i hope i get a quick answer since i need this for my project thats due this weekend
About the first procedure ! like it supplies power via the usb port. but to like charge the battery . Do we just connect it to a 5 volt DC supply like a USB port of computer or laptop ? will that charge the the batteries or we need some oter way to charge the batteries ??
PLZ CAN SOME ONE ANSWER ASAP
I have a computer FAN . its 12V DC with 0.34 A power.if i connect it to this will it run slow or not run at all
The first method would work better if you used 4xRechargeable AA batteries (typicaly 1.25v per cell at around 40-60%). The second method will get hotter if you use a 9v battery as it has to drop down a higher voltage, and iPods and the like draw around 0.5A (500mah) so a heatsink should be used on the back of the 7805; furthermore the 7805 requires a MINIMUM of 7v input, as per the datasheet specs, only fully charged alkalines work because they are around 1.6-1.7v per cell.
hi there how about you make a video about breaking a usb car charger and taking it and ataching a 9 volts battery and on the other side the female usb thanks if you do send it to me
nice idea, i used mp4 build in rechargable li-ion battery, i took it out from mp4 and solder nokia power connector and female usb connector, i get clean 5 volts and i can use it charging sony ericsson phone for about 6 hours! and i can charge usb charger itself with nokia charger :D
His scenarios are so stupidly specific, it makes me wonder if he has run into these problems. Like powering a snowman sculpture or being stuck at a bar and need to charge your phone.
this vid is crap. took ages for you to stop talking and most people wouldn't understand what you are saying - heat shrink tubing and twisted pairs aren't things everyone knows about.
Both the iphone and the ipod touch need to see voitage on the data pins to charge. Needs to see approx 2.5 volts. with a couple resistors, you could make both the first and second option work, the other ipods do not need this.
if you use rechargeable NiMH batteries, which are rated at 1.2 volts, can you just use 4 of those with the first type of charger (and maybe throw in a regulator for safety)?
I Built This and added an LED and A toggle Switch and it worked for a few hours. but Then it wouldnt charge but the light still came on i pulled it part and resoldered iit but still didnt work so i got a voltage meter and 6 volts entered the regulater and nothing came out the output Please help TheTubbyKid
what's more efficient? the second or the third one? In terms of battery usage.
I mean, in the second, you're using more bateries, say 4 (1.5V*4=6V) and downgrading with the 7805. On the third device you use only 2 bat and upload the voltage with and (also power consuming) IC.
Uh, ya but where can I get a little pack for three batteries?...I've gotten them from like little remote controlled cars but can I buy them somewhere?...

I was using 4 NIMH(1.2volts) battery and using the 5 volts regulator.. why it isn't functioning?.. is it because it has low voltage?..

If you use 4 Alkaline batteries, total voltage is 6 volts. Best bet is to go with 4 NiMH batteries with a total of 4.8 volts

Would a 5.1V Zener diode work in place of a 5v regulator for project 2?
ckgilligan 1 year ago
Everyday people don't know what 'heat shrink' is unless they are an electrician/hobbist. Neither do they know what 'twisted pair' means.
You HAVE TO explain this to reach the audience you are aiming for!
This tutorial is useless unless you already 'know' enough electronics to do this anyway!
ogicabp4u 1 year ago
@ogicabp4u heat shrink is actually pretty self-explanatory, it srhinks when there is heat

1. I can't see what you have done against your sweater.
2. It's too small, you need a zoom on that camera.
3. You go on and on about tips and tips much more than explaining the basis of what your doing!
4. Where are the circuit diagrams???
5. On the second project I cant make head or tail of it because I can't see it. How many wires and to where????
Uhh! you need to learn to explain things better.

For the sake of scientific accuracy: Current, symbol I, measured in amps symbol A
Electromotive force, symbol E, measured in volts symbol V Resistance, symbol R, measured in ohms symbol omega
Ohms Law should be written; I= E/R
