maybe not a GT, but i love to see any 70 torino that someones keeping alive. throw some hashmarks and a gt hood on it and call it a GT anyway. most people wont know the difference.
Beautiful car. Lots of potential. Not a GT though! For 1970-71 the Torino GT's and Cobras shared the same fastback roofline, yours has the formal roof design. Third digit in the vin was 35 for a GT and 38 for a Torino Cobra. Yours must be a 30 or 33 depending if it's a standard formal roof Torino or a Brougham model.
I have been having some problems trying to figure out exactly what kind of Torino I have. I have searches ,but no one exact torino is my model. The closest I have found was the 1971 Torino 500 Sport roof. I have the "devil eyes" tail lights and my third vin # is 34. Can you help? Thanks, Jerry
This is really strage Jerry!! Sure enough, if your third digit is a 34, That means its a sportsroof 500, but yours is a formal roof design!? Is thare a possibility that the vin was changed a some point?

That is not a GT
It is a Formal top otherwise known as Hardtop.
Nice though, I own a 71 with vinyl top, same body.
Look up Torino GT and you will see the difference.
I grew up with these cars, my dad had several
