  • dont mean to be skeptical, but dont magnets ruin disks?

  • @TheZumiezNation as far I know, magnets only affect electromagnetic based media, such as floppy disks or VHS. DVD disks are optical based, so I think it will be ok, I also didnt had any issue with the gamecube disks other than scraches caused by accidental drops. I used magnets cause it seemed an easy way to lock the disc's door :)

  • Made in Spain jajajajja

  • Dude its bigger than the Gamecube

  • How did you wire the screen to the gamecube?

  • @rowen211 I used composite video connection and stereo sound by soldering directly from the tv board to the gc board, the tv is a old xenarc 800m lcd screen, powered by 12 volts, the same voltage the GC uses

  • nice try! I'm glad it's playable though, I'd never be able to make something like that. I'm more the video editing type myself. please check out my channel about obscure video games! :D

  • @meltheofcgamergirl thanks for your comment ^_^, I checked out your channel and watched some vids, loving the retro games style of it , I also found the voice sexy :)

  • @capitankasar heehee thanks! Be sure to add me on facebook or follow on twitter too. I often have little contests and promos with game related prizes and such. :D

  • @meltheofcgamergirl okay :), added to facebook (dont have neither twitter nor myspace) ^_^

  • @capitankasar Rockin'! Thanks! :D

  • portable? you might as well just carry your tv around

  • That's pretty cool, needs some work but wow ,Id like to see the gamecube come back in style by being portable & start selling the old games again.

  • @abovethuniverse

    thanks :)

  • What the fuck is that noise? And any way, this is the most awkward looking pgc I've seen

  • can u stick it in your pocket??

  • your guide on benheck is amazing, thank you. And this turned out pretty nicely!

  • @unicycler17 thanks for your comment :), well, my guide is just a small pack of some important info from benheck forums with some minor aditions with some crappy microsoft paint images hehe, anyway glad it worked to you ;)

  • @tieigo1 I tried, but looks like the "stuff" was a little bigger for the HDD case, however this portable have 2 year + and was my first gamecube portable, thanks for your comment ^^

  • The legend :)

  • yeah

  • its a bricked gamecube... that still works! lol

  • I can put a tv,a power generator,and a ps3 in a cardboard box and I will have a portable ps3. really good though...

  • Comment removed

  • what kind of sandpaper did u used to get that rustic finish

  • @monotirado mmm, not sure, I used a P120 labeled yellow sandpaper.

however after recording this video I aplied sandpaper over te whole wood of this project and I gave black paint to the whole case, you can check the video details to get into the official topic/worklog, and check the last pics

  • Whats the price i would give anything 4 this portable!!!

  • nice job, but what is the the incrementally high pitched noise in the video? (starts at a low pitch and gets higher and higher)

  • bootuns

  • SAND THAT WOOD.

  • thats fucking huge

  • wow this could fit in my pocket hehehe but pretty cool though

  • this portable system is perfect and fit in your pocket ;P......

  • That is THE most bad ass looking portable Gamecube. And that flip door with the magnets is genius. Great job man.

  • @IceCatraz

    thank you.

there are another gamecubes portables with better looking like SS ones.

    thanks anyway ^_^

  • ill just shove my gamecube in my vhs player tv

  • OMG LOL WHAT THE FUCK THAT IS THE MOST RETARDED THING IVE EVER SEEn

  • Portable? Id rather bring the T.V in the Car!!!!

  • i think your cam is going to explode!

  • is that supose to be portable

    ??

  • you have to open your arms pretty wide to play it hmm....

    portable smhortable

  • its cool but its not portable really i can't see playing that in my car O_O and the controls look rather hard to use.

  • did you noticed it was too big for being portable?

  • that looks so shit hahahahahahahaha

  • Hahaha DEH JOYSTIEK DE BUTTONS HAHAHA DEH DEH DEH

  • Nintendo GhettoCube

  • @ghostninja yes, hahaa another one! this thing looks hidious hahahaha the accent hahaa no offense haha

  • Thats a portable?

  • its kinda too big to be really portable

  • can a memeory card be used? can you do multiplayer?

