No wonder the train's going slow. have a look at the state of the trackwork. Sure could use a bit of maintenance. Do you have many train wrecks over there?
how do those train crossings figure out when to drop the gate? i use to think it was a sensor a certain distance away from the crossing, but this video shows an obvious calculated time of intersection. is there an array of sensors that calculate the speed of the approaching train, and then the cross can anticipate the train crossing?
If you look before the crossing on either side you will see a wire feeding into one of the rails. When a train approaches, the metal wheels bridge the gap between the two and complete the circuit. The lower the resistance, the closer the train. If the resistance slows or stops and remains constant, the signals will deactivate.
Great video Ervan but the problem is with youtube I am having the same problem as every one else start stop hd is jerky don't load right you have to click hd on and off to get the whole video sure wonder when they are going to fix all their problems.
why is the train going so slow?

I still think it's sensors, but I don't know for sure how they figure out when to drop the gate.

Okay, I solved the problem.
The video can't be viewed in HD.
Uncheck the HD, and it works.

Try later I did get it to work in HD, but it is slow to load.
ervans 2 years ago
I'm trying to watch this video, as it appears to be really outstanding.
But, the darn thing won't load!
Is it because a whole bunch of other folks are also trying to watch this video at the same time?

I do think it is because of that
