  • Mexicans, Indians, Americans, who cares? These guys made some unbelievable music, and that's true even if it turns out they're really Martians.

  • YOU GOT SOME FUCKING HATERS DONT HATE ON REDBONE THEY HAVE CLASS MOTHERFUCKERS

  • REDBONE WERE INDIANS DONT ANYBODY KNOW SHIT TODAY

  • and injuns is not the correct way to refer to Indians...

  • if you noticed..natives and mexicans look very much alik..should say something 98% of mexicans have native blood and are full natives but you obviously dont know tht..maybe a powwow festival can teach you tht.

  • @lafeamasbella246 that is so true. I do not understand why people cannot conceive of the reality that if Native Americans and Mexicans lived on the same continent....with no freaking boundaries, that they are the same people, basically. That is why all this illegal immigration bullshit is just that, bullshit. Noone has more right to be in this country than Native Americans and Mexicans.

  • you guys are friggin racist and dont kno shit! you obviously dont know that mexicans are native. uh we're in encyclopedia of natives. we were labeled mexican by the europeans. the spanish. and in the redbone theres natives and there is a mexican in it. they dont play to be anything it is what it is and youre so ignorant and mad just cuz you know its true but you want to insult and be ignorant. learn your shit. and really wetbacks?

  • THATS RIGHT YOU HAD IT COMING BIG TIME

  • LOVE THIS SHIT

  • FUCK YOU REDBONE WERE NOT WETBACKS YOU DONT NO SHIT BITCH FUCK YOU REDBONE WAS THE SHIT BACK IN THE 70S WHAT YOU NO MOTHERFUCK ER

  • LOVE YOU REDBONE THIS IS AJAM

  • too bad smallpox wasnt thorough

  • looks like they all take it in the back !

  • @wc4dblues

Phoney injuns too! These were fuckin' wetbacks!

  • Original - Beautiful - Good Looking - Fun Loving - Happy People !!!

  • These ain't injuns, they're frickin' Mexicans! ;)

  • WTF? These ain't injuns!

  • yep. custer had it comming..that wigga white niga was tooo arrogant

  • hahah a white dude odd but its all good

  • this is like a native american village people

  • I get a kick out of this tune

  • Custer had it coming because as brave as he was he made a poor military decision. He was cocky. He should have went in with more force and would have demolished those brave Indians. Either way brave men from both sides died. Over Custer's cockiness and poor judgment.

They should have sent Gen Sherman. Things wouldve have been different.

  • It was such and awful waste of Human life both on American Indian and the white people. But htat is what history so moving to know that we dont make the same mistakes.

  • saw them on AMERICAN BANDSTAND IN 1973 74 come and get your love

  • And for the record...Sitting Bull did not lead the battle at Wounded Knee, he wasn't even there, he was on a sacred mountain top praying for the outcome of the battle. A young, handsome military 'chief' named "GALL" of the Hunkpapa Lakota, actually planned and orchestrated the indians attack at Wounded Knee. The other key player in this Historical Victory was ofcourse, CRAZY HORSE!

  • @Melbow14n Actually the facts you are relating DO NOT relate to WOUNDED KNEE,...they relate to THE BATTLE OF THE GREASY GRASS,...or as most call it, the battle of the LITTLE BIGHORN. There was NO BATTLE OF WOUNDED KNEE in the 19th Century, only a MASSACRE of INNOCENT PEOPLE by some sub-human scum. The 20th Century would of course see a "battle" at Wounded Knee. Misinformation goes a long way, please remember this when relating native history. :)

  • @HALFBREEDBILLYGRAM

Yes you are right...I got so worked up about the whole thing that I MISSED THE OBVIOUS! VERY observative of you. Won't happen again, glad somebody is paying attention.

  • @Melbow14n P.S: That was FOR YOUR RECORD. lmao

  • Custer ABSOLUTELY had it coming! Regardless of the fact that he was outnumbered, he put his men in harms way just to beat the two other Generals to the battlefield. He was suppose to wait for the other two flanks before attacking. He was an arrogant, vain, dumbass, that amazingly got recorded in our history books as a "HERO".

