WOW! Terrence Howard is such a good actor! It terms of black actors, he's easily the next Denzel Washington. Outide of race, he's just perfect in whatever I see him in (August Rush, The Hunting Party, The Brave One). It's been a while since Remember the Titans, Coach Carter, Gridiron Gang, etc etc etc... just can't have enough of those movies... from what it seems, this movie is about a bunch of guys who almost drowned at first, but over a short period of time, became great swimmers. now, the idea just seems pathetic, because i'm a swimmer, and i know it would take at least a couple years to become fast, and unless this story takes place over a long period of time, it isn't realistic.

This is a real story and it does happen over a while in real life I don't know how the movie depicts it though. I know Jim Ellis he's a teacher again now(my geometry teacher a year ago =D) They may have changed some things for the movie to make it more interesting but this is a true story what he did and it was a big accomplishment, especially back in the 70's when civil rights still hadn't fully taken hold in the country and people still thought African-Americans were inferior to whites.
