To be fair, its a problem if at the school parties, one kid brings soda but no one brings cups. That happened to me once. I always made sure to sign up for the "people bringing plates/silverware/cups" slot on the sign up sheet (which my school decided was the best way to handle parties where everyone brought something) after that. But I do agree that it's just rude to bring that stuff to potluck. Not only is it lazy, but -- not to sound like Kiesha -- it's like calling your host poor.