  • damn this song made me think my left speaker was busted

  • yeah, its fashionable to bash Custer today in order to "fit in" so to speak, thats always easier than researching the facts.

  • so this is after thre album cycles?

  • Yep...Custer certainly had it coming - too bad good horses were killed too.

  • Ya Custer Did Had It Coming To Him I guess He Forgot How Big We Are We Out Numbered Him And his Troop's Custer Had It Coming To Him If You Think That The Great Spirit Will Forget What You Do On This Earth You'r Dead Worng He Know's Every Thing And Custer Forgot That..

  • OMG, talk about a flash back.

  • Wow .......disco meets native issues.....uhhhhhh : (

  • What an asshole statement, that was the music of the day.....look up Cherokee rap puto.

  • is that lolly with a fuckin perm...i think custerd [lol] died laughing when he saw that shit.

  • I agree..lol

  • @richluvsellie No SH!T!!! Friggin' Mexicans playing like they're injuns! LMAO!!!!

  • You could also read the book about the genocide of the natives...in "Bury my heart at Wounded Knee" written by Dee Brown and the movie made by HBO with the same title.

Watch "Little Big man" or "Soldier Blue".

  • I thought this was The Village People at first.

  • why a white person in this group?

  • It would be nice if Andrew Jackson was there, the American Hitler... He should have been hanged.

  • He liked the bands music abd believed in their songs and worked as a producer for them during the 1980's- welcome to my show!

  • well they had a little fushion thing goin anyway with their influences....music is the universal language you know.

  • @triforcenerd You ask this question and you obviously never got even an inkling of the message of Redbone's music. Racism is Racism btw. This question was lame.

  • General custard had it coming!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • redbone is really great love this song

    love u uncle lolly

  • is this is a joke? Whats up with those weird mustaches???

  • This is the gayest thing I have ever seen bar none maybe it was the times it was filmed , but c'mon this sucks

  • Cuacualtzin(Beautiful)! Tlaskamati for sharin', nice tune, but i like Redbone's other songs better, anyways this is rated macuilli citlalin(five stars)! Tlaskamati to my friend tanya for the share! = )

  • my heros have always killed cowboys.......

  • killing bad

  • @groffel123

i think there trying to emulate the village people all a bunch a homosexuals, however i don't think this band "custer" is NOT gay but song still sucks ass

  • the late 80's were so lame although, this isn't so bad - normal for the times. The era of the synth, I'm so glad for grunge having changed all that.

  • Explore more..this is totally lame for 80s & if it weren't for the 80s there would be no 90s Look it is unending how much amazing music manifested during that bizarre decade. Now, I hung out in edgy places that played exclusively rare a lot of euro punk & indie but even the rock scene was out of this world. Pink Floyd made their best music during this time. Aimee Mann who flourished in the 90s was the lead singer for Til Tuesday as the lead singer for the Breeders started out with the Pixies.

  • luv this soo much I'm Ngati Porou one of the Maori tribes native to new zealand. Redbone rocks

  • They looked normal in the '70's. Here they looked like the Village People.

  • boy the 80's sucked.

  • Does that announcer really say "Custard" had it coming? That looked like a scene from Ron Burgandy.

  • I'm native american on my mother's side also; grandfather's side.

  • I'm also native american and white; cherokee on my father's side. Well. I guess I'm redbone also.

  • me too, first i thought i was a mixture of different indian tribes, otomi, pur'epecha and some mayan tribe, but, alas, i also have some irish in me!lol,....an indian irish guy,lol,...i'm redbone too!; )

  • This video is pure genius pathetic yet absolutely amazinggggg

  • Is this for real???

  • first and original? what about XIT?

no disrespect XIT was more solid indian origina l rock music. more then redbone. but i loove redbone and xit anyway

  • so boppy! so politically correct! such passive christian forgiveness! divine jc of retribution, wasichu's got it coming! i love these guys.

  • down the man......up the indian

  • what ever happen to them?

  • This is great! I've never seen it before - thanks for posting :D

    I'm a Redbone.... well, more like a Mixed-Bleed :D

  • Lolly and Pat have the best voices....and yeah the American Genocide was the first one of such size the 19&20th century...not to be forgotten. AND many Indigenious people grow mustaches...look at some of the current 100% Yaqui...HUGE mustaches...deep in the heart of their homeland

  • Two of these guys have a mustash, I always thought that Native Americans didn't grow facial hair.