  • @alexxb115

yes and yes, memcard slots are on the top of the system, at the video I'm using a 2048 blocks memory card (white color), and some months ago, I also added a player 2 port, I also could add player 3 and 4 ports, but I dont love the idea of having 3 persons stuck at you at all (imagine 4 persons playing with the same gameboy or nintendo DS, or PSP screen, it could be kinda annoying huh? :D)

    thanks for your comment ^^

  • @alexxb115 Memory card can be used he did say there were ports 4 them 2 actually but not if can play multiplayer?

  • i dont understand that thing isnt portable that thing is its friggn huge

  • exelent bro

  • @squallXC

    thanks ^_^

  • improve your english guy! lol

  • WOW learn proper english...

  • memory card port?

  • @TheHeartlessMaster

both of them are at the top part of the system, on the screen, and near the reset buttom, at the video I ask "memcard slots" , btw my pronuntiation was kinda crappy, I admit ^^

ypu have more detail at the links I provided.

    thanks for your comment ^_^

  • How did you split the controls down each side?

  • @1zacster I used two controllers, (its posible to make it just using one, but I didnt had enough experience) I cut 1 controller in half, and I soldered the buttoms to the other controller board, so I was able to toggle the buttoms of a controller from another one, if you are interested I made a guide for portabilizing gamecubes, you can find the guide at the video description.

    have fun ^_^

  • this is all gr8 indeed im pretty impressed but my first impresion was 2 things

1.) was that a fucking tv

2.) IS THERE TEA BEING MADE IN THE BACK!!!!!

3.) this mixes in with the tv and the tea i thought i was gona get rickrolled because the game cube look u chose is so bulky, and teh tea is like getting louder and louder and i thought when it gets as loud as can be i thought i was gona hear NEVER GONA GIVE U UP but

this looks relitivly light and rly fun jsut to have ^_^ i mean kwl points

  • @NinjaIke

yes, I agree with you at the annoying camera sound, and the size of the system, anyway I think this video is not the best I can do, so Im thinking about relase a second video with no sound problems and with someone who records me playing at the system instead use one hand for the camera and another for "playing" cuz most of gamming systems require two hands at the controller.

    thanks for your comment ;)

  • thats big u call that portable!

  • thats not very portable :/

  • @yit2525 if you have a bookbag then yeah its pretty portable

  • @yit2525 It's a start! :)

  • You did better than i probably ever will. :) Good Job! But isn't it hard to play though?

  • @DoodlDdot

as a Initial design/prototype, I'm very satisfected with my job at the system.

also did some updates/fixes at this system, like paint it, install some upgreades like visual rumble (led), external usb port to program the modchip, external switch to turn on/off the modchip and some other minor features.

btw, in the other hand, the design and the size of the entire system are not the desired ones, this means I will apply the knowledge I had earn at this project to improve the next one.

  • @DoodlDdot

the gamming experience is OK, I tested it a few time with both hands (not just with the system resting on a desk with a camera in one hand ^^)

I beated some games at this system and I liked the experience, at next portable, I will fix some design bugs and I will work to make the whole system smaller, by applying some new hacks I learned recently.

also have more plans for the case, I will use plastic instead wood, its about time to learn about vacuum former, results will improve.

  • @DoodlDdot

srry about the multiple mesages, but youtube have a max size for the text tinput :/

also forgot to say: thanks for your comment ^_^

  • good job but it looks sort of like an old tv lol

  • @AwesomeAlex0128

    :D

    thanks for your comment

  • @capitankasar btw srry for callin u poor im not in a good mood

  • @nibler25

    three-ply post? :D

no problem man, I saw worse things at the comments of this video,I dont delete them but I just reply to the ones I consider I have to reply ^_^, regarding to your comment, well currently I dont have enough money for my hoobies, so I cancel to much projects, and some others I acomplish, I just finish them at the "cheap way", so yes, at some kind of talking ,I'm a little poor :D

    thanks for your comment ^_^

  • @capitankasar btw srry for callin u poor im not in a good mood

  • @capitankasar btw srry for cqllin u poor im not in a good mood

  • U use WOOD?! R u poor?! (no offense but really?wood as a case?when it ovr heats its gunna be on fire lolz

  • @nibler25

yes, I used wood, and yes, I made this system with a very limited amunt of cash.

anyway, the heat is not a problem at this system, I spent a reasonable amount of time designing a cooling system, I also added a extra fan, so the system still cooled enough after 1, 2 hours of playtime. so I never had any fire problems :D

    thx for your coment ^_^

  • What screen did you use? It looks bigger than the PsOne screen.

