@007thday I live in Savannah today...but, it was in Walterboro that I bought this album...I'll pull it out every once in a while just to listen to what rap WAS!
Like it or not Walk this Way did what the Copacabana did for the Temptations. It brought their music to a broader audience and both groups were the biggest acts of their time and you can still feel their presence in todays music. Black Eye Peas use the hook from the begining of Jam Master Jay song.
man u absolutely right.its my worst ov they songs cause it aint hip hop.omg what a coinsidence,im listening to raising hell album on my computer at the moment.
@chrisrap4ever nah i think it was pretty good..you got to have a open mind about it..because hip-hop is a art form of sampling other peoples music ....so they decided to sample a rock song..
@kadeem121 lol.what the fuck i was thinkin a year ago?!nah my brother, now im down with DJing and beat making as well.do u know whats the difference between a musician and hip hop producer or DJ?the second one is certain that will have respect for any type of qualified music cause its at least useful to him/her.the musician will maybe dont really care about genres different than the music he wants to create with an instrument.as u understand, now i gotta have respect for any genre of good music
@lawrobbur Thank you! I'm a radio DJ in Japan and I play a lot of old-school hip-hop. Of Run DMC's first three albums the ONE song I NEVER play is Walk This Way. I would rather listen to the original Aerosmith version than play the song that so many critics proclaim "changed hip-hop," no matter how influential the song may have been. But Rock Box on the other hand is THE JAM!
chris, it's not a sample. Joe perry, laid guit
ar down in the studio with Run DMC and Rick Rubin, and Steven Tyler was also in the studio laying down the vocals.