  • They're mixed. Hence, the name. :-)

  • I suppose I really don't have grounds to make a comment. I am Polish/American....I don't visit Poland to tell whats left of Germany to go fuck off ! and stay on out of my dead great grand parents city. So much time has passed since Custer. I suppose the old saying comes to mind...why beat a dead horse ? Empires rise and fall, the strong survive & the weak...are less forunate.

  • Ah!!

Unfortunately for all you people who need to go down the line.

    I'm a Full-blood Menominee and Ojibwe..HA!!!

Glad to see my people had some shit going on.

    Now its my turn..Fuck Custer!!

  • I'm 3/4 Ojibwe and Suix

  • is this them I don't think so, well maybe after they might have sold out I guess? checkout the cool 70's porn staches, words are okay out of oral history but I think some nutty producer got a hold of it and decided it should sound like pop at time. oh wait it's all hoolwood never mind. lol

  • Man this is hysterical. The next song in the set was YMCA?

Here was I thinking I was really hip to have bought a Redbone album in the 70's. What happened to them?

  • definitely custard 0:15. but he raises a good point custard does deserve to be destroyed pudding is where its at

  • this is really gay

    im indian

    and this sucks

and im pretty sure those jackets are seminole jackets

  • they used to represent with real native style -before the mullets. See their old shit.

  • i thought the same. but i love the early stuff. but this grew on me. just like ELP love beach

  • Yes! Custer had it Coming! True story!

    blessed be!

  • It's always sad when a great group comes to its necessary end, only to have someone claim the name and carry on as if nothing had changed. Tony Bellamy, Pete DePoe and Lolly Vegas were essential to Redbone. Pat should be secure enough to perform as Pat Vegas.

  • i wish he would tour

  • Sorry guys, General Custer married a very pretty woman. That will not fit with your Gay Pride

  • You should not be afraid of your homosexuality. Only the white christains would condem you for creator creating yous as he wanted you.

  • I meant the folowing to CusterDivision the one who hates who he is, because he denies his tue self:

You should not be afraid of your homosexuality. Only the white christains would condem you for creator creating yous as he wanted you

  • No shit! Custer had it coming!

  • custer was an arrogant (sp?) idiot. he totally ignored warnings, and led an entire division to death. anyone riding around a battle field with their blonde curls flowing, is just silly. too bad his army had to pay for his stupidity

  • These guys are bigger homos than the village people .

  • If you cannot see a younger Redbone in a couple of these guys you must be blind, that is like saying videos lie- No way this was shot in the late 1980's in Los Angeles.

  • Great Post, love the interview.

  • @joelsamuel I agree with you on this point, no way is this the late 80s.

  • I respect the message, but these guys blow

  • I worship the Redbone band. I see them in my visions 24/7. Spirit twins I presume. Da best!

  • moustache men have a funny look, good song

  • vega changed his shirt shirt for the interview.

catchy but not my favoret song by them. by any means.

    but long live redbone

  • Yeah it sticks with you...but then again so does herpes...

  • Pure shite...such a shame from such a talented group

  • i totaly agree. a shame. but it sticks with you

  • BUENA GENTE

  • I thought this was the Village idiots, I mean Village People for a second !

  • pretty wierd look for redbone. The main voice is Pat Vegas but wheres the other 3? This is NOT REDBONE

  • Brothers Patrick & Lolly Vegas, formerly Vasquez, formed Redbone in L.A. in 1968. The original band consisted of the Vegas brothers, drummer Peter DePoe & Tony Bellamy (guitar, piano, vocals). Butch Rillera replaced DePoe & Redbone achieved much of their commercial success after that. Pat Vegas leads the current band (it's in the video). Raven Hernandez (guitar, vocals & songwriter) replaced Lolly after he suffered a stroke in 1995. Tony Bellamy was later forced to retire due to illness.