  • @hatwithfloppers

    I used a 8" screen

model: xenarc 800m (the model is discontinued)

  • 3 things.

    1.I can barely understand you

    2. Why the fuck does it sound like your camera is going to explode?

    3. not do hurt your feelings but, THIS IS TOTALLY SHITTY!!

  • nice!!! :D

  • @meanberganimation

    thanks for your comment ^_^

  • cool

  • @CrasherGamer100

    thank you :)

  • jee-vi-di-kiss d-v-d-case

  • @rsMAstER991

:D hehe, yep my english pronunciation is not good enough, I admit it, I am thinking about add subtitles :D

  • Damn this thing looks awesome.

  • @Omega7Gamer

    thanks for your commeent :)

  • to big

  • i hope u made this as a joke...

  • @KuraiShoka

    thanks for your comment :)

    pleased you liked it ^^

  • @KuraiShoka

    ok ^_^

yes, sometimes benheck forums are down for a little minutes, those servers are pretty overloaded some days.

    anyway thanks for reporting ;)

  • @KuraiShoka

    wich one of them?

checked a minute ago all the links at the video description and all of them are working fine ^_^

  • That's not Portable, LOL!!!

  • @AllHailKingKurt It's portable if you can take it places without plugging it up. It is portable.

  • @prosper58 For it to be a Portable System a person would have to be able to pick it up with Ease and take it along with them anywhere they go, This Beast is bigger than the Gamecube System, which would be a lot easier to travel with and easily hooks up to a Television!

  • @AllHailKingKurt You can't play a gamecube on a bus. Portable doesn't mean handheld. It means something you can take anywhere and it still works fine. I know its huge, but that doesn't make it not portable. I know I wouldn't take it anywhere.

  • @prosper58 LOL, I can't see anyone trying to play this huge thing on a bus either, really, I can't imagine anyone holding this system and playing it anywhere, it looks like a person would need a desk or table to rest this system on, there are some good Gamecube Portable Mods, this just isn't one of them!

  • @AllHailKingKurt I know, the thing is a monster. I was just explaining that it is portable.

  • how big is the screen?

  • @awsomeaustin316

    8" TFT ,640x480

    the model is xenarc 800m

  • dosent look to portable lol

  • @thecritic643 you could put it on a horse and have it move around.

  • that thing is huge

  • @digit4ld3thx10 that's what she said.

And nice work, kasar. I wish I could do that stuff myself :)

  • is there like tea in the backround

  • @DragonZapper1996 nope, there isnt any tea on the background, it is a interference with the camera and the system, anyway this question has been already replied before in the comments and in video description/details

  • give me you e-mail invite you to lockerz

    by youtube name lockerz

  • I hear a mosquito in the speaker

  • oh yes, that looks very portable >.>

  • cooling hoes lolwut

  • looks like those old tv's

  • I have a french rifal. Never been shot only droped once! XD

  • si, ahi le has dado ^_^

    saludos ^^

  • aah im going crazy of that noise!!@!!@@!@! whaiovjawovknasoingoiavjoiwjfoij BOOOOOOOM!!!

  • youre mexican right?? xD

  • @menyproduccion

    nope. I'm from spain :D

  • Looks great, ignore the haters, they couldn't build a case half as good, let alone wire everything.

A GameCube portable is certainly something to be proud of. Great work, 5 stars.

    :)

  • thanks a lot for your comment and rate :)

yeah, I usually ignore the haters comments.

about my project: I admit the results could be a little better, but I apreciate you apreciate my current effort.

    thank you ^_^

  • @capitankasar

Hey, no problem man, you deserve it. :)

  • wtf? why made the case in tree? its looks lake crap and im shour it feel lake crap then you play

  • :D seems you dont like the wood so much ^ ^

well, in the video, the fact that I use it with just 1 hand looks really annoying, but when you dont have to hold a camera and you can hold the whole system with two hands and have full access to the controls the point of view change significatly.

