Tremendous to see JG demonstrating so much humility (for once). It was a great interview.
Footnote: I worked on a Muppet project once, and even the most cynical, non-humorous members of the crew were interacting with the Muppets - not their handlers - by the end of the day. You can't help it. It's as if they come to life. One of the best parts was the boom guy could not get out of the habit of pointing the mic at the talking Muppets. He had to be reminded that puppets don't have vocal chords!
@ZennLa13 Frank Oz originally did his voice was the same guy who did Yoda in Star Wars and Missy Piggy. Considering he was born in 1944 he is a bit old to be doing the job now.
@TheSethIkrass Frank Oz never played Kermit, although he did play Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Sam The Eagle and more. He doesn't do much puppetry these days, although he occasionally appears on Sesame Street. Kermit was played by Jim Henson, who sadly died in 1990. Steve Whitmire, who is doing the voice here, has played the character ever since. Apparantly Steve was going to take over the role before Jim, because he was becoming to busy with other projects.
@TheSethIkrass Frank Oz did not play Kermit. Kermit was created by Jim Henson for the TV program "Sam & Friends" in 1955 and he played the character until his death. It's true that there are many people who can imitate Jim's Kermit voice better than Steve, but there is a lot more to playing a character than the voice. Steve worked with Jim for a number of years and he captures the character wonderfully.
@TheSethIkrass Cool, thanks for the info. Of course I don't expect it to be the original voice actor- but would be nice if they got someone who sounds more like him.
@cutchyacokov Moxy Fruvous' song entitled 'Fly'? Which is not about 'flies' but is the only reference I could see in regards to the band. Which, by the way, were a GREAT band. Clever clever clever. Regardless of the reference, I say reunion! Resurrect those dark locks and go t for one more jam! Moxy Fruvous had drive!
Ah Kermit wise as ever

From the Live Noise album, they referenced Kermit as being naked in the track "Naked Puppets".
It seemed to me that the mupeteer was aware of that reference.

@Ehar That should say "before Jim passed away".

@dillo Maybe I'm slow but I've watched the video 3 times now and just cannot catch the reference. Care to point out the position?

@cutchyacokov I think dillo was referring to track 16 of Live Noise...but I don't know if that was an intentional reference on Kermit's part?
