I kinda disagree with you about what you said with dracula because even though he's the antagonist he is the main character so you want to see a lot of dracula
I see you guys haven't read Hellspawn, have you? I think it is the best portrayal of spawn (and, in my opinion, the only good one), it is not colourful, it is dark and spawn is portrayed as an urban character who doesn't talk much. and it worked.
I 'highly' recommend the 'Ashley Wood' collection of it, which contains the first whole storyarc by michael brian bendis and every issue the magnificent Ashley Wood has worked on. Hellspawn truly is a mature take on the character which foremost centers around very adult themes like raping, antisemitism, and psychological syndroms, while at the same time questioning the morality of christianity on a very subtle level. Michael Brian Bendis writing is top-notch, and the art by wood is just stunning
I agree, the old stuff is WAY better than the current stuff. I think the animated series on HBO was great too.
I think after the movie, people got so turned off by it and the comic adapted it self to the movie so much people just chose to not read it.
True as well, I think the story got way out of hand. It went way to far into left field that readers didn't know what the heck they where reading. On to part 2!
I use to be a big spawn fan and I liked endgame but after a while the comics started coming out late and I just gave up on it we were promised a new a new animated series and I've seen nothing so I've just given up on Spawn as a whole.
I started looking at the pic whenyou said it was a venom image and it looks exactly as spideys black suit when mcfarlane drew it, take off the cape and gadgets and those designs in his body and its exactly ad black spidey. Also its in a pose which resembles spiderman A LOT
People hate Todd Mcfarlane? I stopped reading Spawn after like......let me go check my collection reall quick....... After issue #64! i picked up the new stuff called Spawn: engame. Wich wasnt that dissapointing. Sucked that Al killed himslef though. i also picked up a couple of issues from the Sam and Twitch series. But stopped picking it up beacause the art was horrible.Todd Mcfarlane is one of my favorite artists of all time.