  • Redbone's members changed in 2006. The current Redbone consists of Pat Vegas, Mark Guerro, Raven Hernandez, Steve Roybal, George Ochoa, Karl Carrasco (keyboard), Ron Reyes (lead guitar), Art Sanchez (bass), and Ron Zapata (drums). The band's name and Pat Vegas are the only remaining original aspects of Redbone.

  • To understand the music of Redbone, enlighten yourself on the concept of "Manifest Destiny" (Wikipedia). Mexicans are Mayan/Aztec Indians. They share the same DNA of all the original people, natural born heirs, of North, Central and South America.

  • any native accept the hispanic people as native to this land which only god owns

  • I have records that I got in Port Angeles, Washington in 1973 or 1974. Something don't look right about this. ...also was on K-TEL.

  • hok-a-hey

  • Hello, I love Redbone. Of old Redbone, Tony and Pat both year of the snake in Chinese astrology. Walking Bear is Goat, and Lolly is rabbit. I like also the band today.

    Peace

  • they look white...

  • redbone means half breed

  • Thank You! You are the only one to point that out. And what the hey anyway. Who really cares. 1/4 1/16th etc. The message could come from any one. There is a Redbone society. It is to connect people with thier roots. The name Redbone is old and does come from mixed people. It has taken on a derrogatory shadow, but people who are redbone are proud to say I am a redbone. Cajun, Indian, French, Spanish, creole, etc

  • Good one thanks for sharing ... L&L to you and yours..keep shining brightly..!

  • i think its cool yhat some had the balls to stand up agains the whites in the 70s knowing that its true

  • You mean the 1870's or the 1970's? Well, I wouldn't say Custer had it comin. On the other hand, if he hadn't messed the Indians, well, gee, he might have lived to be an old man.

  • Really,are they the "Redbone"? i can't recognise them!!!

  • NO way is that THE real Redbone. WTF is this shit?

  • What a bunch of gayblades, I think these are the guys the went on to form the band Village People.

  • So that's where my moms brown jacket went!!!!!

    PUNCHAIN

  • i like there old stuff better they look so gay in this

  • does look kinda crazy but they were probably just having some fun, I wonder if they remember the old Long Beach auditorium..so long ago

  • Cute, funny, original, tight band.

  • great mustache

  • Excellent! I really love the cultural heritage, as I am part NDN. I am trying to get in touch with my roots.

  • Its not hard to look for them, start now it will take a while.

  • Custer did have it coming. A minutes silence for Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull and other brave warriors.

  • this was not the first indian rock band. has anyone ever heard of the band exit?

  • spelled Xit and they were good but I always liked RedBone and Pat and Lolly Vegas, had it going on in LA, all over. Fan forever, just like being Ndn forever

  • hey, sorry for spelling it wrong but xit was really great, i have 2 of their cds,ive had them for 15 years now!!

  • where can i get there cd

  • i have 5 cds of theres

  • obviously u do not know who u are watching.... douche bag. pay attention next time. show sum respect.... bye...

  • lolly looks good like always... pat looks like he was in a DISCO all nite... ;-) i love this, i think its funny in a cute way, cuz thats how i recall people dressing back then ( hair, clothes ect.) LUV IT...

  • @LuVsAiLoRs -yes thats what people dont realize, they are dressing with what was maybe some of the style back then.of course they still looked good back in the 70's

  • Wonderful musicians and wonderful people.

  • This was back in the 1980's hey where were you when this stuff was going on things have changed light years in technology since those days and they were at the beginning so unless you have walked in their mocasins YaTaHey to you..

  • One thing now about Redbone is that they were true to their native roots. Now I know everyone in America claims to be part Native, NDN is in your heart and not a lot of people can claim that part without looking phony, and Redbone was never phonies. Skins out to have a good time...I mean look at the songs they did, this video was just for fun-and Custer did have it coming to him.

  • That's because a lot of us do have Native blood.

  • that is something that could go to court and have to be proven. Nowadays its not even

1/16th it is down to 1/32's, if you can prove it. That's what I mean, my husband is a full blood Lakota from Pine Ridge, SD and he works for a company where trucks pull in from all over the US and each trucker tells him that they are part Indian. We have all of our degree of blood papers too, but never had to pull them out - so calm down. Empress?

