the drawing of the five men seems to be incorrect. If I remember correctly, Heather reads in the movie that each mans hands that tied to the next mans feet... in the drawing it is feet tied to feet and hands tied to hands. I like the idea of a fake documentary, but I would've wished that there wasn't flaws like that.

Guys, everyone is like "omg let's go camp there, it would be so scary!" When I saw this movie for the first time, I was at my grandparents' house in Olney, MD, which is in the same county as, albeit on the other side of and about an hour or more away from, Burkittsville. I'm glad I didn't know this at the time as I was like, twelve and scared to death (in fact, they probably filmed it closer to where I was). But it's a fake story though, the place is entirely boring and unremarkable.

I remembered watching this documentary way back. This was before the movie came out and It freaking scared me to death, I thought everything had really happened.

It terrified me because at the time I lived in a very rural area, and I had already been told stories of weirdos who lived out in the woods. So yea...three students going out into the woods and getting killed seemed all too possible and real to me.

The so-called " family and friends" you referred to were just people hired to act in this movie. Many of them were local "extras" hired to act in this movie. Well its not entirely fake, thats why it seems well made. The factual stories they present regarding the various witch tales from Burkittsville, Maryland are true. But the Blair Witch Project film is entirely fake, and was directed by a viral marketing genius. They planned the whole thing out, they would find a convincing story to base a fake documentary off of, and BOOOM millions of dollars.