I agree the case is not the best, but it is a starting for future portables, no one start with its best ^^

  • this things a piece of shit

  • it souds like a fly is buzzing

  • i want one can you make a video on how to make one

  • mmm, a video guide will be really long and useless to do.

anyway I made a guide a few time ago, check the video info/details at the right side of this page, and click on the guide url.

    :)

  • it sounds like somethings going to explode in the background

  • @7fulgore7 I kno I listened to this with a headset and thought i was gunna BLOW UP

  • NICE JOB is looking biger then the original gamecube

  • Heh, Mirror Mode. Now you can experience the Wii version of TP on the Gamecube version :P

Anyway, great work. This is very cool. I especially like that little disc hatch with the magnets.

  • hehe :D

the bad thing is that it also reverse the texts ^_^

about the magnets, I got the idea from some toys I had laying arround from my childness :)

thanks very much for your comment ;)

  • great work!

improvisional work is always the most enjoyable to observe, again, nice work.

  • thanks a lot for your comment :)

    ^_^

  • nice. lol ur accent makes me laugh. But 1 thing... wtf is about to blow up in your house? do you hear that? it just keeps getting louder

  • thanks ^^

hehe sorry about my accent, sadly my talked english is not as acceptable as my written one ^^

    (I'm spanish)

yeah, about the noise, it has been asked before too, I think is some kind of electrical noise wich affect the camera, when recording I didnt noticed anything unusual, I just heared it when I saw the recorded bid.

    thanks for your comment.

  • THIS IS THE... DUVERDER CASE

sorry i had to do it.

looks cool i could never do anything like it

  • PORTABLE?????? yeah right

  • erm wtf? portable i wouldnt want to carry that around but nicely built 4/5 stars

  • wish i could make this but no soldering iron. :(

  • oh, dont worry about that :)

soldering iron is quite cheap and easy to use, you also can use my guides. try also on benheck forums to get extra info, I learned all I know from that site, them are really awesome people.

about everything relating with electronics or portabilizing, go there.

I can try also help you if you get stuck on some part of the guide.

  • Soooo cooool

  • thanks :)

  • I didn't know you could burn those little discs

  • with a modchip, a goodPOT adjustement, and some good recordable DvDs, yep, it is posible to burn GC games and get them working :)

at the video, I used normal size DVDs, but them are recorded up to the size of the gamecube Minidvds, due the GC laser cannot read data outside the mini DvDs size.

the best software I saw to burn GC/WII discs is IMGBURN, with DVD +R you should change the booktype to DVD-ROM, and use lower recording speed, all the games I burned at 1x run nice ^^

  • WTF is that annoying noise? i was starting to think it's the gamecube..(hopefully not) anyways nice job on that. i'm looking to start making my own.

  • oh, not sure about the noise, probably some interference or electric noise wich made the camera crazy ^^.

oh, if you wanna make your own, there is toons of info at benheck site. I also posted a small guide/FAQ on it

good luck with that, and thanks for your comment :)

  • Wow thats pretty cool :)

You should post pics of the painted version :)

  • thx a lot ^^

oh, I already have some pics, If you want to see them, check the video info, and click at the first link, then check the last page of the topic, the pics are there :)

  • Comment removed

  • its made of wood what the heck

  • yep ^^, heck or not, its wood :D

hehe, I may upload later the "painted" version.

It also have some drawings over the paint color.

  • its huge wtf

  • tiny games systems are difficult to see the graphics. dont play games on my phone cause of that. this is a bit big though

  • +1 ^^

  • YOU TEA IS READY!!

  • whew,,, cool dvd drive mann

  • ty

    ^^

  • this makes me lol, this is a parody video right?

  • uhhh?

    errrr, no ^^

  • sorry, I just assumed it was considering it appears to be the size of my friggin television and therefore not portable at all

  • the sad part is that its not a parody damn this thing sucks

  • Ahh, now that's cool. :D Great work!

  • thanks :D

  • dooovd case hahaha anyone say phonejacker XD

    nice mod tho
