Second, Dean Smith had a "team" system meaning there usually wasn't a big star player. Not that I necessarily argee with that system but that is why MJ wasn't the big name at that time.

I miss and love Dean Smith. When Carolina was so dominant, and Sports illustrated did a cover on them, Dean did not allow Michael to be on the cover.
