thats quite incorrect... a firetruck can blow redlights and stop signs but if it hits another vehicle or gets hit by another vehicle it is the firetrucks fault no matter if its responding lights and siren of not. ambulances must stop at all redlights and stop signs before passing through, by law anyway. not saying thats how its done because everyone blows traffic signals in the heat of the moment :)
Its much more dangerous to pass on the right then it is to go on the left. Plus you see much more of intersection, not blocked by trees, buildings, etc.
MVA is also know as 10-50 well it is where I live

Any vehicle/truck with red lights and a siren can go straight through red lights.

You never pass on the right because that's the lane all commuters are supposed to merge into to get out of the way, and what ldr1ff said.