Redbone still did good for our people

  • I'm not upset. Just stating a fact. You may look at me and think I'm kidding you when I tell you my father's mom was Seminole/ Cherokee. Because I don't look native. My Dad and grandmother do though. I don't tell people. My grandmother didn't tell people, because to be of mixed blood could have meant my grandfather's dental patients would have shunned him. Some tribes are much more accepting of people with mixed blood. Other tribes are all about pure blood. I like Redbone. I always have.

  • NDN's don't even say "Pureblood" thats for canines...duh,

Yes, Redbone was a good group and I thought this video was funny.

  • Did you mean purebread? Pureblood is a term I heard used at the Taos Pueblo, by the Indian, yes he called himself Indian, tour guide. It didn't seem to bother him. He did say that to the Red Willow people, it's very important to stay pure in blood. They can't pass their pueblo dwellings down to someone who is not 100% Indian. Hey, no use going around uptight about all of this. By the way, you said your husband is 100%. What about you?

  • you said "pure blood" not me, and I am Oneida, Cheyenne and Lakota full blood. If an Indian calls him/herself Indian then they must be Indian, Its hard to be full blood, let alone pure like the driven snow. What about me? I think your comments are pretty narrow minded and only catch the tip of the iceberg on what it is to be Native, that was funny (purebread) or did you mean pure breed?

  • I may be the Empress of Wyoming, but it doesn't stop me from being the queen of typos. I don't blame you for your ire. American Natives have been put through much hell. The pride you feel in your heritage is moving. We agree on one thing at least: Redbone is a good part of our history. You and I are very close in age and share a common era. Peace be with you, lady.

  • __Custer had it Comin___ OHH yeah no do the Centipede!1

What Happened to Redbone this is almost a Skit..a joke Damn Thsi Is funny

  • Love Redbone, but this is not their best moment. Less hairspray, mustaches, and perms would be nice.

  • yeah these guys reminded me of The Village people

  • Met a member of Redbone in bar here Lawton, Oklahoma, it was funny, he was a member

  • The Disco Redbone sucks- Give me the original guys. Thanks for posting this anyway because I didn't remember the Disco Redbone.

PS Redbone is also the name of a type of hound we have down south.

  • Looking for the brother of a member of Redbone - Last seen in City of Industry, California (Krispy Kremes) - Tahosapiya

  • Remind me to never play Bingo again!

  • What the hell is this? Looks like some bizarre Village People band from Albania.

  • Is this a joke!!???

who are the two on the right? Luke warm water and his twin!

  • LOL LOL LOLO LOLO the Lyrics are truthful though-Custer did have it comin-- Its the Outfits damn!!! LOLOL gaww

__Custer had it comin__ now Breakdance an Worm everyone-- this is 1984

  • This is NOT the original band. Redbone broke up in the late 70's and this is Pat Vegas' sort of "new" Redbone.

  • These cats sure did change from the 70's I couldn't recognize them. Hope they are still making music thank you for this great song.

  • serbin people

  • How the mighty fell.

    Was anybody NOT on coke?

  • They were just a band of brother's trying to make it in a very difficult business and the styles and the personna were from the 1980's so if you were not there I guess you can't relate, but these guys were musical pioneer's and the first Native America Rockstars- Kudo's to them always..

  • Well I was born in 1978, so I mainly got the pop music crap that played on the radio. You know, Lionel Richie this, Madonna that kinda treatment. Lucky for me it didn't kill me! :P

  • Damn! The 80s killed those american indian rockstars! The two on the right are just awfully dressed. Where's Boy George? And how about the awful slowmotion and hat, etc. ANyway, thx for the obscure footage.

  • What good didn't the 80s kill?

So true. A great and clever message destroyed by synthesisers and fugly fashion.

  • Amen to that!

  • hey yo, when did American Indian pride turn into gay pride?

  • haha wow i lost some respect for them.

  • Is this the original band??? They look like the Village People!!!

  • Anyone have the full set of lyrics for this song, REDBONE is one of my favorite bands! but its hard to find lyrics for them.

    Thanks.

  • great rare stuff thanks for saving your videos.
