink and air we breath!

  • are you kidding?

  • !?!

  • OK. I'll bite; send me some ligitimate info on why they are an important role and I will share it amoung my cohorts. I am involvoled in environmental consrtruction..I look foward to your reasons!

  • It gets bloody hot up there in summer. If any of you do go REMEMBER SUNGLASSES. It's hell bright during the day. Awesome place, you all need to check it out. Watch the locals.....you have been warned.

  • 1 1/2 years of finding nothing. Man this fellow must have alot fo money to be wishing and hoping itll come. What if it never comes?

  • beautiful!!

  • It's like living in Vegas repeating to yourself "I'll get the jackpot" continously.

  • very interesting...

  • Seems like a difficult life.

  • Exactly. Not my type of work.

  • they are beautiful gems tho..

  • I can't believe they say the colorless opals are worthless. Why? Okay so maybe they won't sell for millions but if 95% of it is colorless and say they sold good size pieces for $5 or more to people like me who are nuts about raw stones then they would not be exactly worthless would they?

  • yes, but you probably don't live in Australia and it would be very expensive to move rock that far.

  • I guess I wasn't clear about what I meant by 'good size'. Like a rubber bouncy ball or a medium sized marble. Something that size would not be expensive to ship. Although not being perfectly round, like the aforementioned items, would be preferable. I like my stones raw. =)

  • I have a Garden Rock!! *hands rock* :D

  • LOL, thanks. how much is the shipping. ;)

  • I have heard about these homes underground. I would love to see one but don't know if i would live in one. The constant fear of a cave in is a bit too much for me.

  • Hey those houses are blasted and chiseled out of solid rock, so they are real safe. It was weird though being underground.

  • Very interesting. Would like to visit Coober Pedy.

  • What's the point to working in the rat race to have one third to one half your income taking away by the tax man?

Who in the corp world (outside the execs) or blue collar world get the money or the credit they deserve?

Why work your fingers to the bone when all you get is bony fingers?

At least these people have their future in their hands

  • You really don't know the point with taxes...?

  • nice video!

  • greed does strange things to people.
