  • just bend it over ur knee lock one spring under ur bottom calf and the other sring with ur right hand then use ur left hand to set the trigger.n o need for that tool.just more junk to be carrying and worki ng with in the -40 winter

  • i set those traps by hand all the time on the trapline....

  • @killinitraw69 awesome dude can you make a vid of it. :)

  • lol, check out my vids, 14 and i can set em with my hands....lol

  • beaver or wolf, hell, bobcat, badger, all those gritty critters.

  • is 'the trip' kinda liek a hook and when u lift the place where there step in it hooks and stays there?

  • why though? a beaver i thought was never that big, i use a #3 coil spring for my woodchucks, and the jaws arnt nearly as big as those

  • It isnt common but Beaver can reach close to eighty pounds. I prefer a #4 when I use a foothold for beaver. I think #5s are better suited for wolf. You usually use a slightly larger trap for water animals because they are a little harder to hold and most footholds are set on a drowning rig. Which needs enough weight to work. I prefer to use a 330 Connibear though.

  • wtc?dude if urgonna trap use a real trap. i likelong springs but dude u dint tell use to smoke them,u dint tell us place them carefully.buck u!!!!!

  • hi, great video. i was wondering. how does the strike pan set off the trap? ive been looking on the web but i couldnt find a picture taken at an angle that would allow me to see how it could work. before you set off the trap i saw that you set a clamp over a jaw and hooked it somewhere onto the strike pan. could you explain that for me, or better yet tell me where I can find a picture that shows that part of the trap? thanks again for posting this vid.

  • set it on your knee with your hands.

the trick is to get hands close to the spring eyes so you can control the way they close

  • beaver

  • i hate to sound like a numbnut but what do you use #5's for? becaues i use a #2 coil spring for fox and a number #3for coyotoes

  • Beaver, just liek he said.
