I studied with Mrs. Carey, (her preferred title by the time we knew each other), and played for most of her studio students' lessons and auditions. I've never loved anyone more. Not only should the recordings made with her brother, Jonathan, be posted, but, her Bach and Mahler. As she said about the Bach, "Yes, I recorded that when I had all the breath in the world." I cannot imagine someone keeping them to themselves. Evidently, in opera and recital, she was unsurpassed.
What a joy to have these selections by Carol Brice in this live recording. Quite a contrast to her beginning days. Might someone post the Columbia Lp that she made with her brother as accompanist?
